The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer

The author wrote a book about what he went through as a young boy so many years ago and how he overcame so many problems that he went through.

Dave Pelzer name is actually David James Pelzer born on December 29, 1960 at San Francisco, California. David’s father Stephen Joseph Pelzer was a fireman of San Francisco and in 1980 he past away. Mother is Catherine Roerva the person that was responsible for mistreating David for so many years. David had to live in a foster home until the age of eighteen years old. Before Dave became an author he joined the U.s. Air Force. He is currently living in South Carolina. He has children of his own with his wife. He has younger brothers and some of them were also abused when he left from the house to go live with a foster family. Dave’s brother also wrote a book about how he was also in a child abuse home after Dave left. He has written seven books so far in his life which are about him. David has sold more than six million copies from the total of all his books.

The situation that Dave Pelzer had to go through as a young child other children are also still facing child abuse. There have been so many reports that children are getting beaten by the own parents or any family members. Some children have been put in to foster care however there are children that are not being rescued from their abused home. There was a situation this year that a young boy died because his mother’s boyfriend beat him up and died a few days later at a hospital. Even though social workers went to his home he was not put in to a foster care after many neighbors reported that he was being beaten so many times and he could not be saved on time. He was sometimes afraid of his mother because he did not know what to expect from her and she used to play a lot of tricky games with him. Before they went to court she was saying that he was going to stay with her. After David was put in a foster home he would sometimes pass by his old house and the mother would call the person that was in charge of him to tell him not to get near her home.

The book is for people to understand what he went through for being in a foster home and trying to learn how to cope with the problems that he is facing. For also children that have been abused will have the hope to be rescued just like he did and become a successful person that he is now. He wants people to be happy for the family that they have because not everyone has a stable home.
