For years there has been a wonder drug, which has befriended countless sick patients in a number of countries. A relatively inexpensive drug that is not covered by health care plans, which has aided the ill both mentally and physically--marijuana. Significant scientific and medical studies have demonstrated that marijuana is safe for use under medical supervision and that the cannabis plant, in its natural form, has important therapeutic benefits that are often of critical medical importance to persons afflicted with a variety of
Life-threatening illnesses. Courts have recognized marijuana's medical value in treatment and have ruled that marijuana can be a drug of “necessity” in the treatment of glaucoma, cancer, AIDS, and multiple sclerosis. From the collection of information we now have on marijuana's health benefits for the ill, there is no longer any reason to keep it illegal. It should therefore be legal for licensed physicians to prescribe marijuana for terminal patients for whom it
Offers the only reasonable opportunity for living without unbearable pain.
Marijuana has been used many times to help ease pain and suffering. It often eases nausea in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, reduces the pain of AIDS patients and lowers eye pressure in glaucoma sufferers. Cancer and AIDS patients often lose a lot of weight, either due directly to their illness or indirectly to the treatment of the illness. Dramatic weight loss puts there
Lives in even more danger...
The hip hop culture began in the suburbs of New York over 30 years ago and has gone through drastic changes over this time. Hip Hop contains four different elements including: graffiti, rap, disc jockey and break-dancing. In the 1970’s, musical artists began to express themselves like Kool DJ Herc. Rap music began to spread through the urban neighborhoods of New York City and people used a new form of expression that gave a chance to sing about anything.
She is successful and ranks first. She slowly realizes that in the excitement of the day, the Dauntless leaders have again exercised their power by injecting a serum in members to fight Abnegation for them. This again shows the corruption of total power in society leaders. Realizing the control over fellow Dauntless members tris gets Four and they set out to reverse the serum and fight the simulation. The story continues in Roth’s second book of the Divergent Trilogy Insurgent. Divergent has been well received and in a review given by The New York Times, Susan Dominus wrote that it was, “rich in plot.” Common Sense Media commented on the book’s “deep message about identity and controlling societies” and on its unstoppable
To begin, what is hip-hop? Well hip-hop is a subcultural movement that developed during the early 1970s by African American youths residing in the South Bronx in New York City. The first official usage and creation of the term “hip-hop” is unknown because there are many individuals who claim that they were the 1st to use and create the term. Some of these individuals include: Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, The Sugarhill Gang, Lovebug Starski, and DJ Hollywood. Dualism is the view which states that there exists two types of substances. An immaterial entity that is responsible for our mental life, and a material body . It claims that both are able to interact and affect one another. In Difficulties for the Dualist by Smith, P. and Jones, O.R. , many problems are raised against dualism. I will focus on the nature of the mind/body interaction. The argument claims that the mind/body causal interaction is mysterious, and therefore materialism is the more attractive argument. I will disagree with the authors by arguing that body/body interactions are equally mysterious considering that both types of interactions both boil down to a rock-bottom explanation in which we can no longer further explain. I will then conclude that dualism is valid in claiming
On a more refined level of Erikson’s theories, James Marcia’s four levels of ego identity are observed. The four stages are; Identity confusion, when there is not crisis or active commitments; foreclosure, still no crisis but starting to form beliefs, goals and values; moratorium, active crisis and actively trying to seek a way to resolve crisis, and finally, identity achievement; one has gone through and resolved crisis, and now has firm beliefs and
“Hip-hop allows a kind of marriage between the rhetorical and the musical by means of some of the most amazing linguistic virtuosity we have seen in the English language. (West, 2008). Hip-hop first originated in the late 1970’s early 1980’s with animated, rhythmic bass and rhyming words. 1986-1991 was the golden era of hip hop artists such as Public Enemy. The term Hip-hop originated from an early New York rapper Lovebug Starkski. (Kunjufu 1993). The origins of rap are Black and Latino. (Dyson 2007). For instance, ballet. They are different because callet is stiff and hip hop is loose. The music for hip hop is usually rap, which is fast and energetic. The music that ballerinas dance to is slow and relaxing. Additionally, even though the two types of dances have differences, there are still some similarities. One similarity is that both of the dances take time to master. A quote from the text of “Dance Off” says,”Training to become a ballet dancer takes years of intense study.” The quote shows that, even though it only says ballet, they take a lot of time to
Hip-Hop is more than just rap, it is a lifestyle. According to Henry Rhodes in his article,

There are many other uses for medical cannabis including treating symptoms of IBS, Chron’s disease and other gastrointestinal disorders, pain relief from cancer and multiple sclerosis, the prevention of Alzheimer’s and helping individuals suffering from ADD, seizures or Tourette’s. Unfortunately, the federal government fails to see the many benefits of cannabis and clear proof shown in the countless peer-reviewed studies done through the years and instead maintains its classification as one of the most dangerous drugs with no acceptable medical benefits. More and more states are taking steps to regain their rightful authority from an over-reaching federal government, and taking the necessary steps to offer relief to many patients suffering from a wide array of maladies.
