Weight loss is one of the biggest exploited activities in the media today. With millions of Americans overweight and children who are obese, smartphones are offering a practical solution. They offer everyone the chance to have better information sharing, greater function ability, faster communication, and never being out of touch with friends and family. There are 5,820 medical, health, and fitness apps available for smartphones today. Yet, not all apps are created equal. Apple, who is the third largest maker of smartphones, has put the iphone in the top requested gadgets of the year. Everyone seems to think weight loss equals eating fewer calories and exercising more. This is not the case for some. People, who live with medical issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or lymphademia to mention a few, find the traditional weight loss activities difficult to achieve. Smartphones are offering applications (apps) that are fun and mostly free, to put some excitement back into exercise.
