Empirical Research
Empirical research is defined by the context of two separate types of study. Both methods are of value to the researcher in his/her quest for better understanding of the test subjects. However, correlational and experimental studies each has its own set of qualifications which allow for differences in subject and matter. Scientifically, some of these are useful, though others could be viewed as problematic.
Correlational research is the process of studying the relationship between two variables. The examiner does not manipulate a relational study. Findings can either be positive, negative, or unrelated. Though scientific in the final statistical manner; the researcher uses his senses to observe and ultimately determine into which category a study falls. A positive correlation shows increases in both variables. Alternately, negative correlation looks at the increase in one variable, and the relation to the decrease in the other variable. There has to be an association between the two, or the result is unrelational.

Human trafficking is the modern day slavery, it involves taking control over a person through force, fraud or coercion to exploit the victim for forced labor, sexual exploitation. or both (“What” par.1). This is become the sad reality for many, approximately three out of every 1,000 people worldwide are being forced into this such slavery. Victims of human trafficking are people of all backgrounds and ages, no one is safe from the dirty hands of human traffickers. Every year thousands of men, women, and children are forced into human trafficking the public needs to be informed, enhance penalties for violators, and raise awareness to finally put a stop to these horrible crimes that are happening right end our noses.
Human trafficking is becoming more prevalent in all nations, whether it is for forced labor, organ distribution, or sexual exploitation and it is now time for us, as Americans, to step up our game and truly put forth effort into combating human trafficking, especially in our home country. Human trafficking has been on the rise for the last few years and is increasing rapidly due to various factors. Typically, when human trafficking is mentioned, the first thought is that only sex trafficking is being discussed, however, human trafficking is a broad term that can include labor, organ, or sex trafficking. The common thread in each type of trafficking is that the victims in each category are lured into the work through force, fraud, or coercion.
This paper will discuss several different aspects of using evidence research. It will compare and contrast validity vs. reliability and address wither it is possible to have an instrument that is valid and not reliable. It will also examine type I and type II errors as well as examine the differences between parametric and non-parametric. Lastly, this paper will look probability and what the minimum level of significance is for a research paper.

In chapter one quantitative research and qualitative research is discussed. Quantitative research is collecting data that is in forms of numbers or is converted into numbers. This type of research would be conducted through tests rating scores, etc. There are four different types of studies that could result in quantitative research. Descriptive studies is when it enables researchers to draw conclusions about the current state of affairs regarding issues, but not about correlation or cause –and- effect relationship. This describes a situation that gives information about characteristics of students, teachers, and schools (Ellis, 2013, p. 6).
