PABLO NERUDA
Does the poet develop the poetry or the poetry develops the poet? Pablo Neruda is a figure in literature and poetry, he is also a well-known diplomat. He wrote numerous poems that focused on a variety of genres. He also wrote a special poem about Spain during the Civil War called "Spain In My Heart". The challenges and problems Pablo Neruda faced throughout his years of poetry and Diplomacy developed his way of writing poems.
Pablo Neruda's place of birth, Chile, provided a constant geographical and emotional center for his poetry and political concerns. He was born on the 12th of July 1904. Neruda lived a successful life filled with poetic and political events before his death on the 23rd of September 1973, aged 69. Throughout the 69 years, Neruda won many prizes and awards regarding his poetry. He won the International Peace Prize in 1950, the Stalin and Lenin Peace Prizes in 1953, and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. Pablo Neruda published around 50 books and several poems. His poems mostly focused on love, nature, fiction, public, and personal poetry. He also wrote about politics due to the high position he held as a Diplomat, such as, The Consul of Spanish Immigration, Consul General in Mexico, Senator of Chile's Republic, Chilean Ambassador to France, and a nomination for Chile's President. According to The Academy of American Poets, "Neruda was named Chilean consul in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1933. While there, he began a friendship with the visiting Spanish poet Federico García Lorca.".

He was a successful poet. His poems and books are well-known. This made him a figure to many of those in the field of literature who were influenced by his poetry. In addition, he was a powerful Diplomat and his writings had a large impact in politics either in his country or in the region. Pablo Neruda developed his poetry. The high positions he held as a Diplomat made his poems powerful and have large impacts regarding the subjects he is writing about.

But in order to get a better grasp on García Márquez's life, it helps to understand something first about both the history of Colombia and the unusual background of his family.
In today’s modern view, poetry has become more than just paragraphs that rhyme at the end of each sentence. If the reader has an open mind and the ability to read in between the lines, they discover more than they have bargained for. Some poems might have stories of suffering or abuse, while others contain happy times and great joy. Regardless of what the poems contains, all poems display an expression. That very moment when the writer begins his mental journey with that pen and paper is where all feelings are let out. As poetry is continues to be written, the reader begins to see patterns within each poem. On the other hand, poems have nothing at all in common with one another. A good example of this is in two poems by a famous writer by the name of Langston Hughes. A well-known writer that still gets credit today for pomes like “ Theme for English B” and “Let American be American Again.”

Al año siguiente se matriculo en la Facultad de Ciencias Politicas de la Universidad Nacional y edito en diario "El Espectador" su cuento, "La primera designacion". En 1950, escribio una columna en el periodico "El Heraldo" de Barranquilla, bajo el seudónimo de Septimus y en 1952, publico el capítulo inicial de "La Hojarasca", su primera novela en ese diario, en el que colaboro desde 1956. En 1958, se caso con Mercedes Barcha. Tienen dos hijos, Rodrigo y Gonzalo. Gabriel Garcia Marquez, quien esta radicado en Ciudad de Mexico desde 1975, en una vieja casona restaurada por el mismo, es amigo cercano de inportantes personalidades mundiales, lo fue de Omar Torrijos y conserva fuertes lazos con Fidel Castro, Carlos Andres Perez, Francois Miterrand, los presidentes de Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia y otros muchos. El 11 de diciembre de 1982, despues de que por votacion unanime de los 18 miembros de la Academia Sueca, fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Literatura por su obra. La vida y obra del Nobel Garcia Marquez ha sido reconocida publicamente: en 1961 recibio el Premio Esso, en 1977, fue homenajeado en el XIII Congreso Internacional de Literatura Iberoamericana; en 1971, declarado "Doctor Honoris Causa" por la Universidad de Columbia, en Nueva York; en 1972, obtuvo el Premio Romulo Gallegos por su obra "La Candida Erendira y su abuela desalmada". His most favorite thing while writing books and essays and poetry was using words to force his readers to rethink their own lives and obstacles creatively. He always spent his life rethinking his past and future actions, thoughts, asking questions to get a better understanding of concepts. He loved to look to nature for greater intensity and meaning for his life.
William Butler Yeats is a famous Irish poet, yet as a student he did not do so well in his Math and English course. During his education, it was known that he did remarkably poor in mathematics and language as student. Is that surprising that a well-known poet, such as William, to be a poet if he did not do well in language? Pablo Picasso Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano Holy Trinity Clito Martyr Patricio Ruiz and Picasso was born October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain , parents of Jose Ruiz Blasco and Maria Picasso y López . Picasso had two younger sisters Dolores and Concepción , called Conchita , who died at the age of four. Conchita 's death affected Picasso in the coming years in later life . Picasso died in France in April 1973. Picasso 's family was middle class . His father, Ruiz , was a painter and most of his life Ruiz was a professor of art at the School of Crafts and a curator of a local museum. Ruiz encouraged his son and helped him with his art. Perhaps because of his parents work , Picasso had a love and a skill for drawing from an early age . In fact , his mother reported that his first word was pencil. His mother and father encouraged him to dream and both go their own way . "When I was a kid , my mother told me . ' If you become a soldier , you'll be a general If you become a monk you'll end up as the Pope ,'" recalled later. "Instead, I became a painter and ended up as Picasso. " ( Source A) It was obvious to her parents that Picasso had a natural ability as an artist and his ability only grew as he aged .
Pablo Picasso, a man with no inspirational limits, which has been portrayed throughout his art pieces. He was not only an amazing influential artist, Picasso was also a peace advocate. He brought new techniques and styles to the world of modern art. Political views and his desire for peace were shown throughout many of his now very famous pieces of artwork. Pablo Picasso influenced the world by changing the ways of art, and showing us that paintings can have a deeper meaning which can impact the lives of many.
Some say he was superstitious, sarcastic, awful towards his children, and horrible to women. He could very well have been all those things, but one thing I know Pablo Picasso was a great artist. He is one of the fathers of cubism, he had an audience of at least tens of millions. No other painter or sculptor before him had the fame that Picasso had.

