ACCESSIBILITY
Primary health care was established to cater to the needs of everyone. In 1978 Alma Ata declaration was signed by the members of world health organisation (WHO), to ensure that everyone gets access to good primary health care. The importance of primary health care is having an essential approach to health and the community’s development, and to reduce differences and to improve the people 's well-being (Alma Ata, 1978). The health care service should be accessible, closer and able to cater to individuals, families and the community using the New Zealand healthcare system. New Zealand healthcare system policy states that Primary health organisations (PHOs) are funded by district health boards (DHBs) to ensure the provision of essential

Alma Ata 1978 states that Primary health care is essential to the people living in communities and should be accessible to the members of the community, their families and individuals, and at a cost that the given country can afford. This is why healthy village action zone (HVAZ) is funded by the Auckland district health board (ADHB), 3 primary health organisations (PHO) and the Tongan health society. The funds from the DHB goes through the PHO to pay for the salaries of the nurses, the nutritionists, health care workers and the community co-ordinator (Kai Tiaki, 2010). Healthy village action zone (HVAZ) is an organisation created in 2008 to cater to the rising health issues of the pacific island people. They deal with clients in 5 zones and are working together with 42 parishes around Auckland. The pacific people being obese or overweight, this causes them a lot of health issues and most of them cannot afford to go to the doctors, so their health issues stay undiagnosed. The outcomes of HVAZ were to be able to give free checkups, nutrition information, and exercise to all the participating parishes. The nurses are flexible, and this organization is “run by the people …show more content…
This was divided into 3 parts, Better this was to ensure that primary (based in the community) and secondary (based in the hospital), working professionally together by sharing the patient’s information and to ensure that the patients get good service (Ministry of Health, 2011). Sooner, this was to create less waiting time for patients by ensuring the service given to the community by their (GP) general practitioners ran smoothly between different health services and also working as part of a team (Ministry of Health, 2011). A More Convenient way to cater to patients needs by sharing their information and working together and to ensure that their needs are taken care of, and moving more services closer to the communities (Ministry of Health, 2011). New Zealand initiative was to launch a number of health and primary health care systems which were based in the communities, that included general practitioner, nurses and other health groups (Ministry of Health, 2011). Alma Ata (1978) states that health care centres should be closer to where people live and work, that’s what HVAZ had achieved by being able to go to assess the community where they will be socially comfortable. HVAZ nurses provided better, sooner and more convenient services by getting to the community and assessing their health issues through their churches a place that was closer to them. They have been able to get

National Health Service (NHS) is the provider of healthcare to all citizens in England. At present many centres in the England are developing and conducting programmes to promote a multi-professional approach to working (Barr, 2002; Whittington, 2003). The NHS is steered by sequences of policies that are outlined by the Department of Health from time to time and has set up care trust which are partnerships with the NHS and the local council.
Public Health plays a big role in our society and has different duties that need to be carried out. The purpose of Pubic health is to help prevent epidemics and spread of disease. Public Health is supposed to help protect against environmental hazards and prevent injuries. They also promote and encourage healthy behaviors. The 10 Essential Public Health Services helps provide a foundation for any public health activity. These services provide a structure for Public Health and maintain a healthy environment for citizens. Each service helps fulfill different duties to ensure quality improvements in the public health systems. The public health services help as a foundation for the National Public Health Performance Standards. The three essential services are to inform, educate, and empower people about health issues, develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts, and link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise available.
The second key point focuses on primary care. To be able to have health care that is functional and effective it starts with primary care. “A robust primary care system is the cornerstone for a more equitable health care system” (Fiscella, 2011). Restructuring of this program in certain areas is important “payment reform, enhancing the training pipeline, transforming practice, and buttressing the primary care safety net” (Fiscella, 2011).
...e crucial change needed in health services delivery, with the aim of transforming the current deteriorated system into a true “health care” system. (ANA, 2010)
Primary health care is the essential step to the Canadian health system. It is often associated with other specialized health care sectors, and community services. Many patients visit various services under primary health care such as family doctors' offices, mental health facilities, nurse practitioners' offices; they make phone calls to health information lines, for example, Tele-health; and receive suggestions from physicians and pharmacists (First Ministers; meeting on healthcare, n.d.). This service can prevent patients from visiting the emergency department, when all that is required is some guidance and advice. Having primary care services can reduce the consumption of acute beds, where only seriously ill patients can use the acute beds when it is available. Primary care not only deals with sickness care, but it helps patients receive preventable measures; it promotes healthy choices (Primary health care, n.d.). The focus on appropriate health care services, when and where they are needed, enhanced the ability of individuals to access primary care in various settings: at home, in a hospital or any number of family health care venues, such as Family Health Teams (FHTs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), or Nurse Practitioner- led clinics. This paper will look at the litigious heated argument in the Romanow Report concerning primary care. It will begin with a discussion of the outcome of the Accord on Health Care Renewal (2003) and The First Ministers' Meeting on the Future of Health in Canada (2004), both referring to primary care, which will then be followed with an assessment and analysis of the different ways in which the accords have been addressed in support of primary care. Followed by a discussion about the changes on ...
