RC tank combat is an exciting hobby that offers military enthusiasts the opportunity to recreate combat situations using their favorite armored vehicles from history. These vehicles range from tanks to armored cars, to even including artillery pieces. If you are passionate about military history, then this hobby offers you the opportunity to recreate tank battles from the past and test your own strategies in simulated combat situations.
As with any combat situation, solid strategic planning, speed, and the element of surprise will play a role in winning a RC tank battle. Before the battle gets to raging, there are a few things that you must be aware of in order to fully enjoy the hobby. First, both sides must check their tanks and other equipment and be certain that everything is in fully operational working order. Then the tanks and other equipment must be fully charged and responsive to their controls. With these things done, the battle can commence.
As the battle begins, there are a few rules that apply to any RC tank combat scenario. The first is that the vehicles and weapons systems being used should be modeled after real vehicles or weapons used for military purposes within a certain time period. This guarantees the historical accuracy of the combat situation. The next rule that applies is that all tanks, vehicles, and other equipment involved in the combat should be of the same scale. It would be quite uneven for someone with a 1/6 scale tank to be fighting someone with a RC tabletop miniature tank. The final rule is that there should be a designated referee to settle any disputes that may arise. Once all parties involved agree to follow these basic rules, the tank battle can begin.

By incorporating these strategy tips and using the simple rules mentioned above, you will find that the hobby of RC tank combat is extremely exciting. With the actual tactical level of operations seen in the hobby, it offers military history buffs the chance to see just how they might react in armored combat situations. Also the hobby offers the opportunity to learn what works and what doesn't in a military battle and to have fun doing it. Simply put, RC tank combat is a hobby that offers a great way to enjoy military history.

In today’s world, the use of airplanes in wars or in everyday life has become a part of how we live as human beings. Removing the air forces of the world is like taking a step back in time when wars were only fought on land or sea. WWI began only eleven short years after the Wright brothers achieved powered flight in 19031 and yet aircrafts were being used for surveillance and eventually combat purposes. It is understood that these aircrafts were primitive, but they laid down the foundation for what we know today as fighter jets. The Fokker Eindecker “revolutionized air combat by successfully employing a synchronized forward -firing machine gun mounted on the engine cowling”2. Because this airplane became the first to successfully use a synchronized machine gun, it allowed its pilots to become the first aerial combat tactitions3.
The men of the 714th Tank Battalion served their country in its greatest time of need. A key element of the 12th Armored Division, the 714th fought in harsh conditions against a desperate German enemy for five consecutive months, driving the Nazi Armies from France and back into the German heartland.
Senior Leaders have analyzed wars for years in hopes of finding the most efficient way to conduct war. This paper explores the events of that took place during the Battle of Bien Hoa in 1968. Research was conducted through internet and non-internet sources to provide the most accurate facts concerning this battle. The 29th of January 1968 was the beginning of Battle of Bien Hoa when the Bien Hoa Air Base went under attack. On 31 January the first Tet Offensive began by the National Liberation Front for South Vietnam in order to shift the invading army and regain control by the Vietnamese. A total of 39 encounters were recorded in this battle fought by brave Soldiers from the 17th Calvary, the 11th Armored Calvary, the 101st Airborne Division, the 47th Infantry Division (Mechanized), the 199th Infantry Brigade, the Air Force, Marines, and the South Vietnamese Army, against enemy forces (North Vietnamese Army, and the Viet Cong). Pleiku, Phan Theit, Ban Me Thuot, Thu Duc, An My, and Kontum are some of the cities near the Saigon area where the encounters took place. (Starry, 1931) Before the battle begun there was a huge dilemma about engaging armored vehicles in Vietnam; however once fully engaged the results created an atmosphere of change, innovation, power, and confidence that changed the strategies of war forever.

