Setting goals is a fundamental component to long-term success. The basic reason for this is that you cannot get where you are trying to go until you clearly define where that is . Therefore, my goal for the year is to eat healthier. By eating healthier, I mean eating more fruits and vegetables and eliminating carbohydrates and sweets in my diet. Yet, even with your goals clearly defined and written down, you may encounter obstacles on the path to goal achievement. It is only natural that we will have successes and setbacks on any journey. However, how we handle them determines whether we reach our ultimate destination . My three obstacles are my family who are a bad influence since they eat unhealthy as I do, I do not have time to cook healthy meals, and social outings and events with my friends. My family tends to cook unhealthy traditional meals and usually my relatives are offended if do not eat their traditional meals. Parents play a fundamental role as household policy makers. More importantly, they make decisions about which foods are available at home, where and when foods can be eaten in the house, and children’s allowances . I was raised by a single mother therefore economic and time constraints, as well as the stresses and challenges of daily living, made healthy eating difficult to achieve for us. This made me grow up with unhealthy choices since my mom was unable to cook food all the time, which only gave her the choice of ordering delivery food. I got used to this bad habit of ordering food when I am unable to cook which makes it more difficult to stay healthy. I work full-time and I am a full-time college student therefore I am unable to have time to go in the kitchen and cook myself a decent and healthy meal. Finally, I will use social support to provide myself from others the encouragement I need to achieve my goal. By surrounding myself with others who support my goal, I will have the drive and push that allows me to achieve my goal. To implement my plan tomorrow, I am going to eliminate all my unhealthy food from my apartment and leave myself with only the healthy food options. Works Cited Fishbach, A., & Zhang, Y. (2008). The last major thing that stresses me the most is the way I eat and what I’ve gained in the process. I’ve never been an over-eater, but as the month have gone by my eating habits have worsen. It’s not so much of how much I’m eating, rather what I’ve been eating. Bread, sweet pastries, and flour tortillas are my problem and I have gained 35-pounds in the past 6 months – it’s starting to take an emotional and physical toll on me. The worst part is I can’t seem to stay dedicated to eat healthier, causing me quite a bit of

Setting long-term goals can be confusing. Students can become stressed while setting these goals- but trying again is crucial to success. Scholars cannot give up; they should absolutely have long-term goals. Setting long-term goals is necessary because having an incentive to look forward to will keep students motivated.
The theory of goal setting was developed by Edward Locke and Gary Latham (1990) and states that there is a direct relationship between the setting of specific high goals and task performance. A higher degree of employee performance is obtained when specific goals are set compared to the performance achieved when employees are simply told to do their best (Latham & Locke, 2007). These findings have helped shape leadership styles and improve employee performance and job satisfaction (Posthuma & Al-Riyami, 2012).
Everyone has a goal when they realized something needs to be done in a certain amount of times. People set goals to meet their expectations and effectiveness on their journey with no hesitation. Every sets of goal have a limit, and it follow the deadline on how we set our goal. A set of goal is a dream that we built to become reality or sometime it can be a total failure. Setting a goal isn’t enough for individual and should not be.
I firmly believe that if one plans on achieving his aspirations, setting goals is a very important step. Having goals not only gives you a clear focus on things, it also helps you to organize your plans by allowing you to give yourself time limits and boundaries. That is why I try to set goals for myself routinely, whether it is just for one day, or for the rest of my life.

I set goals for myself all the time in many different aspects of my life. This experience was different because I don’t always take the time to write out goals. Taking this extra step allows you to plan for success despite barriers that may arise due to your environment or social systems. As a social worker I will be better equipped to empower others in goal setting and planning after going through the planning myself. Being aware of how social systems and the environment affect goal setting will allow me the ability to view client’s situations through an ecological lens, while empowering them in the goal setting and planning

On those days, I followed the rules I set in place and worked out as I said I would that evening. Part of the time my boyfriend would inevitably cause me to falter by cooking a nice fattening meal, but I don’t blame him at all considering it was up to me to make the decision to refrain from eating it. I probably didn’t do as well as I could have around lunch time or dinner but I’m glad at the fact that I did keep away from sweets and snacks throughout the entire week. I was really intrigued with getting good results for this project so I tried my hardest to actually follow the program set. Even if I don’t keep with this change after the project it’s very comforting to know I CAN eat healthy when I want and I CAN workout if I need too.

Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
Goal setting is key in motivation; goals need to be clear, sharp, and realistic. To make these feel more achievable it is better to break these down into smaller medium-term goals and medium-term goals into short-term goals so that you have a clear connection between what one does every day and their long-term goals.
In setting a goal, you set up a grand goal and then you break it down into smaller goals. This helps you to further monitor your progress on a smaller scale and helps you stay motivated and focused because each time you achieve one of the smaller goals, it keeps you inspired to achieve the grand goal. Set goals that are definite with a well-known target to achieve, always giving yourself a specific time-stamped to achieve your goals. However, ensure that your goals and time lines set are realistic otherwise you will end frustrated chasing castles in the
