Social Injustices to the Chinese People.
Everyday people in China are suffering from their government. From being wrongly accused to being executed for minor crimes. In a country where you cannot speak your opinions, talk badly about government officials, talk about Chinese communist failures, or even browse the internet freely. China has kept it’s citizens in the dark. One example is the great firewall of china which sensors most social media and other sites. This essay will go into some individual stories of the chinese governments unfair social injustices towards its people.
My first statement is a story about a man named Liu Hai. He was working at a mine in china under quite harsh conditions. When he collapsed on the job. He was taken to the hospital and died 72 hours later. This seems like it would be a work related injury, but it was not. The chinese law says that work related injuries are only valid it the person dies after 48 hours. So Liu Hai’s wife was stuck with a 40,000 yuan bill. She could not afford it so she went to work at a landscaping project outside of Qindao. She states that “I couldn’t move the big stones, so I moved the small ones. I got tired using the wheelbarrow to move soil so I would only fill it halfway. By night time my whole body was hurting and the pain was so bad I could not sleep.”
“My daily expenses were less than four yuan. I would only buy the cheapest foods I could find. Sometimes if I wanted meat I would buy two chicken heads and cook them.”
“After finishing the job we moved to another work site where the contractor said we would be paid there. After working a total of 82 days we had still not been paid.
This is just one of the awful stories that the chinese government has put one o...

... problem is that most schools abuse this law, and they end up forcing the children to do a lot of heavy labor. Which is against chinese law, but the government doesn’t do a very good job of enforcing it. So these children will work 14 hours a day, live in a cardboard box, receive little food and water, just for 26 cents an hour! Unbelievable, that is less than four USD a day. This is just another of many social injustices within the hidden walls of China.
China is the story of a County that tried to contain their citizens from the outside world, tried to make the people work for basically no pay, set up inhuman laws, and other terrible deeds. But the scary thing is that they got away with it. The government is too powerful to be questioned and it will stay that until people find out about these offences. That is the only way China will be a fair and just country.

