If one of your parents forgets to give you your allowance one time, are you going to try to kick them out of the house? Most likely not, because nobody is perfect. However, some people believe that if a political leader has done something wrong, that it is okay to get rid of them at all costs.
There are, as always, two sides to this argument. One side says that it is okay to get rid of them, and the other side says it is not okay. One man that I would've agreed to get rid of was Osama Bin Laden, leader of a terrorist group called "Al-Qaeda". This is because he has been the cause of many problems between Afghanistan and the United States. One of the acts is known by the whole world, 9/11, when he ordered his men to hi-jack several couple airplanes and fly them into some of our most important buildings, such as The Pentagon, and The Twin Towers. This is what made Bin Laden a leader that should have been killed, or gotten rid of earlier before this calamity happened. Leadership is defined as ‘the process in which an individual influences the group of individuals to attain a common goal’. The goal is achieved by cooperation, communication and cohesive behaviour. A leader is someone who stands for his cause and takes responsibility, but can also motivate others to do the same. There is a clear difference between being a boss and a leader. A leader can motivate others and inspires them to aim high and achieve anything they set their minds to. However a boss plays more of a supervising role. As Captain Towns makes his way to find James Liddle, he comes across the book The Happy Isles of Ocenia that was blown out of their plane during the crash landing. The book is an auto-biographical story about a man who tries to get lost in a journey in hopes of self –discovery and it is not a coincidence that the director put that book in the shot. The groups of stranded passengers are lost in the desert and are on a voyage of self-discovery to see how long and how far they can go in order to survive.

Leadership is derived from the Latin word laedere, which roughly translates as “to show the way” and if someone were to look it up in the dictionary, it would come up as “the position of a leader, the ability to lead, and direction.” However, for some this word can be arguable because everyone thinks differently. Leadership or leader itslef can be described or defined as someone promoting good character, a trustworthy person as well as a person who has dedication and takes responsibility for not only him or herself but also takes responsibility for the people surrounding them.
Leadership skills are essential for those who wish to lead change in an organisation. According to Kouzes and Posner leadership is a relationship between those who aspire to lead and those who choose to follow (2007). How this relationship works can be a determining factor in the success of a project or indeed an organisation. We live in an era of communication challenges. It is an age of increasingly scarce management and education to the markets of tomorrow. To solve this problem, to improve and restore the competitive edge of business, I recommend teaching leadership as well as organization. We need to move beyond the simplistic and boring, everyday organizational skills commonly taught in core courses in business schools. Important as these skills are, we need to redirect our foci towards the essential ingredient required to put these skills to work – leadership. As Warren Bennis and Burt Nanus have expressed it, “The problem with many organizations…is that they tend to be over managed and under led. There is a profound difference between management and leadership, and both are important.” “To manage” means “to bring about, to accomplish, to have charge or responsibility for, to conduct.” “Leading” is “influencing, guiding in direction, course, action, opinion.” Other characteristics include: motivating and inspiring individuals, providing direction and vision, earning the respect of others, turning talent and efforts into results, and being an excellent communicator and listener.
Our leadership in this world has changed and affected us greatly. Leadership is being about to lead an organization with many people and to have control in the right way. “ The Leader of the Future” a book by Peter F. Drucker gives us information on why and how it is to be such a great leader. We need better leaders and we need them to guide us and help us along the way. Without leadership, our world would be in such danger and we America would be going through a lot.

. A job well done is the goal of every Coast Guardsman. We seldom agree on how that goal is best achieved and we have different levels of motivation for achieving the goal in a given timeframe but we all still feel good when we get there. A good leader knows that he must work with the tools he has. The tools in this case being the personnel he is leading. Every unit is different and every unit is staffed with a unique crew of individuals which all have their own strengths and weaknesses, skills and personalities. A good leader will quickly recognize the self starters and those who require more direction; those who work well alone and those who work best in a team. A good leader also understands that everyone has value and its okay if some have more value than others. Nothing in life is fair and some members are going to work harder than others. Leadership is essentially the ability to motivate. An effective leader can motivate others toward reaching a common goal. Leaders are different than managers in that leaders inspire others to do the work needed while managers generally tend to manage the tasks associated with completing the goal.
One of the most important components of leadership is the leader. A leader is responsible for his or her followers and the overall goal of the group or organization. Leaders are the people held accountable or everything that happens, good or bad. On the other hand, the second major component of leadership is the followers. Without followers, a leader would be worthless. Followers make up the backbone of a leader because they are the masses that get goals accomplished. A leader is just one person, but the number of followers is countless. In order to be an effective follower, there are a countless number of characteristics that allow a follower to be the best they can be. Five of these characteristics include a positive attitude, communication skills, being part of the process, being open to new ideas, and patience.
