Abortion and Euthanasia
Abortion is an operation carried out to remove the growing foetus from
its Mothers womb so that it can be destroyed. In the UK abortion has
been legal since 1967, when it was passed in parliament. The act says
abortion is acceptable if the pregnancy is no longer than 24 weeks.
The pregnancy involves the risks to the mental or physical health of
the pregnant women or any existing children of the family. There are
many points against abortion, these are: The unborn child is a
separate human being. It is never just part of a Mothers body. By
letting women have abortions, society is taking the easy way out. We
should create a society were no child is unwanted. A foetus has a
right not to be killed. People with the most serious handicaps can
still lead a happy life. A foetus is a potential human being; one day
it could be a person. Human life is sacred, this means life is
precious and that no one has the right to take life away only God. The
Christian church teaches life is a sacred gift. The Roman Catholic
Church states that life starts from contraception and should be valued
the same as a living breathing being. A Christian’s duty is to endorse
goodwill and treat others with respect and understanding and to value
them as people, so it should also be a Christians responsibility to
value an unborn child that way. Most denominations believe that as
soon as sexual intercourse has taken place if an insemination occurs
that foetus is a person, a person that god created for purpose and
nobody should take away that child’s right to life. In the Ten
Commandments God sates, ‘thou shalt not kill’. This is a direct order

see the world like this but not their right to make other people live
this way. Everybody holds their own beliefs on all moral issues and
they will act o their best judgement depending upon what these are.
Many of today’s modern churches such as The Orthodox Church and The
Quakers that have a more relaxed view on practicing their beliefs.
They do not try to convert anybody against their will. This is the
attitude needed by all Christians from whatever denomination in
today’s ever-changing world. Faith is low among all believers and
non-believers because of all of modern societies ills. Many question
why God allows the world and it’s people to endure so many horrors and
until these ills vanish Christians could not enforce their views
successfully on others.
As to any argument, there are two opposing sides when it comes to the matter of abortions. These two opposers usually refer to themselves as “pro-life” and “pro choice”. Pro-life supporters maintain that abortion is wrong and pro-choice believe that it is a woman’s freedom to choose her pregnancy decisions. When it comes to the topic of abortions, most of us will readily agree that it’s a woman’s choice to decide what her reproductive decisions are, i.e. pro-choice. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is in the question of whether or not abortion is a fundamental right granted to women by the Constitution. Whereas some are convinced that a fetus is considered alive at conception, usually citing the word of God, others maintain that
Abortion is a very controversial and sensitive topic in today’s society. Two different sides to this argument is pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life proponents believe in the right to life for unborn fetuses saying that abortion should be considered murder regardless of how far along in the pregnancy the woman is. Pro-choice advocates people who believe the woman carrying the fetus should be able to make her own decision on aborting the fetus.
God and that God is the only on who has the right to take life. In the
Pro choice vs pro life has divided people for numerous reasons. Abortion is expected to date back to the 1800s, it is now seen as taboo and inhumane to some. Fact of the matter, whether abortion is wrong or not it is the fight for giving a woman a natural right to her own body. For decades, legislators that are full of man have created laws and regulations on abortion. Abortion ideally ought to be pro choice for women everywhere for the victims' own protection, expanding young girls life opportunities, and individual freedom.
"If suicide is a right, then it is one that has remained undiscovered throughout the ages by the great thinkers in law, ethics, philosophy and theology. It appears nowhere in the Bible or the Koran or the Talmud. Committing suicide wasn't a "right" a thousand years ago, and it isn't one now. That's why most societies, including our own, have passed laws against it" (Callahan, pg. 71). Assisted suicide is murder!
One of the most disputed subjects into day’s society is abortion. Children have been sacrificed by millions of women all across the world. There’s always a powerful urge to vindicate the suffering, emotional pain, and deprivation by the mother and her significant other. Therefore, in any debate, you will run up against an invisible brick wall. Which means even the greatest Knowledge will neglect to influence. When it comes to abortion the best way to tackle the subject is through facts. Some of the wondrous arguments stem from the law, science, and the rights women have to aid the pro-life case opposed to abortion.