The film Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry is in part about how the government responds to Ai Weiwei’s controversial artwork. Over the course of the film, he is beaten, watched, and arrested because his art goes against the Chinese government. The government tries to censor any content that may show them in a bad light, which prevents revolts from taking place in China since they never hear about the injustices that have occurred. Ai Weiwei, however, utilizes technology to spread information about what is going on: he uses blogging and recording as ways to make sure the government can’t hide what has happened. This Communist government, however, wants sole control over the economy and the politics of the country, but much of Ai Weiwei’s artwork fights against what the government is trying to force onto its’ people through the spread of information. With the technology Ai Weiwei uses, he is able to display the evidence of the injustices that are occurring in China, including posting the names of Sichuan earthquake victims on his blog and recording the police assaulting him. This way he can spread the information
China is the perfect example of what happens when one leader is given to much
It was a terrible situation for people in China. It’s because of “Great Leap Forward”, which is led by Mao. Also the economy is really bad because they have no food. But some of them got richer and richer specially the scientists, mangers and some of the CCP members. Mao doesn’t like what was happening because it against Mao’s ideas, which is everyone should be equal. Mao doesn’t like all these changes and he was also finding himself losing power after the failure of the Great Leap Forward.
Over the years in our country’s history it has been apparent that the idea of same sex marriages is becoming much more popular, however in most states there is still one thing stopping them. That one thing stopping two people from the pursuit of happiness which they desire is a social injustice. Social injustices are situations where a person or group of people is treated unfairly due to certain factors for example discrimination, prejudice, racism, heterosexism, sexism, and so forth. In the case of same sex marriages, the factor playing a major role in this social injustice is where most people believe that opposite sexes attract, but in the case of a same sex couple wanting to be married, this brings about many topics to be discussed by people, as not everyone thinks the same way. Everyday a same sex couple wants to get married but is either denied their want, or is forced to conform to a civil union. This should not be the case however; people of the same sex should be allowed what every other couple is allowed due to the fact that each and every person has the right to happiness, and the right to marriage despite their sexual orientation.
The government in china is very concerned with limiting the freedom of expression for it's citizens in all possible ways. Let's examine first the reason why censorship is such an important aspect for the Chinese government. According to the book “A Short History of China” by Gordon Kerr when the renaissance took place in Europe from the 14th through the 17th century it changed people's view in many different ways because it was “a period of exploration, discovery and advancement in almost every field”(Gordon Kerr 87); it was a rebirth of the ancient traditions. Aristotle once stated, “The rule of law is better than that of any individual.” The essential characteristics of rule of law are: the supremacy of law, meaning both the government and individuals are subject to the law; a concept of justice that emphasizes interpersonal adjudication, based on importance of standards and procedures; restrictions on discretionary power and exercise of legislative power by the executive; independent judiciary, judicial precedent and common law methodology; prospective, not retrospective legislation; and underlying moral basis for law. (Cooray) In China, the justice system has been based on rule “by” law, also known as “rule of men” instead of rule “of” law. In other words, law has been an instrument of the government, which holds itself above the law as opposed to law being supreme. The goal of laws here are to protect the interests of the state, not the individual, and to keep stringent social control. China’s leaders are beginning to realize that establishing the “rule of law” is critical to China’s ability to sustain its rapid economic growth. The lack of legal knowledge and transparency, the complex judiciary and legislative system and cultural barriers rooted deeply in society are just a few main reasons responsible for an inadequate rule of law in China. Due to the lack of tradition of rule of law and the Chinese Communist Party rejection of the kind of liberal democratic government associated with it faces multiple challenges in its establishment. Understanding the importance of modernizing Chinas culture has had leverage on the political and economic level have substantially increased the progress of reform towards the use of rule of law.
For all of its praise of ethics and morals, humanity ironically condemns itself through its innate corruption and tyranny. The birth of this corruption lies in the presence of control, as world leaders constantly assert their dominance over their nations, steadily desiring continued control over the people. In the modern People’s Republic of China, the public witnesses an extreme ruling that controls its media consumption with continued government support of the “Great Firewall of China that prevents free access to information on the Internet,” effectively establishing a foundation for the corruption that holds the nation (“China”). With government officials only propagating the extensive maldistribution of power, as Wong analyzes the Chinese
Even after many years have passed people still cry over the lost of their loved ones on June 4, 1989 (Chang 12). The Chinese are still under very strict ruling after all these years since Tiananmen Massacre. Even after the protesters of Tiananmen tried to go against communism it did not work (21). The students at the local college were not getting the anything they needed, things they needed to survive, like food and clean water, and sometimes even shelter. The government did not want to focus on that, as they were too busy trying to figure out what to do about the protesters they had on their hands (Fairbank 425). No one saw the real problem in China until it was too late when the government destroyed every protestor - students and teachers- in Tiananmen. There was no warning signs that people knew about the government coming to attack its own citizens that were trying to fight for what they thought was right. Communism prevented anyone from having his or her own thoughts in this world. The people of China know that even now they still cannot agree with the protestors because their government is always right (Drew
China is the most populated country is the world with about 1.35 billion people. Not surprisingly, this is almost 4 times the population of the United States. For such a large country, the government must be strong and efficient in order to govern its people. It is a communist country and its power is divided into branches. While it is not a democracy, it has the three branches of government that resemble those in the US. These branches are the legislative, executive, and the judicial. However, there are differences between the governments of the US and China. In Legend, a novel by Marie Lu, the Republic is a dystopian government. Citizens of the Republic have limited rights. Despite the fact that most governments may appear
Oppression has been shown all throughout world history. From the Japanese internment camps to the judgment of Muslim Americans, it still exists today. Usually, there is a leader, a head of the snake, that controls and influences this oppression. In the case of the Holocaust in Germany, Hitler was the ruler. In the Cultural Revolution in China, it was Mao who was the manager. Hitler and Mao are similar in their styles of leading because both wanted total world control, both used children to help build their country’s power and influence the minds of the next generations, and both exploited and abused certain groups of people based on certain criteria.

Nowadays, most people have Facebook, Twitter and YouTube account to share personal opinion with others on the Internet. However no one can control other’s mind and what they want to say, so there is some “reactionary speeches” are already being posted on the Internet. In order to control the online “reactionary speech” spread, Chinese government decided to forbid foreign Social networking, and crate Chinese Social networking like Renren, Youku, and Weibo to take the place of Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter for Chinese people, because Chinese Social networking is easier to control by Chinese government to keep away “reactionary speech”. Chinese government wants to protect Chinese social stability for Chinese people, the government not allow “reactionary speech” to disturb what Chinese people’s mind. Whereas, closing foreign social networking to Chinese people won’t be a good method for the development of Chinese society. If people of a country only know one-sided information and they cannot really know their country, how can they help their country to get great development? To know the comprehensive information of Chinese society won’t bring bad influence to Chinese people, but the one-sided understanding would be disadvantageous to the development of the country. China should accept foreign Social networking like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, because will allow Chinese people to gain comprehensive information about their world.
