Like I mentioned before, our small stand is located in the thrilling amusement park, Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari. As an employee working in the foods department I, like everyone else, considers the water parka and the dry park as two separate worlds. Both parks have food stands with jobs that are similar but seem different in an environmental way. The main reason of this is that Holiday World has different holiday themed section while the water park has just one main theme of a safari. Lucky for me, I was put in one of the simplest stands in my opinion three years ago when I applied for the job.
It does not take a genius to figure out that a stand named Santa’s Snacks would be in the Christmas section of Holiday World. Of all the sections in the dry park, this section seemed to most unique because the aspects of the location of the stand were either completely positive or negative. The reason behind this is because the stand’s location sits at the top of the hill while the Human resources building is all the way across the dry park at the bottom. Even though it was an extensive trip to the stand every night and day, it did have one advantage that was also a disadvantage. Santa’s Snacks was located a few feet away from the entrance of the park so guests did not spend the majority of their day around it. This does however, backfire at night when they leave and pick up a last minute snack on the way home. Aside from all the negative features of the location I began to grow onto it as the first year of work went by.
I was sixteen years old when I decided to get a job in the foods department at Holiday World. It was best for me to acquire a job so the entire summer would not be me just sitting around the house. ...

...l. Other than that both Tim and Josh said that positive relations in the stand are extremely high. Luckily, after every negative event that takes place in the stand, everything always turns out to be fine. I am unable to recall an event that went wrong and stayed for a long period of time.
Whether anyone has a small argument or gets angry at another member, the bad energy from that event almost disappears in thin air with time. When the season ended this year, I never realized how much our crew related to an actual family. We have amazing days and we have disappointing days, but in the end everything turns out to be just fine. With the season over, working my hardest in that little stand by the entrance to the park makes me feel like I almost lost a part of my family. Sadly, there is a decent change that I will never see some of them face to face ever again.
It had been 5 years since the death of Johnny and Dally and everyday I miss them more and more. I am 18 now and about to leave to start my first year of college. I have still been living with my brothers Darry and Sodapop. Darry is now 25 and Soda is now 22. Things have been a little different ever since we won the rumble that night. I remember it like it was yesterday. But the difference is now the greasers and Socs are not really a thing anymore. Darry, Soda and I have kinda lose touch with Two-Bit, Steve and Cherry. But we all still think and talk about them everyday.(I mostly talk about Cherry.) When we see the Socs wondering the streets we don't go over and try to pick a fight anymore. We either smile and wave, it's like we're all one big friendly neighborhood.
In The Santa Clause when Charlie and Scott first go to the North Pole, Abby the elf talks about the North Pole to Scott saying, “Kids don’t have to see this place to know that it’s real. They just know.” This strikes home for children under the age of six, as the book states in chapter 6, “They believe that effective wishing takes a great deal of skill, and perhaps magic, but that it can be done. In related fashion, many believe that getting in good with Santa Clause can make their hopes come true.” Which correlates perfectly with a study which concluded that the average kid stops believing in Santa around six and a half, and seven-years’-old (Madrigal, 2012). Anyways, Charlie experiences a lot of stress and happiness throughout the movie because of the bioecological model, whether the stress or happiness is due to the microsystem or chronosystem.
In Jay Mock’s blog “Is Santa Claus a Conspiracy?” he contemplates whether Santa Claus has an evil purpose. Mock goes through what happens every year during Christmas time now and how “good feelings are directly connected to consumerism” (Mock p3), how we lie to support the conspiracy (Mock p5) and the different options a child may go through when trying to decide whether Santa Claus is real or not (Mock p7-15).
"You don't want to be on Santa's naughty list do you?" How many times have you heard those words as a child? Do those words still work today? Santa and his mystical abilities to know everything about everyone in the entire world, awed me as a child. Growing up I continually found myself replaying those words and applying them in my actions to be good, loving, peaceful, selfless and kind to others. Inside us are these traits we can surely better ourselves working on. Life is a busy one, though Santa still made the time, one man spreading joy worldwide. Would it hurt us to at least try?
Most teens are getting jobs at high school ages. They would need a way to get to and from work on their own. More often than not a teens work schedule is not going to coincide with the parent or guardian's schedule. The job would just end up being a hassle for both the teen and the parent taking them. If they have a license, there would not be a problem with getting a job when they can take themselves whenever. Having a job in high school sets you up to be more responsible, builds time management skills, and you can save up college money or money to support yourself.