For many years people have always argued about abortion and the rights a woman has to her body regarding abortion. Like with any other argument there are two sides, there is a pro-life side (where there are people that are against abortion) and then there is a pro-choice sides (where people think abortion is an okay thing). The pro-life side of the argument would state that you are killing a life, there are alternatives, and abortion can cause medical complications later on in life. The side that is pro-choice would argue that abortion is a safe medical procedure, a woman needs to have ability to control her body, and there are reasons why they should not carry out with the pregnancy.
“Any American born after 1973 is a survivor of legalized abortion” (“Abortion”). This quote struck me because of its frankness. After it was legalized, many women had an option to abort their pregnancy against the Catholic Church’s wishes. Any child that was born after that year could have been aborted. This shows that many of the people that are living today could have been killed simply because the mother did not want them and they were considered to not be living in the womb. Being here today, many people survived the mass murder that is abortion and still continues today. The Church urges every mother to think about the morals and laws that God has sent to us. “You shall not kill” (Exodus 20:13). This includes the fetus in the womb that has been alive since conception. The views of the Church and the views of society fight against each other constantly. Abortion is the killing of a human being and is accepted by modern society despite it being against the teachings of the Church and moral good.
An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Abortion is and has always been an important matter. Abortion is a growing issue in America because; it affects many people; the women who will have the child, and the men who conceive the unborn fetus. When it comes to the Pro-life v. Pro-choice discussion the controversy approaches when the idea of life is defined. Most religious people are pro-life because they think that life is create the moment that the child is conceived they also believe that the fetus should be protected. While others believe that each women should have the right to decide what happens to her body. Those who believe in pro-life don’t understand that there are reasons why women choice to abort and that abortion can’t be beneficial. If abortions were made illegal it would take the right to choose what happened to her body which would question our rights. If the government was able to force a woman to continue a pregnancy could they force a woman to use contraception or undergo sterilization to prevent pregnancy? These questions seem ridiculous, but if our government can force us to continue pregnancy what else can they do. The fact of the matter is that women deserve to have a choice.
All About Abortion “ Each year, nearly 1.2 million American women have an abortion to end a pregnancy.”(www.webmd.com) The personal and controversial topic that continue to be a debate in America. Abortion is one of the most controversial topics in today society. Many question should woman have the right to terminate her pregnancy, which is primarily known as abortion. Many argue that it is on humane to allow abortion, that abortion is almost like committing murder and not giving how the right to live.
The Oxford English Dictionary defines euthanasia as “the action of inducing a gentle and easy death” (Oxford English Dictionary). Many people around the world would like nothing more than to end their lives because they are suffering from painful and lethal diseases; suffering people desperately seek doctors to help them end their lives. Many people see euthanasia as murder, so euthanasia is illegal in many countries. Euthanasia is an extremely controversial issue that has many complex factors behind it including medical costs, murder and liberty rights. Should people have the rights to seek euthanasia from doctors who are well trained in dealing with euthanasia?
Who owns your life? In the case of Canadians, the choice to die is not in your hands…unless you decide to break the law. Sue Rodriguez, 42, from British Columbia, fought the Supreme Court of Canada, challenging the prohibition against Euthanasia. She lost to a vote of five to four. Sue later took her life with the help of an anonymous doctor. Ironically, Canada was founded upon the principles of rights, freedoms, and dignity. Why do our rights end when faced with Euthanasia? Does freedom from suffering not apply? How does artificially prolonging life respect human dignity? The act of Euthanasia poses many questions because there is an element of control. The following paper will examine why the control should be in the hands of the individual: Fundamentally, controlling one’s life should be an independent choice; additionally, the majority of Canadians are in favour of euthanasia; moreover, many arguments against euthanasia are invalid.
The Legalization of Euthanasia Human rights have always been a piece of America’s development, and today these rights make up the freedom’s we have as the people. Being able to accept or decline medical attention is one of those rights. This means that patients have the right to tell a doctor if he or she does not want to be treated in any way even if they are on their death bed, and the doctor must do as the patient says. As those patients denying medical attention on their death beds are choosing their fate, we should be able to do the same without being in that situation. For now the law says that a physician cannot assist suicide; this law affects those who are already dying from incurable diseases.
