Miracles
(i) Explain the term 'miracle'
The word miracle can have different meanings for different people and
when it is applied to different situations it’s meaning can alter.
From a religious perspective, a miracle is a word used to describe a
phenomenal event for the good of a person, which is believed to have a
divine cause, i.e., it is linked to God's action. In today's secular
society it could be any wonderful or surprising event like the birth
of a baby. Whether a person believes this is an act of God or not,
they may still look upon at as a miracle. The word miracle is
sometimes used for manufacturing purposes; 'This moisturiser works
miracles!' Again, it depends on ones personal definition of a
'miracle' as to whether this is true or not.
For Christians a miracle is a sign, or something of significance
pointing towards Jesus, showing his divine power, which includes the
power of God acting in, with or through Jesus. Miracles didn't just
take place when Jesus was alive; The Old Testament shows they happened
before his time and still take place today. In Luke's Gospel, the
miracles that Jesus performed were significant events taking place
through, what appears to be God's power to save and resulting in
something astonishing to marvel at. It is rarely suggested that Jesus
performed magic or violated the laws of nature for evil purposes.
So are miracles things which we consider 'impossible' such as a person
who has been brain dead for 24 hours suddenly getting up or if your
cat started doing the housework! In the bible miracles are seen as
something else they are seen as signs of the power of God. The Jews

meaning of healing and healing miracles. The individuals and groups
that have felt driven to dedicate their lives to helping to heal
others have transformed lives and contributed greatly to achieving to
kingdom of God that Jesus first established.
In Jesus’ day, the attitude towards miracles was very different to
today. When Jesus performed miracles, they were expected and were part
of peoples’ lives. But now that we have gone through changes in
science, religion, etc, we have came to completely forget about
miracles as they very rarely happen.
The Christian Churches often help people searching for God’s help by
organising parish pilgrimages and prayer groups for local members of
the congregation amongst other things to try and help a group to find
the help they need from God.
Miracle is a 2004 American sports movie based on real events about the United States national men’s hockey team, which are led by the Coach Herb Brooks portrayed by Kurt Russell. The United States team is formed by players of college hockey, and they are huge underdogs going into the run for the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics. They are against the Soviets who are considered the best team in the world having won consecutively the gold medal for the last four editions of the Winter Olympics. Plus, the Games are set during the Cold War; which makes their confrontation even more important. The movie starts when Herb gets interviewed by the United States Olympic Committee, and after some uncertainty he gets the job. He watches the players

According to Dr. McCarthy de Mere, a medical doctor and law professor at the University of Tennessee, "The exact moment of the beginning of personhood and of the human body is at the moment of conception." This is suggesting that once a child is conceived, it should be recognized as a human. Furthermore, he explains how at just eighteen days after conception, the fetus’ heart begins to beat and after just eight weeks after conception, all body systems become present on the fetus. I feel strongly that if everyone was aware of these numbers that the numbers alone could convince the public to think twice before aborting a child. In situations where it was the mother’s idea to have sex and she got pregnant, it is cruel to allow her to, in a sense, punish her child for actions that she could have prevented. Everyone knows exactly wha...

Kerby Anderson’s “A Biblical View of Abortion,” shows the aspect of abortion from the point of view of the Holy Bible. Anderson says that no where in the Bible does it actually say that abortion is wrong, just only that it was the unthinkable. It was said that children were viewed as a gift or heritage from the Lord. Also the scriptures said that God was the one opens and closes the womb. And it was said to be a curse to be without a child. Anderson mentions that David has a relationship with God while he was developing and growing before birth. David was also seen as “God’s creative work within his mother’s womb” (Anderson). He also says that if a woman is to give birth and the baby dies, or is stillborn, then the law of relation is used. “A baby inside the womb is treated as a baby outside the womb” (Anderson). Anderson uses examples and passages from the Holy Bible to show evidence that the Bible is against abortion, and so is Anderson.
Hebrew and christian scriptures do not denounce abortion or suggest a fetus is a person
Because of the recent technological advances in genetic engineering, parents could have the choice not only to pick and choose their children’s physical appearances, but many personality traits and talents as well. As amazing and unreal as this seems, for some people a chance to create their baby’s characteristics is a dream come true. Parents can build almost every aspect of their child, taking away the faith most people have in God. The belief that He created man, makes designing and choosing characteristics in a child seem to belittle God. Altering a child‘s genetic makeup also takes away from the idea of a baby being a miracle from God because people would have the choice to change and design possibly any aspect of their child. Parents choo...
Activist say that abortion is murder, having scientist to prove human life becomes real as soon as the fermentation process beings. One of God’s commandments states “you shall not kill”, which is extended to unborn children. Church continues to teach the results or procreation from the moment of the child’s existence including body and spirit as well. Women are apparently conflicted when choosing to get an abortion, feeling psychologically forced to have an abortion, that the people who are responsible for the peer pressure fall on people who encourage the spread their attitude toward sexual permissiveness and their lack of esteem towards motherhood, and not only is the mother of the child being aborted responsible but the father as
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate “(Psalm 127:3-5). That bible shows that child is the gift of God. They are a gift that is given from God. Protecting their life from any danger should be our adult human being first priority. Fetus is the most break-able and so innocent creatures. They cannot protect themselves and save their life from any dan-ger. God gave the child to us so we protected and save them not to damage and risk their life. According to the life new report 1.2 million babies die from abortion just in the USA. Lauren (Henriquez, 2013) Abortion statistic. It is very sad news. Imagine the new coming generation which their life is cut in short because of unethical law that exist in the country. It is an extraor-dinary loss. The country is losing a future doctor, investors, teachers, solider, farmers etc. Fetus regardless of the age should have the right that every one of us. They should have the right of life and being protected from any
* Fetus as Living Entity - They look at the fetus and see a tiny human, who quickly develops feet, hands, and other human appendages, as well as rudimentary forms of all the systems that you find in a fully developed human. Not to mention the fact that the fetus is capable of movement. Clearly, this small being must be "alive". Perhaps the most compelling testaments to this theory are the rare ca...

Luke's Gospel - Miracles Section A i) The definition of a miracle is: An event or effect contrary to the established constitution and course of things, or a deviation from the known laws of nature; a supernatural event, or one transcending the ordinary laws by which the universe is governed. However, other definitions claim that a miracle is simply a wonderful. or an amazing event. Today we use the term miracle colloquially to mean the latter, however traditionally the first definition is technically more correct.
... mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139:13). Both of these verses talk about God creating the baby and watching over him even before he was born. The Bible clearly views the unborn as a person. Genesis 25:21-22 says, "Rebekah became pregnant. The babies struggled together in her womb." (Genesis 25:21-22). Luke 1:41 says, "When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb…" (Luke 1:41). Both of these verses clearly view the unborn as a person; neither verse refers to the unborn as anything except a baby. Psalm 51:5 says, "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." (Psalm 51:5). This says that a child is sinful from the time of conception, but how can something that is not yet a person be sinful? Abortion breaks one of the simplest, moral standards: "You shall not murder."
