Many have argued that school uniforms have been a successful source to putting an end to combatants and bringing about order and stability in a school setting. However, others argue that school uniforms put a barrier between students and their personal character. In addition, there are many people who consider clothing as being a way to define the individual's originality. On the other hand, there are people who are in favor of enforcing school uniforms, because they have concluded that it does eliminate students from being assaulted by peers. Based on observations, many have seen that student's have expectations that one must abide by in order to comply to what is considered the norm. Therefore, by enforcing school uniforms it can lessen the conflicts among students. Certainly, school uniforms should be enforced in a high school setting because it reduces fighting and violence, promotes good discipline, and eliminates distractions.

Firstly, school uniforms should be enforced in a high school setting because it reduces fighting and violence. School uniforms do decrease fighting and violence that emerges out of confrontations over fancy clothing. During high school, children are deliberately teased if they do not have trendy clothes. Unfortunately, students of middle class aim for those who cannot afford name brand clothes. In addition, those who cannot keep up with the trend because of economic issues are often sensitive about their clothing. Therefore, school uniforms help ease tensions.

For instance, those who do not abide by the school's guidelines will suffer the consequence and, therefore, can set an example for other people. Therefore, this will eliminate discipline problems. Furthermore, those who take the position that school uniforms suppress individuality do not realize that school uniforms will teach students that individuality and self-expression are not determined by designer clothing. Moreover, as for the expenses it will be no different from the expense parents pay for their children necessities. It would definitely cost less than designer clothing.
