Philosophy on Education

Education what is it? Is it only, how it is defined, as the imparting and acquiring of knowledge through teaching and learning? Is education only something you receive in a school. Education to me begins at birth; a journey that has begun, as you experience new things you learn and grow mentally and emotionally. By the time a child begins school they have learned a multitude of things which include a number of things like walking, speaking, listening this is just the beginning of their learning career. My beliefs are that all children can learn they have a right to be educated and be safe in the environment in which they learning in are, these things are a must.

To begin with I believe that every child or person can learn. How much they learn is different as everyone is different. Yes, I know that there are children with special needs, but they to can learn. Mental development is a must in order to grow emotionally. Limits should not be set or taken for granted if a child has special needs or is slow. Not all children or students will have the capabilities to be at on level classes, this does not mean that they should be considered not worth teaching. They need to learn life skills in order for them to become productive in their lives. Learning doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be academic. Learning is something people do each day. We need to make sure that we produce life long learners and by starting early we can capture and stimulate their minds. We also have student that have language barriers, I do not believe that they should be penalized for that; they deserve to have an education too. Homeless children and at risk also need an education. People often forget that we have this type of...

Certain people find this intrusive, but they need to understand that it is done with the safety of our children in mind.

So you see I have some very stong beliefs in which all children should receive and

deserve to have the oppourtunity to become a success. How we measure success should be according to the individual. Not every one is going to be a doctor, a lawyer or teacher.

We need to fill many positions in our society that is why we need to be versital in our teachings. However, I definitely believe that all children regardless of needs and obstacles have the capability of learning. And that every child has the right to an education in a safe environment.
