Emergency room physicians see many incommensurable types of injuries everyday. The six most common injuries occurring in the ER are from trampolines, lawn mowers, playgrounds, swimming pool, bikes, and burns. These kinds of damage are all things that ER physicians could see on a daily basis. From acquiring all this knowledge, I have decided that I want to enter the field of medicine, as an emergency room physician. Granted that emergency room physician jobs are stressful, due to the fact that they are dealing with injured and upset people 24/7. WIthin the medical field there are always risks of personal harm. Due to the risk this occupation holds has intrigued me from the beginning. Also to further gain my knowledge on what emergency room physicians do, I went to various sites on the internet. These sites informed me about the emergency room physician job description, characteristics, salary and everything I need to know about emergency room physicians.
For this job there are some unifying characteristics an ER physician must be capable of. Some of the attributes that fit this occupation are quick thinking, being friendly, having confidence, and having a genuine passion for the field of medicine. Knowing these principles and looking back to the multiple personality survey as well the values survey results, I fit right into the medical field. Personally I possess characteristics of quick thinking, being considerate, and being kind. Along with those values, I genuinely have a drive and love for studying medicine. There is also the fact that I could go to work everyday and help others makes the job all worthwhile. Besides helping others, the mystery that this job brings drives me to enter this line of work. ...erested me about this career. Also making bonds with my co-workers excites me, because I like to make good bonds with the people in my life. I am very excited to do a job shadow of an ER physician because it will give me hands on experience as well as show me if this is really the career I want to pursue.
ER physicians triage people and help a range of injuries. To become a physician you have to take many years of schooling. Physicians have to be friendly and have the skill of controlling other people’s emotion in a positive way. They spend mostly 90% of their time in the ER which can be really stressful, but they have to be able to stay calm and be very prepared for anything that comes into the emergency room. This is a career that I would want to pursue because it fits into my personality and my values. I am very excited to job shadow an emergency room physician.
