Visual Presentation In order to provide an entertaining yet informative presentation for High School seniors on project management as a career choice I would outline the benefits of the career and contrast them to other career choices in the market place. I would include a power-point presentation bulleting the key points and functions of project management and step through a project from conception to realization. I believe that the project I would step through would be the production of a video game or something of the sort to better retain the attention of the students. On other hand it says the project management will be more professional and having unique skill for functional effect on the projects. The role of project management will be more in industrial fields. IT is very useful for any company for satisfying their operational and functional needs. Due to the huge development in IT projects, companies need to keep themselves aware of changes in the global world. Companies must give more importance to ICT projects to become more popular in the competitive world. There are two different lifecycles that work together throughout the course of every project. One describes all the tasks that must be completed to produce a particular product and the second explains how to manage a product. There is an immense difference in project management between a large traditional organization, a technology company and a startup. To begin with, project management practice in a traditional company is superlative, well-defined and show a sustained approach. They have a balanced strong metrics and internal communities to maintain personalized methodologies and tools to achieve project deliverables. However, in a large technology company project management is complicated as the business needs keep changing with the demanding stakeholders from traditional organization. Project management in an IT organization ensures that a factual technology is applied to provide a direct solution to the organization. Also, management is well planned with the appropriate consideration given to schedule, risk, resource and quality management. Unlike in larger organizations, a startup company has a creative disruption and not a well-established i.e.
Many students do not understand or realize how important project management would be helpful to them and their careers. It is for this reason that many students do not study project management. The absence of the knowledge on how imperative venture administration is making a lot of understudies needs all the benefits and the advantages that come with project management. Project management plays a prominent role in almost each and every careers study and partially all organizations, (Weske, 366). The knowledge of Project Management can be applied everywhere. But many people have not realized this; they instead despise it and do not consider it when choosing their careers. There are several advantages that Project Management has on Business Administration
“Project definition provides a complete understanding of project and serves to guide the project Manager and project team in planning and implementation. It also provides the basis of decision making for executives who need to evaluate the potential for project success and completion on time, within budget, and according to performance specifications.”(Hill 2008)
“Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to organisational and project activities to achieve the aims of an organisation through projects” (PMI, 2003).
In the globalized economy, Successful project managers are in much demand across many industries. Organizations strongly need experienced project managers to lead their staff to accomplish their business goals and deliver successful projects. In an increasingly complex environment, project managers need to turn into many roles and have all kinds of responsibilities at each level of management within an organization. Good project managers are not born. They need to be trained. They develop their skills through study, practise and experience. They become better project managers after they finish a successful project each time. They learn new techniques and apply them on their projects. They learn their lessons from failed projects and then improve to be better project managers in the future.
Project management involves all activities that encompass scheduling, planning, and controlling projects. A successful project manager ensure that an organization’s resources are being used both efficiently and effectively. Most projects need to be uniquely developed require a sense of customization and the ability to adapt to any posed challenges. The scope of effective project management includes defining what the project is and what is being expected to be accomplished. Projects are imposed to fulfill a certain need and project managers must have the ability to create the proper definition. Goals and the means used to attain those goals have to be clearly stated. Project Managers must also have the ability to plan
Project managers have to improve their skills every day to deal with the organizational change and especially the world’s Megatrends. However, it can be a challenge for a project manager to comprehend what skills they should be improved, what sections of project management knowledge that should be tried to perceive, and how to measure and enhance their performance.
When planning a new project, how the project will be managed is one of the most important factors. The importance of a managers will determine the success of the project. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed. Project management is referred to as the discipline that entails the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization resources so as to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals and meet the specific criteria of success required in the organization (Larson, 2014). Over the course of this paper I will be discussing and analyzing the importance of project management.
Over the course of my professional life, I have become increasingly involved in project management roles. Doing so has made me aware of the many varied challenges that can face projects and the project managers who are charged with bringing them through to completion. The success or failure of projects, in whatever economic, political or social field, rests not just on the quality of the project’s goals, but also on the abilities of those involved in the project – and above all those who are managing it – to bring it to successful completion. To do this, project managers need to be equipped with a very wide range of skills, many of which are unrelated to the type of project itself. So, for example, a project manager of an engineering project must not only have engineering
Project Management is one of the most crucial parts of an organization and to execute this area there is the need for the project management skills. Today, for the project managers across verticals need to possess the calibre and potential to acquire their career goals and higher position in the organization.
