Overview of Management-Kudler Fine Foods
Kudler Fine Foods, a gourmet food store was founded by Kathy Kudler in 1998 with the vision to provide customers with a variety of quality products such as bakery, meat and seafood, cheese and dairy, wine, and produce with over 350 fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices from all over the world. Kudler Fine Foods opened its first store at La Jolla, California and within five years of operations expanded to Del Mar in the year 2000 and Encinitas in the year 2003 all stores located in San Diego County, California.
After the opening of her first store at La Jolla, Mrs. Kudler took nine month to break even and finished the year with a profit. Carefully Planning and Strategizing was in place to set Mrs. Kudler's objectives and develop activities with continuing evaluation and assessment to achieve those objectives and set up any corrective measure to respond to any deviation towards the future goal. I assume that Mrs. Kudler prepared a business plan in order to organizing human, financial, physical, informational, and technical resources and forecast the future of her venture since without a clear picture of the business necessity high levels of risk were present. Mrs. Kudler was an excellent leader who was able to influence her coworkers to work hard to fulfill her vision. She was able to motivate employees form different backgrounds to work well together and accomplish utmost success. Mrs. Kudler established measures of performance controlling, comparing and implementing changes to monitor progress which permitted the expansion of Kudler Food Stores to two new different locations in five years a completely success history. I believe that Mrs. Kudler at the beginning was the only one responsible for managing the whole structure with the help of her administrative assistant. Later she started delegating and empowering her top executives to help her with the daily operations and management of the store.
"The word "technology" can also be used to refer to a collection of techniques. In this context, it is the current state of humanity's knowledge of how to combine resources to produce desired products, to solve problems, fulfill needs, or satisfies wants; it includes technical methods, skills, processes, techniques, tools and raw materials." "The Internet is a worldwide, publicly accessible series of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP)." (Wikipedia, 2008). The owner of Kudler Fine Foods, Kathy Kudler, has watched her dream of owning and operating a grocery store that specializes in fine quality food grow within a short period of time. The success of Kudler Fine Foods can be attributed to the innovative ideas, effective leadership, and organizational structure. "Kathy considers one of her key responsibilities to be that of identification of new gourmet items that can be offered in her stores (Apollo Group, 2003)." Therefore, Kathy is considering plans to contract with local growers of organic produce to yet obtain the best in quality products for her consumers and take her business to the next step. If Kathy makes the decision to contract with local growers then changes could be introduced into the company's overall structural organization. Each aspect of Kudler Fine Food's organizational structure from basic business process to the supply chain and quality control process will be affected by the formation of a contractual relationship with local organic growers.

The dictionary definition of technology is, “ an application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.” In my opinion, this broad and “undefined” definition does not clearly describe what technology truly is to us today. For some, it is their lifeline, their job, and their passion. For others? Well, as Bobby Boucher’s mother in the movie, Waterboy, would say it, “is the Devil.” Whether you’re a fan or not, computers, cell phones, and soon to be driverless cars, are engulfing and controlling the world around us.
Kudler Fine Foods has designed a market research plan that includes using data collection tools to assist them in determining and improving their level of customer service. The data the company collects from the research tools will help determine a future marketing plan that appropriately positions their product and resonates and connects with the customers Kudler is trying to attract. Each of the tools selected will provide Kudler with insight into the customer behavior and opinions of Kudler’s customer base as it relates to customer satisfaction. They intend to expand on their current survey materials to help quantify the areas that they will need to focus on to improve their service levels.
Operations management is essential for the survival and success of any organization. According to Heizer & Render (2011), operations management (OM) is the set of activities that creates value in the form of goods and services by transforming inputs into outputs. Operations managers today contend with competition, globalization, inflation, consumer demand, and consistent change in technology. Managers must focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of processes such as cost, dependability, distribution, flexibility, and speed. The intent of this paper is to discuss the processes and operations management of the Kroger Company.
The Oxford English online dictionary defines technology: as the product of such application; technological knowledge or know-how; a technological process, method, or technique. In the space of a few decades technology as experienced incredible growth and has become a crucial part of our everyday life. Most of us use technology in every aspect of our lives whether we are at work, school, or relaxing at home in our free time. Now most of us could not imagine returning to a time in which technology was not so readily available. Most of us expect to have access to information at a moment’s notice. There are many advantages and disadvantages to our obsession with technology.
Today, technology is at the center of everything. Put simply, the present world is surrounded by technology; our homes, our places of work, and so forth. Since the late 1980s, the world has been shrinking to what many have come to refer as “a global village.” This phenomenon has been made possible by globalization, which in turn has relied mostly on the advent and progression of technology. However, even though technology is everywhere, there has been little consensus in regards to its actual definition. As a matter of fact, according to Springer, when asked to define what technology is, the average individual will most definitely begin listing down technological artifacts, rather than define technology itself. So what really
