It was April 2nd, 2025, a Saturday in the beginning of summer when a teen, named Josh Arch was home on his dad’s farm in southern Texas working on an old 1972 Chevelle SS. Josh is 16, he has dark blonde hair and brown eyes. Josh was a mechanic for his dad’s business. Josh has a family of four, Josh’s dad and mom and little sister and himself. They lived next to a gas station about a mile from town, which has a population of around 4,000 people. Josh’s family has been around in the town ever since he can remember.
Josh woke up one morning to the sound of his mother cooking breakfast, he got out of bed, got dressed and headed downstairs.
“Morning,” Josh’s mom said.
“Morning,” Josh slurred.
“What do you plan on doing today?” asked Josh’s dad who was sitting at the table.
“Probably gonna work on the Chevelle,” Josh said.
“Can I help?” Sophie said from the stairs.
“No, You will mess something up,” Josh said.
“No I won't!!!” said Sophie.
“Let her help, Josh,” Josh’s father said.
“Fine, but if she messes up she’s done helping,” Josh said.
“We will see,” Said Josh’s father.
After breakfast Josh headed for the barn where the Chevy was, Sophie followed him quietly. Josh tugged both of the double doors open, and there it was, the jet black 1972 Chevy SS. Josh’s grandfather got the car the year it came out, and passed it down to Josh’s dad. Josh wanted to try and get the car for his birthday coming up on April 13. He stepped into the barn and went to the bench with all his dad’s tools. Sophie went over to the car and opened the hood.
“How fast does it go?” Sophie asked.
“Fast,” Josh murmured.
Sophie looked at Josh with an annoyed look and walked towards the bench where Josh was. Josh has been working on the Chevy ever since his last bir...

...nd tried opening the hatch to get to them. The hatch opened and Josh shot their mother without knowing what it was. Their Dad was at his friends house still getting weapons and armour ready. He had a feeling that his kids were in danger, but he knew they were strong and he that he needed to relied on Josh to keep Sophie safe. The father told the two kids to lock themselves in the shelter and wait for him to get back.
The next day the father ran into some problems getting back to the house in his car, there were too many zombie and creatures on the road for the car. So he decided to take his favourite sniper, an M24, and go around the creatures to the barn. The friends house was about 230 yards from the barn and the gas station was in the middle of the two houses. The father was on the road far from the gas station, but he could still see the creatures from his car.
...ased the brakes until coming to a complete stop. Juan and Glenn, knowing where they were going, went to the door leaving the dad alone to get the money. Upon entering the cabin, Juan asked him for the money. He replied quickly that first he needs to see his daughter. The children came out. There was a sudden movement by Glenn which attracted the attention on him long enough for Marianne’s father to pull out the pistol. He pistol whipped Juan and held the gun towards Rita. Rita suddenly started screaming in Spanish asking where Buck was. They told her he was dead and ordered her to put her hands above her head. He handed the gun to Glenn motioning him to stay here and watch the two as he went for the cops and took the others.

At Ten P.m on September 23, 2006, my mother Kelli Elizabeth Dicks was hit by a car on Route 146 southbound trying to cross the high speed lane. She was being picked up by a friend. Instead of taking the exit and coming to the other side of the highway, her ride suggested she run across the street. The impact of the car caused her to be thrown 87 feet away from the original impact zone and land in a grassy patch of land, her shoes stayed where she was hit. She was immediately rushed to Rhode Island Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. When she arrived at the hospital she was rushed into the operating room for an emergency surgery. The amount of injuries she sustained were unbelievable. She broke 18 different bones, lacerated her liver and her spleen, ruptured her bladder, and she collapsed both lungs. When she went in for her emergency operation, and had her
Feeling jubilant and excited, they immersed themselves in hot water and soap and went to bed in what seemed like the most comfortable beds that they have ever laid on. Waking the next afternoon, the woman had freshly washed and ironed clothes laid out for them and a hot breakfast. The only thing that Josh had a problem doing was finding a way to thank the woman for all she had done for them. For she had restored his confidence, and gave him the encouragement that he needed to continue on his journey. Finally, the woman allowed them to write a letter to their mother, giving her comfort in knowing that they were still
He heard a knock on the door and grandma got to it before him. He stood behind the corner waiting to see who it was. It was unfortunately two police officers. Preston suddenly got the chills and went and hid in the back room. He did not want to hear what the police officers had to say. He never came out the rest of the night, he waiting till grandma finally came into his room. She looked sad but did not have tears in her eyes. She had told Preston it was about his mom. She had been killed…. and it was by Danny. All he wanted was his dad, but he had been in the hospital because he had shot her, and then shot himself, but did not die. Danny was placed in jail after he was released from the hospital, not knowing how much time he had, until his trial. Tyler and Preston moved in with their grandparents.

We closed the trucks and trudged to each side of the two trucks. I dropped down in the seat and stared out the open door before sitting up to tug my blond, curly, noodle like hair into a tight ponytail. I slammed my door closed and slid my seatbelt around my body. I let the sound of silence crash down on me like waves. The silence broke as my dad slammed his door closed. I gave him a quick glance before turning to the window and staring at the large tan building. “You ready, kiddo?” I could basically hear the smile on his face as he spoke. “If we’re being honest here, no” I snickered. He pats my head and started the car. The car roared before falling
The author then looks back upon the time in his life when her mother decided to drive Hunter Jordan’s old car. However, she didn’t know how to drive, and was generally afraid to get behind the wheel. On that day, she drove crazily on the road, and declared to never drive again. James McBride also reflected on his life up to a teenager, who knew that bad things would occur in the not too distant future if he didn’t change his ways and behavior.
(Jennifer gets out her walk, looks at her watch and realized that she is now going to be late for work so she storms over to Kevin’s car)
Hmm…how to start, well I’m Lucy and my mom planned this vacation without telling anyone! I mean I have a life you know? She doesn’t think about anyone, she says it will be fun, but it really won’t be. She says she knows what’s in my best interest but she doesn’t, she should’ve asked me if I wanted to go, because I don’t.
As usual I woke up to the sound of my father pounding on my bedroom door, hollering, “Get up! Get on your feet! You’re burning daylight!” I met my brother in the hallway, and we took our time making it down the stairs, still waking up from last night’s sleep. As we made our way to the kitchen, I thought about what to have for breakfast: fried eggs, pancakes, an omelet, or maybe just some cereal. I started to get hungry. As usual, mom and dad were waiting in the kitchen. Mom was ready to cook whatever we could all agree on, and dad was sitting at the table watching the news. The conversation went as usual, “Good morning.” “How are you today?”
