The war on drugs has been an ongoing battle in the U.S. for many years. This war, on drugs, is a primary necessity to stopping drug abuse. Furthermore, of all the drugs with war waged against them, there is one that has controversially made its way to the spotlight of becoming legal. Indeed, any one person, without studying the facts, can determine marijuana should be illegal for it, at most, generates no medical gain. Likewise, there is a common consensus of bias that marijuana legalization would promote zero gain in any category and legalization of marijuana would be all destructive to our society. This consensus is seemingly readily adopted by most Americans without the pursuit of any legitimate facts on the subject. Therefore, since misconception and misguided politics has led to the illegalization of marijuana, it has also obtained a poor judgment by most; furthermore, illegalization has a negative effect on the U.S. for the losses generated economically and medicinally, and by legalizing marijuana and promoting its proper use their can be many acquisitions made that are often overlooked. First of all, misconception from misguided politics is a primary cause of people being biased against the legalization of marijuana. This misconception is brought about from the fact that marijuana's effects seem to be dose related. According to The Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace, and Conflict,” low doses produce some degree of activation and associated motor stimulation and higher doses result in inhibition” (drugs and violence/10). Indeed, abuse of marijuana can result in many problems, but, as shown, low doses provide possible stimulation.
