The Lost Wolf Pup

When I looked out of the cave I only saw a bit of snow left. There was mainly this green stuff coming out of the ground, which momma calls grass. I wanted to go outside and play, but we were not allowed to at only five full moons old. What was it like out there? Is the snow cold? So many questions went through my mind, and I wanted answers. I could tell momma was watching me, so I just laid down. "Luna, come and eat, you can look outside tomorrow" father growled softly. I walked over to where the food was, it wasn't much. A small amount of fish, some berries, and a bit of the green stuff. I always got the bad food, my older litter mates would not let me eat till they were full. I always was rejected from the other pups, especially Moonstar. He hated me, and every time I came around him, he tried to hurt me. I still have a cut on my back left leg where he cut me. Momma and father seemed to not care, like I was the unwanted pup. The rest of the pups always said, "You are weird" or "You do not belong here, no one wants you." Susan, my momma's sister, always liked me. She told me stories on how I was the first one to open my eyes and ears and how I was the first one to start moving. She always sneaks me an extra serving of meat when no one is paying attention. Thanks to her, I am learning how to hunt! She said she was going to bring me a real mouse tomorrow to practice with! After eating the meat Susan saved for me, I curled up beside her, as she was cleaning my head. I could hear dad talking to the hunter wolves from the pack about how they were going to go on a hunt. I was falling asleep, but I was thinking, "maybe I could go with them..." When I woke up, Fa... ... middle of paper ... ...pped in joy and we started running. The next sunrise we were back at this place I use to call “home”. As soon as I walked into the cave, Momma and Father started growling at me. “Ma, Pa, it’s okay, she’s Luna!” Fenrisúlfur explained, trying to push them back. “We do not care, she ran away, she is not welcome here anymore. She is not one of us.” They both growled, the same words, at the same time. I ran, I knew I was going to get hurt if I stayed. I was not even welcomed by my family. When I returned to my real home, I explained to everyone why I was gone. Even though that my real family are wolves, my foster family is better than them. I will always protect the penguins, even if I have my own pack. We will always welcome penguins, no matter what. “I love you guys, thank you for raising me like one of your own kids” I protested, hugging the penguin family.
