Everyone wants to be something from a doctor to a stylist, I want to be a mechanical engineer. This is something I have always wanted to do in my life, the opportunities that exist in this field can lead to anything. Mechanical engineers are able to do many tasks in the job environment from designing, to developing, and also building. In addition, as new companies are starting up they will need mechanical engineers to help them develop their product. My career goal is to become an Auto Mechanic and Shop Owner. Being an Auto Mechanic intends to have a variety of skills such as: having knowledge on a variety of knowledge with different car companies, the ability to diagnose the problem quickly and repair it fast and to perfection. They also have to have knowledge on every car part and currently be great with electronics. A shop owner has to be good with business, numbers, customer relationships, have the knowledge of an Auto Mechanic. The talents that I have to become an Auto Mechanic and a shop owner are that I have basic knowledge on cars, their parts, where to get cheap parts, good speaking skills. I’m beginning to be able to do a diagnosis on a car, I’m also good at electronics. I also have a few mentors helping me out.

They are also higher Mechanical Engineering jobs that you can go for like the Professional Engineer in this field you have to go through ABET to get a license so you can do any job in the Mechanical Engineering field other than the one that I have majored in.(“CFNC.org - Career Profile”). While some engineering disciplines are able to function successfully by staying within their specialized realm of thought, this is not the case for mechanical engineers. In order for a mechanical engineer to successfully address the technical problems of today, or to improve upon current technology, a great deal of creativity is needed so that new and innovative ideas can be formed. Lastly, and possibly most importantly, mechanical intuition is needed for a mechanical engineer to flourish. While an education in mechanical engineering may provide the skills needed to address mechanical problems, to do so in a particularly successful manner requires a certain degree of innate understanding of how things interact physically. My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field.