“What on earth are we going to do Mrs.Claus?” Rudolph questioned. “Well I’m afraid there isn’t very much we can do, sweetie.” She replies, sounding troubled. Surely there was something they could do to fix whatever happened to poor Rudolph’s nose. The North Pole was pure chaos, to put it bluntly. Everyone was panicking, there was now only a few hours until Santa would have to leave in order to deliver all of the presents and Rudolph’s nose remained dull. Muffins was walking back to the workshop, still pondering about Rudolph’s strange behavior when he thought of an idea. Everyone and everything in the North Pole was powered by the most important part of Christmas: Christmas spirit. Piecing the pieces together, Muffins makes a
Have you ever been employed in a factory? If so, at what age did you start?
As one young person was heard to remark, “You can’t get a job without experience, and you can’t get experience without a job.” That dilemma can be overcome, however, by starting work early in life and by accepting simpler jobs that have no minimum age limit and do not require experience. Jobs Teens Can Do Begin early at jobs that may not pay especially well but help to establish a working track record: delivering newspapers, babysitting, mowing lawns, assisting with gardening, and the like. Use these work experiences as springboards for such later jobs as sales clerks, gas station attendant, fast-food worker, lifeguard, playground supervisor assistant, and office staff assistant (after you have developed basic office skills). As you progress through these work exploration experiences, try increasingly to get jobs that have some relationship to your career plans.

In order to gain an understanding of independence and responsibility, I have held summer jobs in the preceding three years. I also worked to help myself financially in boarding school, insurance, a car, everyday necessities, and soon in college. My first summer job was at the Moonlite Drive In Theater.
Throughout history, countless traditions have been created to celebrate several holidays. Many of those who celebrate the holiday traditions are unaware of their origins, but naturally accept them as cultural customs. To be specific, the popular Christian holiday, Christmas, has influenced many traditions including the stories of Santa Claus, the exchanging of gifts, the placement of trees in homes, and the decoration of glowing lights.
Although Santa has become the main staple of the Christmas season it is important to remember the true reason for the season. Jesus’ birth is what December 25 began as until Saint Nicholas day merged with it. Even though the character that has developed and encountered extremely drastic changes, he has almost always been a giving generous figure in society. “Santa is ‘an invention of the advertising industry’ and ‘a representative of consumer society,’ according to Bonifatiuswerk der deutschen Katholiken [Boniface of German Catholics], which seeks to restore St. Nicholas to his proper place in the Christmas season” (Sweas).
That summer after school I just wanted to find a job and start making some money. Going to college for anther four year was something I thought I could not handle. I final got a job at UPS unloading trucks. At first I thought how hard could it be? But every day I would come home exhausted from working in the heat. And then when I got tiny pay check, it hit me. From then on I decided that manual labor was something that I could not do the rest of my life and I could definitely not support a family on that income. A job behind a desk in the air conditioning was what I wanted.
From having no work experience and I was not old enough to work; I asked the manager if they needed help. By law in the 1990’s, underage children in Illinois was not able to work until they reach the age of sixteen. I knew that I was not of age to work, but I told the manager that I was willing help out in any way that I can. Based on my determination, the manager gave me a chance. I started helping by cleaning windows, sweeping and mopping floors, and running errands that he or she needed. Eventually, the manager liked how I worked and how determined I was to
Working teaches students about responsibility and also reinforces what they are leaning in school. Having a job while in high school is a catalyst for future responsible actions and thinking. Teens are accountable for work attendent, job perfromance, and customer satisfaction. The attendence is very essential in a work place. Teens will demonstrate the skills they acquire from work whenever they go to work, and it will be evaluated on their evaluation worksheet by their employers. For example, if teens have missed class, they would be mark for absence and it will later affect their grade. Being resposible in early ages is not very easy, some of them need to take time to work on what they are lacking of. Working will make teens feel more confident in life especially in their job performance. Having responsiblity while performing the task is important because teens know what they should and should not do that will help them avoid making mistake at work or it will lead them to satisfy the customers. In fact, students can use what they have been taught in class and apply it to their job skills because studying and practicing always come along way. The more the teens practices, the more they learn from work experiences. No matter how old they are, as far as student...
