Recommended: Book Review

For this journal, we were assigned the book Tevye the Dairyman. Tevye the Dairyman are chronological stories about the life of a man named Tevye. During as well as after reading, I realized that there was not a proper plot summary to the book. During class, we discussed why the book does not have a proper plot summary; the reason was due to each chapter being written during different years. Although, there was not a plot summary of Tevye the Dairyman, I was able to find common themes. The themes I found were family, religion, and identity, Tevye the Dairyman begins with general information about Tevye being a poor woodcutter. One day while Tevye was in the forest cutting wood some women were lost, Tevye offered to drive them to a friend’s house. After Tevye took the women to their friend’s house, they gave him an abundance of money as well as a cow. Tevye went home to tell his wife about his amazing fortune in the forest, both Tevye and his wife decided to give up the woodcutting business, buy another cow, and begin a dairy delivery business. The author describes how he learned that the human race was afraid of mind over matter techniques and learned how to use them himself. He was able to levitate small objects and see peoples auwa and aura. This is a great book because it helps some people that deal with the same problems to see what might happen if they choose to follow the same path. I really liked this book because it might help people deal with this type of stuff, it was written in a real person's journal and described what led to his death, and I like how it says what happened every day of his life.
