There are valid arguments for both sides, but when it comes to it weed should be legalized. Law enforcement could be putting their efforts toward much more important crimes, the plant could be taxed, hemp could be developed into a valuable cash crop, there have been proven medical benefits of marijuana, and prohibition simply does not work.

That is a huge number which indefinitely took law enforcement away from other crimes, in addition to filling up jails and crowding court systems. Cannabis is less harmful than alcohol and cigarettes (two items which are legal.) It is less addictive and responsible for far fewer deaths each year than either. Weed is proven to be non-toxic to humans and overdose is nearly impossible. Much debate has been brought to Capitol Hill concerning the legalization of the Marijuana. Analyzing the history, data, and health effects of marijuana it becomes clear that the debate for the legalization of marijuana should be seriously considered and should be brought to congress as an issue that can stimulate the economy and bring together a divided nation. This issue along with many others will not be a reality until congress takes action and addresses the issue directly. Conflicting views arise
For decades the marijuana prohibition has been violating individual’s rights, but scientific research has proven that marijuana has therapeutic uses and is harmless compared to other drugs. Therefore, marijuana should not be considered a dangerous drug and should be legalized. The prohibition of marijuana did not end with crime; nonetheless, it is responsible for the imprisonment of thousands of its users. The government’s campaign against marijuana has also created cultural factors that make the

Many people don't know that it was not the effect of cannabis that originally spurred its banning. It was actually originally the work of the cotton industry who put big money behind illegalization for the plant's mind altering effects. The cotton industry was afraid that hemp, a product of the cannabis plant, would soon overpower the strong hold of cotton

Legalizing marijuana, in my opinion, would be a good thing for me. No, I do not smoke marijuana or cigars simply due to the fact that it is against my religion. I am for legalization because; there are many gains from the plant. I want it legalized because; there are many medical uses for it. I have read many scholarly journals and have been exposed to multiple individual that have used marijuana. An excellent example of this is a research done with the use of marijuana. This research does not show

This increases by nearly 1.3 percent every year. This has become a problem due to Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) being the active

It is necessary
