Alzheimer’s disease is described as a progressive brain disorder that gradually destroys a person’s memory and clarity to learn, reason, make judgments, communicate, and carry out daily life. (r.1) Alzheimer’s is a disturbing disease affecting millions of elderly people. A person’s risk for the disease is fifty-percent when they reach the age of eighty-five.(r.1) Scientists have been studying the disease for many years now in hope to find answers to a cure for this depressive disease. The disease is persistently being studied with the hope of cures, and a better understanding of how one person can conquer Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease contains no known single cause. Scientists are patiently and determinedly …show more content…
There are possible steps a patient can take in order to post-pone the disease. Possible prevention methods include Estrogen Therapy, Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, Antioxidants, Cardiovascular exercise, and Continued education. Women who took estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) had a decrease of the disease 40% lower than those who did not (Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center). Studies on rats support the benefit of estrogen on the brain. The estrogen appears to alter the nerve cells and make them more sensitive to the hormone, NGF, and to stimulate production of acetylcholine, the chemical found in much reduced levels in Alzheimer’s patients. Anti-Inflammatory drugs allow a patient’s brain to respond better and keep mood swings at a lower level. Exercise keeps the patient active and their body responsive. Education is extremely helpful by challenging the mind to keep it active and alert. Scientists suggest crossword puzzles. (r.8) The brain is severely affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The Hippocampus is one of the earliest areas of the brain to be affected by Alzheimer’s. By stage five, the brain is already fifty-percent destroyed. Once the Hippocampus is destroyed, the patient may not recall the last three years of their lives. Eventually an Alzheimer patient can develop Visual Agnosia, where their brain will be unable to comprehend what it is seeing. The Motor Cotex is the last area of the brain to be affected by Alzheimer’s disease. At this point, the person will be unable to swallow, talk, or even
Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia that affects cognitive function in the elderly population. The exact cause of the disease is unknown but may include genetic as well as environmental factors. A progression of specific neurological changes allows the progression of the disease. Short-term memory losses along with dementia are typical symptoms of the disease. A definite diagnosis of the disease currently can only be confirmed by an autopsy. The disease progresses in five stages that will vary with every patient. There is no current acceptable treatment to reverse or stop the progression of the disease.
David Keirsey (2016) indicate the ENFJ personality type is only approximately 5% of the population. The personality type is known for “Sharing visions and actively engaging others - requires clarity of purpose and a special connection to people” (Plonien, 2015, p74). The test highlights that a favorable personality traits is being considerate of others and circumstances when contemplating the next planned action (Bevilacqua, Ciarapica, Germani, Mazzuto, & Paciarotti, 2014, p 860). Furthermore, ENFJs are identified as: helpers/supporters, global learners, people-centered leaders, and proficient at handling multiple projects at once (Humanmetrics. 2013 and Personality Max
The ability to be self-aware, identify specific personality traits, and assess personal strengths and weaknesses are powerful tools for lifelong personal and professional success. One of the most popular and trusted personality assessment tools utilized today is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (CPP, 2016). According to Meyers-Briggs Personality test my personality type is ESFJ also known as “The Caregiver.” An ESFJ is one of 13 personality types identified through the Myers-Briggs assessment tool (HumanmetricsInc, 2016). This assignment will identify the different aspects of my personality and how they work together. It will also evaluate strengths, weaknesses and organizational behaviors in an effort to maximize professional performance.
Alzheimer’s disease is a complex illness that affects the brain tissue directly and undergoes gradual memory and behavioral changes which makes it difficult to diagnose. It is known to be the most common form of dementia and is irreversible. Over four million older Americans have Alzheimer’s, and that number is expected to triple in the next twenty years as more people live into their eighties and nineties. (Johnson, 1989). There is still no cure for Alzheimer’s but throughout the past few years a lot of progress has been made.
In addition, using telenursing equipment results in the loss of face-to-face interactions with the patients. One of the main aspects that determine the success of the nursing practice is the relationships or connections between patients and nurses (Odnoletkova et al., 2014). Personal interactions enable the nurses to be familiar with and monitor the personalities of their patients while also offering nurses the opportunity of discussing individual problems, which may hinder their patients from sticking to healthcare advice.
