Personal Narrative- My Dream

I picture myself center stage in the most enormous and fantastically beautiful theater in the world. Its walls and ceilings are covered in impeccable Victorian paintings of angels in the sky. A single ray of light shines down upon my face, shining through the still, silent darkness, and all attention is on me and me alone. The theater is a packed house; however, my audience is not that of human beings, but rather the angels from the paintings on the walls come alive, sitting intently in the rows of plush seats. Their warmth encompasses my body, and I know at that moment that it is time to begin.

I open my mouth. From deep inside my soul a melody flows out of my chest, off of my tongue, and finally caresses my lips with the sweetest touch, and my song fills the air with a boldness like that of the glory of the angels. The sound of my song is that of unfathomable wonder, a voice as sweet and smooth as the face of a child. I sing and sing and sing my heart out, and I wonder and wonder and wonder in awe of the sound that is coming from my mouth and my...

Dream Analysis: Personal Narrative Essay - “Such are the familiar dreams of falling from a height, of teeth falling out, of flying and of embarrassment of being naked” (Freud 69). These dreams that we experience, are believed to be representations of our desires or fears, according to Freudian ideology. Sigmund Freud also believed that there existed a structural model for our personalities that consisted of the id, ego, and superego. He held the idea that the id was an instinctual drive that relied upon the pleasure principle. Conversely, however outrageous the desire was, it was repressed by the superego....   [tags: pyschology, freud]

Essay on The Dream of Gold - Personal Narrative - The Dream of Gold - Personal Narrative As I dart through "the desert" in the last game of the day, with only a few balls left in my hopper, I can feel the air of crossfire speeding by my body. I dive to the ground, see my opponent and shoot, I cover him in paint, hes out of the game. Paintballing one of the more challenging, stratigic and fun games should definetly be adoped by the Olympics, and will be if people promote the sport. Although it would be an extremely hard process, competing for the glory of gold would be worth every little bit of effort....   [tags: Papers] 766 words

Essay on Personal Narrative- A Seinfeld Addict's Dream Come True - Personal Narrative- A Seinfeld Addict's Dream Come True My heart ached. As constant as the waves of the sea slap the rocks, so the emptiness lurked. The icy hand of desperation wrapped me up and constricted. I was suffocating in that dismal abyss of loathsome sitcoms. I lamented but nobody heard, my pain had no companions. "No. Why. Why. Why?" I cried. I dropped down on my knees and flailed my arms wildly. My lamentation sliced through the air like a blade through butter. "Worry not Michael, there is counseling available." my mom replied....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing] 3280 words

Personal Narrative: Death in a Dream Essay - Dream a Little Dream My grandmother always said, “you cannot choose between life or death while sleeping”. When you are sleeping, your body practically doesn’t belong to you. Its almost as though you have no control over anything that might happen to you in your dreams, especially if it is something dangerous. When I ask people why this happens, they theorize that a powerful force or being has entrapped your body. You could end up dying in your dreams, thus leading to your death or illness in reality....   [tags: Narrative Essay Dying Death Asleep] 944 words

Personal Narrative My Dream Computer Essay - Personal Narrative My Dream Computer When deciding what will run my dream computer, processor-wise that is, I am reminded of a friends computer that last year, was running with two Pentium III's, running at 650 Megahertz a piece. This year he is looking to upgrade on this design. I however, will be able to take his idea, and with money being no object, destroy the speed and reliability of his computer by installing two, one gigahertz Pentium III"s onto a Intel STL2 motherboard ($899). I chose this motherboard for it being one of the few on the market that comes with the capability of supporting dual processors....   [tags: Papers] 2210 words

Essay about My Father - From the tyrant lands of thriving Communism to the cerulean sea of unknown uncertainty, my father entered a new country with a limited suitcase and a great supply of reckless anticipation. However, in attaining the innumerable opportunities offered in the bountiful lands of unquestionable freedom and promised liberty, the prospect of convenience subsided in order to accommodate the dire need to implement the survival skills essential to enduring the hindrances of a foreign place: learning a different language, adapting to an unknown surrounding, and assimilating into an unfamiliar culture....   [tags: American Dream, Personal Narrative] 805 words

The Dreamer and the Dream Essay - The Dreamer and the Dream Even after all these years of dreaming I am still dumbfounded by the intricacy and originality of the "props" that lie scattered across the dream stage. One of my dreams, for instance, featured a carefully crafted letter from a past love which included a map of the Pacific Coast near Seattle with a cardboard sailing ship that slowly sailed south by southwest as I lifted the page. It was so clever that I wondered out loud "how did she do that?" and turned over the page to discover a small slit made rigid with a careful application of black wax....   [tags: Personal Narrative Essays] 1026 words

The American Dream and College Essay example - The American Dream and College My junior year of high school was filled with high emotions, stressful moments, and tension about where to apply to college and where I would be accepted and ultimately attend. At a “Making the Most out of your Sixth Semester” forum that year, the entire junior class experienced lectures from the school’s college resource counselors about how to prepare for this arduous battle of college admissions. The way Sue Biermert, who is the College Admissions Counselor at my high school, opened the forum was by asking a question to the parents that put everything into perspective: “How many of you parents feel like you are successful?” Every single h...   [tags: Personal Narrative Education College Essays] 5163 words

Essay on Personal Narrative- Parties - Personal Narrative- Parties Every weekend there is a party somewhere. Whether it is out at the "Momma," the lake, or even at someone's house, it is the "cool place" to be. Last year, I arrived at the Halloween dance not wearing a costume but expecting to have a great time with all of my friends dancing and listening to music. I overheard someone talking about a party that was going to start at Mary's house. Being invited to go with all of my friends, I didn't want to be the wimp of the group, so I decided to go along....   [tags: Personal Narrative Essays] 658 words