Primary care clinics are essential in society for people who need urgent care right away or need a place where they know will be the customer service is going to excellent. Care facilities have to make sure they are to provide the patients with excellent care and services or be able to refer them to a place where their issue can be handled. When the opportunity comes for improvement, care facilities should find it essential to listen to their patients to make sure they’re being taken care of in the proper way and the care being given isn’t different from people who have insurance and from those who don’t.
Over the years, the nation has attempted to improve the country economical struggles with different plans such as healthcare plans which can make our country more beneficial. However, issues that started to affect the company growth are that the Health Care cost are going up, Doctor Shortage, Millions of dollars are wasted for unnecessary care and Medical errors. The US health care system has been spiraling out of control and new to be reform thus our nation can become a successful society.
healthcare system needs to be looked at as it can impact the future healthcare delivery. As Dr. Goodson (2010) explicates, there are “promises and perils for primary care”. Dr. Goodson looks at the promises of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) (2010) – reestablishing primary care in the U. S. healthcare delivery, funding for education and training of primary care physicians, ten percent increase in payment for five years with funding the payments for Medicaid. Dr. Goodson also gives an account of the perils of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) (2010) – decreasing number of primary care physician education and training which hinders the idea of full access to healthcare and the idea of fee capitation might restrict providing care for complicated and expensive healthcare
Healthy People 2020 have a number of goals such as having the community attaining high-quality, longer lives free of preventable disease, disability, injury, and premature death to all health groups with equality and without disparities; Advanced Practice Nurses (APN) is contributing to these goals through community medicine. Access to primary health care is getting harder every day (epically with low income populations) due to a number of reasons including; a decreasing number of physicians choosing primary care as their specialty and the cost of care. Without access to primary care the community cannot achieve the Health People 2020 goals, APN’s fills this void through a number of avenues from the private sector to the public sector while providing affordable healthcare.
How can healthcare provided by the government help all people? Over the year’s health care has gone up a significant amount. People cannot afford to pay for it, so many are not covered. Lots of people become sick and stay unable to receive treatment because they are not apart of health care or capable to pay for hospital expenses. The government should take responsibility for the people and take care of health care charges. The president, Barrack Obama came up with an affordable health care insurance called Obamacare. Medical expenses should not be a reason for people to stay unhealthy. Health care should be provided by the government because it can make people become healthier, save money and more life’s can be saved.
In today's health care environment many factors contribute to quality care. As a medical practice manager it is important to provide the best medical service for patients in addition to excellent levels of service. Appointment scheduling is a very important aspect of a smooth running medical practice. Appointment cancellation, no shows, and long waiting time by patients have a negative impact on the efficient running of the practice not only in lost revenue but the practices professional reputation as well (Kruse 2010).
The Alma-Ata encourages primary health care by bringing health to the communities instead of waiting for people to go for health. I tried to dispel my feelings of disgust for people that sabotaged their own mankind. Today, making a profit is ranked higher than the wellbeing of human beings and providing basic necessities for survival. This is especially true for pharmaceuticals companies who continue to support financial gain. I found relief from this injustice, with solace in corporations such as UNICEF and WHO that support global relief programs. They support humanity regardless of race, color or
Evidence of the health promoting power of primary care has increased ever since investigators have been able to differentiate primary care from other characteristics of the health services delivery system. Studies constantly show that primary care has a positive effect on health results. It reduces mortality and morbidity, and it is considerably more lucrative than specialty based care. Therefore primary care is essential. Some of the beneficial impacts of primary care on health are:
Primary health care is the indispensable care based on the real – world, systematically sound, socially adequate technique and technology which made unanimously available to the families and every individuals in the community through their fully involvement where the community is capable to afford at a cost to uphold at every phase of their growth in the essence of self-reliance and self-government. Primary health care in international health is associated with the global conference held at Alma Ata in 1978; the conference that promoted the initiative health for all by the year 2000. “Primary health care defined broadly at Alma Ata emphasized universal health care across to all individuals and families , encouraged participation by community members in all aspects of health care planning and implementation and promoted the delivery of care that would be scientifically sound , technically effective , socially relevant and acceptable” (Janice E.Hitchcock,2003). Primary health care is commonly viewed as a level of care or as the entry point to the health care system for its client. It can also taken to mean a particular approach to care which is concerned with containing care, accessibility, community involvement and collaboration between other sectors. The primary health care policy has some principals that have been designed to work together and be implemented simultaneously to bring about a better health outcome for the entire society.