Picasso received early training with his father, a small-town drawing teacher. Picasso showed that he had natural talent and had taken his father’s teaching to a new level. After some time in and out of sessions at art school in Madrid and Barcelona, Picasso spent the rest of his adolescence associating with a group of Catalan modernists who met and worked together at Els Quatre Gats in Barcelona. After some time there, he moved to Paris, where he quickly found of like-minded poets and painters. His work during that time began to attract serious critical attention and acclaim by the time he was twenty.

Picasso had shown a great artistic talent in his early childhood years. At 14 years old, Picasso adopted his mother's less common name. Changing Ruiz to Picasso. Shortly after this event, Picasso had finished his one month qualification exam into the Acadamy of the Arts in Barcelona. The only exceptional thing about this was that Picasso had done this in one day. Picasso stayed with the acadamy for three years, before deciding to move to San Fernando where he would then attend the Acadamy of San Fernando until the turn of the century. Picasso then joined up with the group of aspiring artists. Pablo Picasso was probably the most famous artist of the twentieth century. During his artistic career, which lasted more than 75 years, he created thousands of works, not only paintings but also sculptures, prints, and ceramics, using all kinds of materials. He almost single-handedly created modern art.

Picasso was one of the inventors of cubism. ” Les Demoiselles d'Avignon” is one of Picasso famous paintings; this is also one of Pablo’s first pieces of cubism. Picasso went through different phases in his paintings; the blue period, rose period, black period, and cubism. Picasso was a born talented artist, with his dad setting the foundation; Picasso became the famous artist of the twentieth century.
Pablo Neruda is from Chile and gives a voice to Latin America in his poetry (Bleiker 1129). “The United Fruit Co.,” the poem by Pablo Neruda that will be analyzed in this essay, is enriched with symbolism, metaphors, and allusions. These allusions have great emphasis to the Christian religion, but some allusions are used to evoke negative emotions towards the United States (Fernandez 1; Hawkins 42). Personification and imagery along with onomatopoeia and metonymy are also found in “The United Fruit Co.” Neruda’s use of these literary devices makes his messages of imperialism, Marxism, and consumerism understandable (Fernandez 4). In this essay each of these literary devices with its proper meaning will be further analyzed in the hope of achieving a more complex understanding of Neruda’s message.
Neruda begins his sonnet in a most unusual manner. He states in the first few lines ways in which he does not love his companion. He does not love her as if she were “the salt-rose, topaz, or arrow of carnations.” These are all examples of beautiful things that are to be admired. Each one is a bright and colorful breed of rose. The poem is not implying that this person is unattractive. Rather, it is simply stating the unimportance of her appearance in relation to his love for her. The beauty within her soul charms him. The narrator is completely captivated with this person. Neruda uses emotions to portray love in his poem. “Sonnet XVII” does not describe a love for someone who has done kind things or someone who has been there emotionally, mentally, and physically for another. It describes a love that is illogically based on intense affection alone.
In the poem “A song of Despair” Pablo Neruda chronicles the reminiscence of a love between two characters, with the perspective of the speaker being shown in which the changes in their relationship from once fruitful to a now broken and finished past was shown. From this Neruda attempts to showcase the significance of contrasting imagery to demonstrate the Speaker’s various emotions felt throughout experience. This contrasting imagery specifically develops the reader’s understanding of abandonment, sadness, change, and memory. The significant features Neruda uses to accomplish this include: similes, nautical imagery, floral imagery, and apostrophe.
