The marketing of a business plays an essential role of growing any business. The way a business is marketed can determine whether the community will support the business and the success of the business from beginning to end. Implementing a marketing strategy can be hard because everything has become so contemporary. In previous years, a simple commercial or ad in the local paper would let potential and returning customers know what was selling, popular, or desired in the a store. The advertising would also let customers what was taking place in a local market or neighborhood. However, with the change in time one may find that social media and e- media is the new age media for the century. What does this mean for individuals that set out on new business ventures? The need to run an ad in the local paper or TV advertisement will become outdated.

In the 21st Century there are many different forms of marketing strategy that range anywhere from search engines to email to social media and mass mailings. All of these methods can be successful in growing a business. Proper advertisement can also make a business successful and even result in more revenue or in the situation of Open Hearts more funding from corporations or private donors. Nevertheless, there are also a few drawbacks of advertising and why do not we take a closer look at those, just to ensure that we will be on the same page as it relates to advertising for Open Hearts.

According to Steve Strauss in an article written for USA Today, “One should never neglect word of mouth advertising“(2013). He also advised that most successful business was not because of social media but word of mouth (Strauss, 2013).

The long-term goals for Open Hearts include encouraging community members and businnesses to support this worthy cause and also know that Open Hearts is available if ever they are found in a state of hard times. Facebook will be one of the key resources for getting the word out, leading the pack in social media in this generation, the best way to reach your community and audience will be to go where they are and bring them to you. The first plan of marketing for Open Hearts will be to start a Facebook page.