Specifically, the ESFP personality is people orientated, enthusiastic, and outgoing. While lacking in the ability to stay on track and keep focused on the task at hand. All ESFPs prefer to work closely with people and will excel even further when they are surrounded by people they enjoy being around. The career opportunities are almost endless, as long as there is someone there they can communicate with, the ESFP is considerably happy. They connect easily with others and their down-to-earth attitude allows them to have the ability to reflect and adapt to their surroundings. Overall, the future for an ESFP is bright and they are able to do whatever they set their mind
... and health providers are beginning to realize the value and convenience of it. There are many benefits for certain types of patients, such as telemental health or patients with chronic diseases. Telehealth can also be effective in cases where physical contact is not permitted or in rural areas. Telehealth does have negative implications as well. In many hospital settings, nurses have found telehealth to be a burden, rather than an assistance. It is imperative that nurses and providers stay informed on the updates in telehealth technology. Telehealth should be incorporated into the general nursing school’s curriculum. At the rate technology is advancing, telehealth will be the widely accepted healthcare option worldwide. That being the case, young or future nurses, who will be using technology for years to come, should focus on telehealth and its relation to nursing.

Also are know as Champions, one of the four types belonging to the temperament he called the Idealists. Some people with the same type of personality are: Bill Clinton, Dr. Seuss, and Becky Smith.
In 2000, the American Red Cross was held in contempt of court for repeated violations in violation of the Consent Decree that they had signed with the Food & Drug Administration in 1993 (Wolfe, 2012). In 2003, the decree with modified to ensure greater safety measures. However, the Red Cross has been fined $47 million in penalties due to findings during inspections (Wolfe, 2012). One such fine was $9.6 million due to blood safety violations in 16 of 36 blood collection sites nationwide (Koleva, 2012).
... really sounded like my personality. They follow what is said to them and obey directions immaculately. Like ESFJs, supervisors are traditional and marriage are sacred to them. Also, they look forward to social parties and are easily talked to.
This could provoke an emotional response from the reader as in their mind, they’ve just witnessed a man die. The word ‘fell’ makes the reader feel pity for Harris, as it shows he didn’t die a peaceful death and might make the reader think he could’ve avoided the trauma if he hadn’t killed the teenagers. Despite the pity, it is not going to be change the mind of the readers who are adamant upon the punishment, as this response may have
... of the positive traits of ESFJs were accurate; the information regarding the way I interact with people, being dependable and being well organized was very precise. Also, the characteristics with reference to being an effective guidance counselor were similar to the characteristics of ESFJs, which informed me of the validity of personality tests.
When looking at something in a disinterested way it can be labeled as casual. Aesthetic experiences happen everyday, multiple times a day. What humans notice, judge, and define as an aesthetic experience differs, though. Philosophers study and fight to best comprehend and explain the phenomenon of the aesthetic experiences that are constantly happening. Philosopher Hans-George Gadamer does not believe that aesthetics are personal and specific pleasures obtained from art, but that aesthetics is the study of what objectively clues one’s abstract awareness of art. He is convinced that any painting worthy of being called art should instantly have an affect (Davey). Philosopher Marcia Eaton, on the other hand, describes aesthetics as the arousal of feelings and delight found in individuals rather
People with extraverted sensing feeling judging (ESFJ) personalities are known to be hard workers who value being in charge. One of the biggest strengths for ESFJs is the ability to recognize problems and delegate to resolve them. They are also known to play hard and find joy in entertaining others. Generally speaking ESFJs “wear their hearts on their sleeves” and therefore are easily wounded and have a difficult time controlling their emotions. While this trait is a weakness for many ESFJs it is also a strength as actors and actresses use this to express emotions through acting (Human Metrics Inc., 1998-2016).
Building a relationship with your patients is also an advantage with telenursing. Although you may not be able to see them, a bond can be made over the phone. Nurses earn their patients trust and respect by being compassionate and competent. These relationships help the telenurse to gather more detailed information on the patient which can help the nurse make the right decision when providing advice on treating the patients’ health care issues.