...ilities of the tanks being penetrated were slim. Also there was an addition of an anti-craft gun which made it even more powerful and unstoppable (Slayton 103).
First, the movie brought the real Sherman tank to life by incorporating its realistic design. The Sherman tank was one of the American tanks utilized during World War II. It was known for its thin armor and mobility. It was an inexpensive tank which was produced in abundances. The tank had a 75-millimeter gun, two machine guns, and a turret. One
WWII was an era of learning and innovation, despite the ominous history behind it. Many new technologies were developed and led to many things never seen before; Jets made their first debut, experimentation with rockets started, nuclear science reached nuclear levels, peering radar, and huge metal boxes on wheels. These metal boxes have evolved so much during WWII. Tanks have had such an impact on the war, and the same is true the other way around. Each nation had a slightly different take on tanks, each evolving throughout the way, along with the way tanks were used also varied among nations, and changed significantly throughout the war.
Without tanks, it is doubtful that War World 2 would have been fought in such a short time. Tanks critically shaped the outcome of the war. Before
The development of tanks in World War I was a response to the stalemate that trench warfare had created on theWestern Front. Although vehicles that incorporated the basic principles of the tank (armour, firepower, and all-terrain mobility) had been projected in the decade or so before the War, it was the heavy casualties sustained in the first few months of hostilities that stimulated development. Research took place in both Great Britain and France, with Germany only belatedly following the Allies' lead.
All they really had were Panzer III’s, Panzer 38(t)’s, Panzer II’s and even Panzer I’s. These tanks were not made to really counter enemy tanks, rather they were made to support infantry, which helped with their Blitzkriegs. The Soviet T-34’s completely destroyed the German tanks. Germany’s tanks couldn’t pierce through the T-34’s sloped armor. This was huge because the Soviet Union’s infantry had outdated rifles that they had been using since World War I. The Soviets were making so many T-34’s that the Germans focused their bombing on Soviet factories and industry buildings. A reason that the Soviets could make so many tanks was due to the Socialist Union in Russia. Russia is a country that is rich with resources, the Soviets built factories everywhere they could and a huge majority of the population worked in these factories. But a huge factor that affected the war was the population difference in the two countries. Russia had many more people than Germany had, and majority of the men in Russia fought in the war for their homeland. Soviets basically overwhelmed the enemy with their population. Millions of Soviets charged into the battle, they would not stop for anything. The Soviet tanks became less effective once the Germans created its counter, the Tiger tank. But the Tiger tanks broke down and could not be
Over the course of the war the U.S. developed several different types of tanks. Due to there being a two front war there were several different environments which had to be adapted to. Advancements had been made to previous tanks in order to combat newer technologies. The Mark 4 Landship was the main tank in World War I. Although it helped break the stalemate of trench warfare in France, by 1939 new tanks had already been made. The Mark 4 helped when it needed to, but it was also costly and tended to be unreliable. During World War II the U.S. was building light tanks extremely fast with low cost and was able to keep a constant supply out for most of the war. As Heinz Guderian once said “If the tanks succeed, then victory follows”
In the spring of 1942 the U.S. Navy and Japanese Imperial Fleet engaged in battle at sea on more than one occasion. The Battle of Coral Sea, however, was the first time that these too forces would engage one another at sea using only aircraft. This will be the first battle in history where ships from both sides would never see the other like most conventional naval battles; this one will be fought entirely by aircraft.
Wilhelm Bittrich, a German leader during Operation Market Garden, once commented on the British paratroopers at Arnhem saying, “In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard.” This is just one instance of bravery and dedication that paratroopers exhibited on a consistent basis throughout World War II. Paratroopers were an elite infantry force that went through some of the toughest training their military had to offer in order to perform well during any and all operations. They were new, experimental divisions with little real experience or support from their superiors. Because of this, they were used to complement and assist the army most of the time, but there were still some decisive battles that were the work of solely paratroopers. The men involved were at the top of their game by the time they got to the battlefields. They had the best training and equipment their country could provide and were utilized efficiently and effectively. Because of these factors paratroopers were some of the most important fighters during the war. Paratroopers played a big role in the outcome of World War II.
Gas powered RC helicopters are some of the toughest and most exciting choppers to take to the sky in the RC world. These birds exhibit all of the power, torque, and top-notch flight performance of their full-scale cousins in a small package that is simply amazing. While these helicopters may look similar to their electric counterparts, they differ tremendously in the fact that gas powered RC helicopters are the most realistic thing you can fly short of sitting in the cockpit of a full-scale high-performance helicopter. Overall, these RC birds offer their pilots the chance to experience first-hand the exhilarating excitement of flying a top-notch chopper.
