This paper strives to examine the key concept of globalization as it affects developing countries. It is a review of two articles; the first titled “The limits of globalization in the early modern world” by De Vries(2010), while the other article is titled” could developing countries take the benefit from globalization?”by Hartungi(2006). The two articles are similar in that they highlight the negative impact of globalization on developing countries but contrast on scope of study and evolution of globalization in general. This paper will critically analyze these 2 articles to provide a better understanding of this phenomenon. They will also highlight how industrialized countries have contributed to the developing countries in other to catch up with globalization as well as the consequences it has brought.
Hartungi(2006) talks about globalization as a wide term used in many different contexts in the literature, its impacts on developing nations, its benefits and shortcomings. As regards to its shortcoming, he made some discussions on how infant industries can be protected and problems involved with globalization can be reduced. He focused on the impacts of globalization on four main areas, namely trade and industry, labor and employment, intellectual property rights and lastly the environment as a whole. He argued that the economic developments in developing countries are both influenced by both global and domestic polices set up by the global community. He also looked at globalization from five points of views which are : financial, economists ,demographics, general and many points of views .They all agreed that the term globalization is “ a series of increasing connectivity, where goods, services and people are conveyed acros...

In conclusion, the articles make interesting points about a subject that is both relevant and important, but tend to be biased in ignoring the possible benefits of globalization to developing countries.

The topic of Globalization is one that is often tied to a negative or a positive, but the truth is that Globalization is far too complex to fit neatly into either side of the argument. Globalization is such a massive concept with far reaching effects that it is only natural that it has aspects of both good and bad imbedded in it. The study of globalization is a lengthy and complicated one. Referring to globalization in terms of Archaic, Proto, and Modern is not helpful because doing so contributes to the myth of globalization forged purely by dramatic new linkages by the Europeans in the face of a diminishing role of older connections. I will define each stage of globalization with regard to the current model, the onrush of each stage of globalization in terms of older patterns in both India and China, and finally how the British empire took advantage of these preexistent linkages to bring about Modern globalization in both India and China;all in hopes of dispelling the Eurocentrism present in the current explanation of Globalization.

Globalization is an overwhelming trend. It is no doubt that there are many positives rise out of globalization, but equally some serious negatives brought from this trend, such as gradual disappearance of ethnic identity (Buckley, 1998). This essay is going to address some positive effects of globalization generally, and then it will focus on impacts of this trend on developing countries.

The frontlines of the state with increased reliance on the market economy and renewed belief in the private capital and assets, a process of structural alteration encouraged by the studies and influences of the World Bank and other International organisations have started in many of countries. Also Globalisation has brought in new avenues to developing countries. Greater access to developed country markets and technology transfer hold out promise improved productivity and higher living standard.
Globalization is a term that is difficult to define, as it covers many broad topics in the global arena. However, it can typically be attributed to the advancement of economic, social, and cultural interactions among the companies, citizens, organizations, and governments of nations; globalization also focuses on the interactions and integration of countries (The Levin Institute 2012). Many in the Western world promote globalization as a positive concept that allows growth and participation in a global community. Conversely, the negative aspects rarely receive the same level of attention. Globalization appears to be advantageous for the privileged few, but the benefits are unevenly distributed. For example, the three richest people in the world possess assets that exceed the Gross National Product of all of the least developed countries and their 600 million citizens combined (Shawki and D’Amato 2000). Although globalization can provide positive results to some, it can also be a high price to pay for others. Furthermore, for all of those who profit or advance from the actions related to globalization, there are countless others who endure severe adverse effects.
Globalization’s history is extremely diversified and began during the beginning of civilization. Now we live in a world that is constantly evolving, demanding people to use resources in locations that are very difficult to obtain certain resources. This could make it completely impossible to operate in these specific parts of the world. However, globalization allows people across the world to acquire much needed resources. Globalization creates the opportunity for businesses to take advantage and exploit the ability to take part of their business to a different country. Many negative and positive thoughts have been given to the process of globalization. The proponents of globalization rather see the benefits of globalization, while the opponents have based their opinions on the disadvantages of globalization.
Globalization is one of the main aspects in the 21st century. Globalization has brought the world closer; all the things that are happening nowadays are recognized globally even if they happened locally (Buckley). According to Nayef Al-Rodhan GCSP (Geneva Centre for Security Policy) globalization is not a single word or concept. It contains many other concepts within itself. Globalization is composed of different concepts like incorporation regarding the economics, transmitting information or understandings, stability within beliefs, and other concepts (Al-Rodhan p.3). This paper deals with the definition of Globalization, the advantages and disadvantages of globalization, and based on these information the views that to which extend the globalization is beneficial for majority of the world's population. The concept of globalization has changed the whole shape of the world. It has both its positive and negative impacts on people's life. However, by taking both the advantages and disadvantages into consideration we can find that to a large extend globalization is beneficial for majority of the world's population. With the help of globalization the works that were difficult in past is getting easier in today's environment. People are getting closer to each other, which is a product of globalization.
