Kudler Fine Foods has a…“organization-wide approach that focuses on quality as an overarching goal”……(Management, Gomez-Mejia, L, Balkin, D (2002) McGraw-Hill) to fulfill its mission which is to…”provide our customers the finest in selected foodstuffs, wines and related needs in the unparalleled consumer environment.”(Kudler Fine Foods Mission Statement, University of Phoenix Virtual Organization Portals, 2008) In this paper the operational structure of Kudler Fine Foods will be examined along with its reliance on technology to manage the enterprise effectively.

Identify the primary functions of management, describing who is responsible for each function at Kudler

Kudler Fine Foods has a created a management hierarchy that fulfills its mission statement. In the Kudler Fine Foods Team all three levels of management can be found. “Strategic managers, the senior executives with overall responsibility for the firm; the tactical managers who are responsible for implementing the directives of strategic managers; and the operational managers responsible for day-to-day supervision” (Gomez-Mejia, L, Balkin, D (2002) McGraw-Hill)

Kathy Kudler is the founder, owner and president of the company. She is in a senior executive role and would be classified as a strategic manager. She is assisted on the corporate level by seven individuals. The first is Harvey Stephens, the Director of Finance and Accounting. Per his job description he has operational control over all the finance and accounting activities for

Kudler Fine Foods. In the position of Director of Store Operations is Yvonne Reynolds. Her primary duties include management of “inventory, purchasing and logistics as well as

responsibility for store safety, facility maintenance, security, and compliance with state and federal regulations.”(Kudler Fine Foods, HR Department Job Descriptions, University of Phoenix Virtual Organization Portals, 2008) The third corporate manager is Brenda Wagner. She is the Director of Administration and Human Resources. The final member of the corporate management team is Ms. Kudler’s Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing administrative support and acting as an executive assistant to the president. From the company records it’s unclear whether or not Mr. Arthur Stepka is the administrative assistant to Ms.
