The death penalty is a necessary evil that has a positive effect on society
today. It is an effective deterrent of crime as well as a safeguard for
society. It also helps to keep order in our cities. It is a just and effective punishment for those who have committed crimes heinous enough to deserve death.
The death penalty is not a new idea in our world. Its origins date back over
3,700 years to the Babylonian civilization, where it was prescribed for a
variety of crimes. (Capital Punishment p.10). It was also greatly used in the
Greek and Roman empires. It continued into England during the Middle Ages,
and then to the American colonies where it exists still today. In the
colonies, death was a prescribed punishment for crimes such as: murder, rape,
arson, and perjury. In America today, the main crime deserving death is
obviously murder. (Capital Punishment p.11-15).
Does the death penalty truly deter crimes and murder? This question is at
the heart of a heated political controversy over the punishment. Opposers to
the death penalty say no because of the large amount of people on death row
today. They also say that states that have the death penalty have a higher
crime rate than those that do not, and therefore it is not effective and
somewhat contributes to the problem. (http://www.rit.edu/~wwl2461/cp.html). I
must point out though that states that have the death penalty are usually
highly urbanized areas that most likely will have high crime rates because of
the large population. Rather, in rural states there is no need for the death
penalty because the population is most likely low and scattered throughout the
region. States that practice capital punishment do so because of high crime

see. It not only punishes those who commit the crimes, but also prevents
future crimes by scaring the would-be murderer with the consequence he would
pay for his actions. It has proven effective throughout history, and will
hold strong through the ages as long as people continue to be corrupt and
commit crimes.

On Tuesday, July 29, 1981, eight year-old Cheryl Ziemba, and her four year-old brother, Christopher, bodies were found in a coal dump in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Only two days after the bodies were discovered, fifteen-year old, Joseph Aulisio, a member of the search party, was arrested for the murders. He had lured the two kids into a house that was under construction and owned by his father and shot them from only 10 feet away, Cheryl was shot in the head and Christopher had been shot in the chest. To this day there has been no motive established as to why Aulisio wished to kill these two kids. Nearly a year later in May 1982, a jury sentenced the then sixteen year-old to death, who was casually chewing gum when the jurors presented him with his sentence and then turned to his dad and pumped his fist in the air yelling “It’s party time!”. It has been 34 years since that conviction, and Aulisio continues to sit in jail with no signs of remorse. So why wouldn’t the death penalty be enforced with someone so inhumane and removed from society? Why not eliminate this being from society ...
From the very beginning of this novel there is no respect for the Metis people. They are referred to as the ‘half- breed,’ the people in this community do not think that they deserve the respect to even call them by their proper name. Readers get the impression “right off the bat” that the tone of voice while even mentioning the aboriginals or metis is said with pure disgust. Hal is just a kid, and already readers become aware of what ideas have been put into his head regarding the aboriginal and metis people. He plainly says, “because they were bad (Wiebe 8).” This is already an in humane way of treating people. It shouldn’t matter where you come from, who your parents are, or what you have done in the past; everybody deserves an a...
Each year around 15 million United States residents are affected by Identity Theft. This causes financial losses of around $50 billion per year. The average amount of money stolen per victim is $4950! That is a lot of money that is just taken from people with little things they can do to affect their identity from being stolen. The most common age group for Identity Theft is 18-24. The 18-24 age groups hold over 20% of all Identities stolen. Did you know that around 6% of adults are affected by Identity Theft? People who steal other peoples Identities are just really rude. Most people work very hard to earn their money and when it gets stolen from them it is just wrong. According to statistic brain the Identity Theft fraud rate is growing very slowly each year, but it needs to be stopped completely.
The death penalty is not a new idea in our world. Its origins date back 3,700 years to the Babylonian civilization, where it was prescribed for a variety of crimes (Kronenwetter p.10). It was also greatly used in the Greek and Roman empires. In ancient Roman and Mosaic Law they believed in the rule of “eye for and eye.” The most famous executions of the past included Socrates and Jesus (Wilson p.13). It continued into England during the Middle Ages and then to the American colonies where it exist still today. In the colonies, death was a punishment for crimes of murder, arson, and perjury. Although today the death penalty is used for murder.
One of society’s main questions today is how can we lower the rates of these heinous crimes in our country. The answer is giving them the highest consequence for their crime: death. Although people have argued that issuing the death penalty does not deter crime, there is a significant amount of evidence to prove it HAS lowered crimes such as murder.
Identity theft may be a widespread drawback devastating close to eight million individuals every year. a standard situation involves a wrongdoer
Identity theft involves the fraudulent use of individual information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, and credit card numbers by thieves who are intent on using this information for personal gain. Law enforcement agencies around the world have responded to an alarming increase of identity theft cases.

The Death Penalty of the US. The thing that causes fear into everyone’s soul. It enforces what happens when you're insane with evil...or does it? Does it really enforce the law? Or does it just become another trait in court? The Death Penalty is not needed in all situations.
Law enforcements have stated that Identity Theft is the fastest growing crime in the U.S. It is also that fastest growing white collar crimes. It seems as if every day there is another security breach or someone’s account is hacked into and their account is going crazy because someone has your information and is using your money. Now a day in this generation it is so much easier to have your identity stolen. The reason why I say that because you have social media, email, smartphones that have all your information on there and its easier for people to get into. Rob Douglass, an identity theft expert and has been one for more than 15 years has been helping people avoid from having their identity stolen. The IBM has said that they were a billion records leaked that had contained personal information from people during the 2014 year. Things like this is what is so scary about identity theft which can cause a lot of problems under your household. The most important concern with all of this is that peoples personal and private information is not safe since the threat of people’s identity is constantly growing every day. In the state of Maryland, you can get up to 10 years for identity

Since the times of King Hammurabi of Babylon back in the Eighteenth Century B.C. the death penalty has been around. For good or bad, the death penalty was created as a deterrent to end crime through brutal and painful executions such as burning alive, being impaled, drowning, and crucifixion. Over the years, the way the death penalty works has changed and even been abolished by many countries. In America however, the death penalty is a widely discussed issue with many supporters on both sides on whether or not it’s inhuman or necessary. To me, the death penalty is inhuman and wrong.
III. Thesis Statement: Identity Theft is rapidly becoming a national issue because anyone of us could be a victim of identity theft. How we protect our self, keep our information private, identify any signs of identity theft, and report and repair our credit is up to each one of us. We have to be vigilant about our protecting ourselves from criminals.
