Personal Narrative- Knee Injury I was always an active person from being in sports to hanging out with friends. I always had something planned, or came up with something on the fly. My junior year in high school was a very tough time for me. I was involved in a lot of activities, organizations, and clubs. I was very active in one organization where I had to be up at school every morning at 7:15 for that meeting. Meaning I would not leave school sometimes until 6:45 to 7:00 in the evening. On the weekends I would have something to do either with friends or family. I would never go a weekend with nothing to do. Either I was out running errands or at the mall buying some new clothes. Since the end of the Cold War, the recruitment of child soldiers has been recognized as an increasingly global phenomenon. Although the majority of the relatively recent child soldier recruitment cases have developed from armed conflicts in Africa, by the beginning of the new millennium the trend increased globally, appearing on nearly every continent, including Asia, Europe and the Americas. The prevalence of this practice has turned it into a much talked about international issue. The aim of this paper is to look at how this issue is influenced and even aggravated by globalization. More specifically, it will be argued that globalization, expressed through the existence of international organizations, such as the United Nations, have been ineffective in putting a stop to child soldiery and that globalization, defined by the interconnectedness of world economies has lead to underdevelopment and therefore exasperated conflict and as a result child soldiery.

Overcoming an addiction to alcohol can be a long and bumpy road. Many people feel that it is impossible to overcome an alcohol addiction. Many people feel that is it easier to be an addict than to be a recovering addict. However, recovering from alcoholism is possible if one is ready to seek the help and support they need on their road to recovery. Hi I’m Mallorie, I’m 31 years old and this is My Arthritis Story. In the winter of 1995 at the age of 10 I came down with one of the many cases of strep throat. I started getting fevers and complaining of joint pain on a regular basis.
Child soldier is a worldwide issue, but it became most critical in the Africa. Child soldiers are any children under the age of 18 who are recruited by some rebel groups and used as fighters, cooks, messengers, human shields and suicide bombers, some of them even under the aged 10 when they are forced to serve. Physically vulnerable and easily intimidated, children typically make obedient soldiers. Most of them are abducted or recruited by force, and often compelled to follow orders under threat of death. As society breaks down during conflict, leaving children no access to school, driving them from their homes, or separating them from family members, many children feel that rebel groups become their best chance for survival. Others seek escape from poverty or join military forces to avenge family members who have been killed by the war. Sometimes they even forced to commit atrocities against their own family (britjob p 4 ). The horrible and tragic fate of many unfortunate children is set on path of war murders and suffering, more nations should help to prevent these tragedies and to help stop the suffering of these poor, unfortunate an innocent children.
I do not give up. Even though when things are stacked against me, I continue to push towards my goals. I did not give up sports after my first ACL tear, nor did I after the second and I finally gave up organized sports after the third ACL surgeries but I still participate in recreational sports. I don’t think there will ever be a time when I do not participate. This may not be smart but I will not give into fear. I still have not given up when I did not have superior standardized test results! I know that I am more than a test result. I am willing to stick through the program no matter how difficult it becomes.

In the past, I’ve made numerous mistakes. They all were very similar, most of them being related to school, sports, friendships, or even as simple as arguing with a parent. Although I had many, and learned quite a few lessons from them, most of these mistakes were not life changing. I would usually just be grounded by a parent, or get half credit on the homework because I didn’t do it correctly. Those mistakes were not as grand, or complex, or painful as my favorite mistake. I hadn’t realized until I reflected on the event, but my favorite mistake was when I broke my collarbone playing flag football in sixth grade.
I started wrestling in the seventh grade, and continued to wrestle in high school. I found wrestling to be a great sport to help me stay in shape, but also make great friends. Many of my friends in high school I made from the wrestling team. Everyone is very supportive of one another, through the many ups and downs wrestling has to offer. There are many injuries that one can suffer from such a rough sport. Many wrestlers end up getting injured during sometime of their wrestling career. My wrestling injury came when I was just a freshman on the wrestling team at Bishop Guertin. It was a time of much pain and recovery that I had to endure in order to make it back out on the wrestling mats. I was afraid and in a lot of pain when I got injured for the first time.
