Zombie Apocalypse 1014
What evidence would one look for if there was a zombie apocalypse one thousand years ago? The archeological record would be full of evidence needed to prove this event occurred. There are four important questions that should be asked to determine if in fact there was a zombie apocalypse. What evidence would be left by humans? What would settlement patterns would amongst the humans? What evidence would be found one bone? Finally, what would be evidence would be missing? To answer these questions first a definition of a zombie should be determined.
Zombies are reanimated corpse roaming aimlessly in search of a food source. Though a single zombie could be deadly, its slow and clumsy movement makes it easy to elude. That being said zombies are at their deadliest when grouped. A hoard of zombies is far heard to escape. As far as food sources, zombies enjoy the flesh of living human being, however they will devour and living mammal. Zombies are able to hear and also see, so they are attracted to sounds and movement. Now that the zombies’ behavior has been address, it will help in determining what humans would have to have done in order to survive.
The first question to ask is, what evidence would humans leave behind? There would be weaponry, settlements, mass graves; among other items. Humans would have to start to adapt to their new existence. There would likely be luxury items that were simple abandons. The survivors would leave very little refuges; due to the lack of resources the further from establish towns. They are likely to use every bit of what they have. As far as the burial of either of the remains, the process would very throughout the duration of the event. In the beginning the remains would probably have been abandon where ever they fell, especially in the bigger settlements. As time passed one it’s likely that there would be burials for the humans that were lost due to illness or injury. The remains of the zombies would most likely be burned, dumped in mass graves or left were they lie. Finally towards the end of the event burials of remains would begin to resume similar to pre-apocalypse.
The physical evidence is a good indicator of the event, however sometimes it is not what is present but what is missing that provides additional evidence. There would be a lack of population growth due to births. It would also would be a lack of technical advancements.
