ICT and the Deaf

This course work I have been given by my ICT teacher is about disabled

people in the world and how they make use of modern technology. I have

also been asked to investigate a disabled person I know and how that

person makes use of ICT in his or her life activities. With this task

I will first introduce the person I will be investigating who is also

a deaf person. It will also include how the person actually uses the

modern technology.

Born into a notorious Queen’s drug dynasty during the late '70s,

Curtis Jackson lost those closest to him at an early age. Raised

without a father, his mother, whose name carried weight in the street

(hint, hint, dummies), was found dead under mysterious circumstances

before he could hit his teens. The orphaned Mr. Curtis was taken in by

his grandparents, who provided for his. But his desire for things

would drive him to the block. This in his case was the infamous New

York Avenue, now known as Guy R. Brewer Blvd. There, his stepped up to

get his rep up, amassing a small fortune and a lengthy rap sheet. But

the birth of his son put things in perspective for the post

adolescent, and his began to pursue rap seriously. He signed with JMJ,

the label of Run DMC DJ Jam Master Jay and began learning his trade.

JMJ would teach the Mr. Curtis buck to count bars and structure songs.

Unfortunately, caught up in industry limbo, there wasn't much JMJ

could do for his. There was an explosion one day during his drug

dealing activities and that was the end of his hearing. He became deaf

ever since and uses much technology which helps him in his music

industry.
