Introduction
I think everyone know what is input devices included me. But mostly people don't know the details of this part of computer until the second lecturer teach us about this computer system concept now then i truly understand the meaning of input.
What Is Input?
Input is any data and instruction entered into the memory if a computer. This devices gather data and convert them into electronic form for use by the computer. This hardware device that which can let users sends data and instructions into a computer. Some of them are without any input devices such as TV is the one which do not allow users interact with it only be a display device.
KEYBOARD
Keyboard is classified as part of computer input devices users. A keyboard is an input device that contains keys users press to enter data and instructions into a computer. All the keyboard contain input letter, punctuation marks, numbers, and other symbols and this allows users to type data or write e-mails. Many desktop computer keyboards also have a numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard. Most of the computer use enlarge keyboards. This type of keyboard has twelve or more function keys along the top. By the way, the function keys F1-12 are as special keys to performed shortcut and issue commands to computer. To issue commands, users can press a function key in combination with other special keys (SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, and others) For example, the F5 key is usually more often to used for refresh the screen. Just press the F5 key can show you the latest content in your screen. And this key can also help you in PowerPoint to quickly see the slide show in full screen.

Digital camera have become the popular camera solution choice for most users today compared to film cameras as the quality of the picture they take has improved and the price decreased. Another measure of camera's photo quality is the number of buts it stores in a pixel. One pixel contain of one or more bits of data. The less bits used to represent a pixel, the less colors and shades of gray that can be represented. Each bit of pixel is enough for simple one-color images. Last time people need to go for the photo shop to drop off their film to get their pictures developed. Digital cameras are convenient only use USB cable to help you import pictures into computer. By the way, you can editing them through the computer editing software.
These devices are attached to the motherboard through different connections. The output devices like monitors and printers can be used by a file server to show different files or print hard copies of files. These devices take the data from the computer and put it into a format that users can read and understand. I would like to take a moment here and go over the different kinds of monitors that a person can use as an output device. The first is the regular CRT monitors are heavy and use a lot of electric power to display objects, but are preferred by graphical artist for the color rendition. Then there are the flat panel monitors, which can use liquid Crystal Display (LCD) or a plasma display. These displays use electronically at each pixel to control the color. The input devices like a keyboards and a mouse. These inputs take the movements from the users and turn it into data that the computer can understand. (Beach,
Without the computer hardware I won’t be able to use the computer software for example I use monitor to be able to see and access my data, (edit it).
Keyboards are one of the most important input devices for a computer. They serve as your primary means of communication with your computer. Most keyboards have an ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) layout, which includes a numeric keypad, special function keys, special control keys, as well as typing keys. The typing keys are just the keys containing the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. These keys have a QWERTY setup. QWERTY stands for the first six letters in the top row of the standard letter keys. It was designed so that the most commonly used letters would not be near each other. There are also other parts to the keyboard such as the numeric keypad, the function keys, and the control keys. The numeric keys are a group of 17 keys located on the right of your keyboard that includes all of the numbers from 0-9, a plus sign, a minus sign, and other assorted keys. Since many computers are used for business purposes and to input numbers into a computer, the numeric keypad was designed which made it easier and faster to input numbers. The control keys are intricate keys like del (delete), ctrl (control), alt (alternate), shift, and enter. The delete (or backspace) key is used to erase characters in a document. The esc (escape) key is normally used to exit out of a program or application, while when you strike the enter key, a task or command is carried out. The tab key is primarily used to indent in a document. The shift key is often used in combination with other keys. Lastly, there are the ctrl and alt keys. Like the shift key, these are also used in combination with other keys, and they typically perform functions related to those of the function keys.
1. A device is a computer if it has an input device, central processing unit (CPU), internal memory, storage, and an output device.
A port is a point at which you can attach leads from devices to the
For a microprocessor to be a more useful device, it needs to be connected to another electronic device. In order to design` a computer the microprocessor needs /to be interfaced to the main memory’, keyboard, USB ports, disk memory `etc. Interfacing can be categorized into two types:-
What is an output device you ask? Well, an output device is anything that can convert electronic information into hard information. The most common form of an output device would be a printer. The printer would be the device that would take the electronic information from most commonly a computer and put it on to a piece of paper and now that electronic information would be information that can be read and used. Although, output devices are not limited to printers or hard information you can hold. That in a nut shell would be an output device, now I will tell you more about output devices and different kinds of output devices.
