Our world has changed. In the early days one would need to spend a lot of time and resources to deliver a letter or a piece of news – people had to send messages through enormous territories, using animals and birds. Nowadays it takes only several seconds to receive a message from another part of the world. Can you imagine that? Billions of users all around the globe, terabytes of information are sent from one continent to another, amount of nodes between the sender and the receiver could be greater than a thousand. Even though this system seems to work in a complicated way, the usage of the telecommunications services is easy for a regular user. Every person can pick the phone or turn on the computer terminal to start the call in any part of the planet. In the past, people might not see each other for years but now videoconferences and telepresence are changing our methods of communication. The whole history of the world is just a click away, our life has become digital, our friends are becoming virtual. What is going to be in the future? There are many more discoveries to make.
I was fascinated to feel like I was a part of the telecommunication system, to develop with it and to solve its problems. My interest in this field arose when I was in the 10th grade. It was the usual summer and all I wanted to do was relax and entertain myself. However, my plans were about to change: my Mom asked me if I wanted to work in a company to earn some pocket money to become more independent. This company was configuring ADSL, which, at that point, was prevalent in our city. I viewed this job as easy, because I had previous experience with PCs and ADSL-routers. It seemed like I would forget about this work straight away after it had finished bu...

Not least because of the uniqueness of the Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Systems Management in Boston. I have many plans for my future after graduation. My goal is to contribute to the development of the worldwide communications. People will always need to keep in touch with each other, it’s our nature. I’m sure that Northeastern University and Graduate School of Engineering will help me to pursue my knowledge, so I could apply it in the future to make it easier for our society to stay connected in our big world.
From walkmans to CD players to iPods, technology has evolved over the succession of the years; humans have taken extensive steps towards a technological transformation that has revolutionized the manner in which several individuals communicate with one another. Likewise, various humans have opted for more modern methods to connect and contact their loved ones such as speaking on a cell phone, video chatting, e-mailing, instant messaging, and conversing through social media. With these contemporary methods of communication, global interaction has now been facilitated and easily accessible; conversing with individuals from across the world is as transparent and prompt as speaking with individuals within the same city. Nonetheless, these technological
during the late 20th century, mankind hit an unprecedented surge of technological advancement and innovation. From the 1980s onward, our level of technology- especially communication-based technologies- increased exponentially year by year, giving us inventions (and their subsequent additions) such as the mobile cell phone, the Internet, email, instant message and social media platforms. In fact, the advent of the Internet and social media has created a smaller, wired world wherein an individual can communicate with someone from across the world in the blink of an eye.
As rightly said by Hippocrates “The life so short, the craft so long to learn”. I believe that a good mix of talent and dependability are a crucial and potent mix for success. Honing my skills with a Masters’ degree after completing my Bachelors’ Degree In Physiotherapy, I believe would help me develop an array of cross functional skills. Gaining technical expertise in the subject of physiotherapy and then whetting my skills during my internship, taught me to be precise and scrupulous towards every task at hand. Having successfully pursued this field for nearly 5 years, I believe that, if given a chance, these skills endow me with the knowledge to gain an opportunity to pursue higher studies at your prestigious university.
The introduction of the Internet has represented a wave of global change amongst society. It has changed a large scale of aspects; socially, economically and culturally. It has caused society to change how they carry out day to day activities and how they communicate. Many academics would suggest that the world has essentially become a much smaller place as forms of global communication have evolved and is now quicker and easier than ever. The internet ‘has the unique ability to transmit information and build relationships among large groups of physically disconnected individuals’. (Pasek: 2009:6)
The heart of all this tech revolution is the Internet, which makes any form of communication possible. The Internet has broken all the cost and distance barriers to make everyone more connected than ever before. Cell phones, social networking, webs and emails are the most common means of communications. Cell phones make it possible to communicate with hundreds or even thousands of contact
The evolution of technology has provided for faster communication methods, has made storing data easier, and has made some jobs less complicated. Before the telephone was invented in the late 1800's by Alexander Graham Bell, communication over long distances could take considerable amounts of time. The process was usually very slow by way of a messenger or through the mail. There was not the ease of picking up a telephone, sending a...
My country, Azerbaijan, is under the necessity of high-class administrators and managers, economists and experts of finance, as well as well qualified decision makers in such decisive sectors of public and country government as economy and politics. These decision makers may carry out productive methods in this sphere of economy and public administration and represent the country in a way that will facilitate its integration towards the West and globalization. It is also important to have strong experts in public, private and civil society; proper analysis of economists will inevitably lead towards the prosperity of the whole country since in our modern world the states with solid economic background dominate global processes around the world. In addition, we need potential young leaders who can mobilize the rest of young generation and improve the social activity level being a sample for those young to follow. Thus, those are my concerns that propelled me to choose Master`s degree in the department of management and graduate education at your University in the United Kingdom.

Since its inception, the telephone has become one of the most important inventions of all time. Although some were skeptical about its replacement over telegrams, in the end the advent of this fine communication equipment has won the hearts of many. As a matter of fact, the telephone system had come to numerous facelifts that it literally connected the world before the internet was born. Because of its importance, homes and businesses can not live without it. In the U.S. alone, most if not all have a phone in the house.
Being well acknowledged about the above saying has pushed me a mile further for every aspect of my life. The four year engineering course in Information Technology has always been a beautiful experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Masters degree. This would allow me to enhance my knowledge about technology and its pros and cons and the guidance I would need. Gone are those days when man had to slog for simple works, he has advanced into boundaries which are unimaginable and has made his life easy, being an essential part of such an advancement has always been my motive. To attain my goal, my first priority would be in the field of research which will consist experiencing the applications in the real world steered by comprehensive know-how about technology. Technology has prevailed and casted its spell to parts unknown and now has been imbibed into man.
-Due to the era of technology, people can communicate virtually no matter how far they are located for instance using emails the way I had done.
Days, months, and years go by and we do not notice them. Living in such a busy world, we are not always aware of the changes in our lives. Twenty years ago, if someone was told we would be able to buy groceries, pay our bills, buy stocks or even a car through the use of a computer, we might have laughed and blamed too much science fiction television for such wild accusations. However, as the next generation of children grows up, they may find it funny that people still send letters to each other through the post office. The development of the Internet has given us the ability to communicate and exchange information instantly across vast distances. The Internet has caused a huge impact in the communication field, and has made our way of living and working a lot easier, faster, and cheaper than before.
People in the present society have turned from the use of the old means of communication to the more advanced and technological ways of communicating. Technology has made it easier for people to communicate in a faster, efficient, and cost saving means through the introduction of the communication channels. The world has turned out to be the centre for technology with different technologies emerging daily as the people continue to develop from time to time to cope with the growing technology. The benefits of adopting the communication technology are explained in this article which shows why people do not function without technology.

These changes are central to the foundation of the 21st century, are continuously evolving providing potential for newer ways of changing our world and making it a better place to live in. The field of telecommunications has always fascinated me, the way it dwarves the vastness of the world or how it has helped people connect with each other. Having pursued Electronics and Communication at my undergraduate level further propelled my passion for telecommunications along with providing me a deeper insight and in-depth understanding of the subject. I believe that a proper master’s degree will help me realize the true potential of telecommunications and help realize my aspirations.
At the dawn of the information age, to be young, as Wordsworth said in another context, is very heaven. Getting to know what goes inside computers, the engines of the Information Technology revolution, and knowing how to work with them enables one to understand the technology that makes it all possible. Understanding this, I chose to do my undergraduate study in Electronics and Communications engineering.