When using computer terms, it is very confusing trying to refer to different parts. Computers are basically broken down into two groups so help organize parts. Hardware is the term used to refer to items that you can physically touch and move with your hands (Dais interview). Software is the term used when referring to items you cannot touch like programs and applications.
Pointing device is an input devices that is used to allow user to input data to a computer. It is connected to the computers or laptops using a USB, PS/2, serial, or Bluetooth connection (Tyler, 2008). It functions to point somewhere on the monitor, click and drag item in the computer. It plays an importance role enables user interact with the computer for many purpose such as surfing the web, editing document, editing images, computer games (Kirschner, 2010) and many others. It is defined as a piece of equipment used for moving a cursor on a computer screen (Mac-Millan Dictionary). There are many types of pointing devices nowadays such as mouse, trackball, pointing stick, joystick, touch pad, touch screen, light pen and digitizer tablet.
Technology in the twentieth century is quickly evolving, through rapidly changing innovations. Although, the term “modern technology” is often associated with present day, “modern technology” has quickly become obsolete in a matter of months. Furthermore, the evolution of computer components has become more hi-tech, offering more up-to-date hardware to be used in our everyday life. A keyboard is a piece of computer hardware comprised of a set of keys similar to a typewriter. Although, additional keys are offered to the computer keyboard; standard keyboard entries are imputed in QUERTY format. Keyboards are the driving force of data entry in computers; alongside the innovative speak to text device and scanner. Advanced keyboards have developed wireless capability that allows use from a distance. The modern technological development of the laser projection keyboard has offered access to mobile devices (smart phones, tablets etc.), provides enhanced user convenience, and has opened the door to further developments in technology and data input.
Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized computer that can be plugged into a TV and keyboard. It is possible to program things such as spreadsheets, word-processors, and games. It also plays high-definition video.
Input devices are known to be the physical equipment used to enter data into computers. In turn the information that has been entered into the computer hardware equipment is then displayed using an output device. The output device is most commonly the display or screen of a computer or smartphone for example. Input devices can be classified in multiple ways. There is the modality of the input which is most commonly audio, visual, or mechanical motion. The second classification used is the degrees of freedom involved. Some examples of degrees of freedom would be two dimensional or three dimensional navigation. Two dimensional freedom is most commonly known as the mouse. Three dimensional navigation woul...
A Peripheral device is any external device attached to a computer. Without Peripherals a computer is just a box full of wires, transistors and circuits, which is able to: - 1. Respond to a specific set of instructions in a well-defined manner. 2. Execute a prerecorded list of instructions (a program). The only problem being that without any input Peripherals you cannot tell the computer to do any of the above processes, and if you could, without an output device of some kind, the computer has no way of delivering the result to the user! Examples of peripherals include printers, disk drives, display monitors, keyboards, and mice etc. These can be separated into two categories: - Input devices An input device is any machine that feeds data into a computer. For example, a keyboard is an input device. Input devices other than the keyboard are sometimes called alternate input devices. Mice, trackballs, and light pens are all alternate input devices. Output devices An output device is any machine capable of representing information from a computer. This includes display screens, printers, plotters, and synthesizers. C.P.U. Central Processing Unit Fig One Section One -- Developments in Peripherals in the Last Few Years There have been many advances in the field of Peripherals over the last few years. Even the humble keyboard and mouse have been re-invented to produce the Ergonomic keyboard and the cordless and laser mouse. There have also been advances in monitors such as flat screen displays and LCD screens. But there have also been advances in technology, which although not new, have been made commercially available for home use such as the digital camera, scanners, digital video camera and the colour printer. To look at some of the advances in detail we should put them into their categories. Output Devices Printers Printers have developed from the daisy wheel printer to the thermal printers of today. Other advancement in printers have been the laser printer (Same technology as photocopiers), which is used commonly in offices as it produces very high quality text and graphics. I general the Printer has developed in four areas. It has made improvements in the quality of type, the speed in which it can print, the quality of graphics and the number of fonts now available. Monitor (Display Screen) Monitors a few years ago were usually monochrome, displaying only two colours.
We all use output devices in our normal day to day life, most of us use them a lot more than we may realize now that we are in school. An output device is any processing equipment used to communicate the results of data carried out by a computer or other processing devices which turns information into an easier form for us to read. (Wikipedia).
Input is really important for the computer. Through this device, users are allows to enter data or instructions into a computer. It changed something on the screen through the response. There are many kinds of input device for users to select depending on their application to get the result they want. There are many input technologies, for example, keyboard, pointing device, trackball, touch screen, touchpads and audio input. These devices can help users to connect with computer system directly.
