Verizon Wireless is a joint venture between Verizon Communications out of New Jersey and the European-owned telecommunications company "Vodafone." Verizon Wireless is a wireless communication carrier that operates in the continental United States. Currently, Verizon Wireless provides wireless communication services to over 60 million customers nationwide including customers in Hawaii and Alaska. Its products include wireless voice and data services using the largest wireless voice and data network in the United States. Cingular Wireless is currently the leading cellular carrier when it comes to amount of customers on its wireless network. However, as Verizon Wireless continues to grow its market share as the United States' second largest wireless carrier, it ranks number one in total revenue collected as well as how it is viewed by Wall Street. Verizon Wireless' strong market position, perception of quality, and its proportion of income has a strong competitive advantage that would allow a small price increase--making the demand inelastic, "quality demand stretches very little in response to price change" (McConnell et. al, 2004).

The supplier bargaining power relies mainly in Apple and Google Android phones, because they are the highest in demand smart phones on the market today. In addition, both of these companies have other cellular service providers like AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile to sell their phones. This creates little bargaining power for Verizon, which can only use their reputation and customer base as a driving force for their bargaining power. Simply put, without Apple and Google Android phones, Verizon would not sell very many phones. Therefore, Verizon must keep a very close relationship with its providers, especially the phone manufacturers. These relationships Verizon has is very pivotal in their overall strategy, because without these two phone companies, Verizon would most likely not be in the cellular service industry. Consequently, Verizon must keep a very healthy relationship with these phone companies, because they can decrease/stop the supply chain, which ultimately would
Verizon has many advantages and is a great company to switch to. I have heard so many recommendations about Verizon and I read a bunch of facts about it and wouldn't want to have any other company, coming from someone who's had Sprint for 10 years not being able to connect in several different places. Having Verizon allows you contact people everywhere you are. So overall, Verizon is the better company and it’s something people should know
Verizon Wireless may be losing at least one competitive advantage as a result of lack of knowledge about how employee benefits packages in the wireless industry compare. Studies have shown that valuable employees and top talent candidates are highly influenced by employee benefits packages considered to be good (Paterson, 2013). The leadership team’s determination and call for organizational growth, translates to both retaining current employees and enticing new candidates to join, an area in which a top employee benefits package is a major contributor. With this consideration, and factoring in the problem of a lack of updated information, it was determined that there was a critical need for a current benefits package comparison. The investigative steps necessary for this analysis for this Capstone Project were found in Section III, and this subsequent chapter, Section IV, submits those findings.

CVS CEO Larry Merlo demonstrates the transformational style of leadership. Transformational leaders like Mr. Merlo employs the kind of leadership that motivates employees to invest their energy into strategies ( Kouzes & Posner, 2007). His leadership philosophy and behavior aligns with the description and definition of a transformational leader. According to Kouzes and Posner (2007) , transformational leadership occurs when in the process of interaction, individuals raise one another to higher levels of motivation and morality (Kouzes & Posner, 2007). Their goal, which might have started as distinct and separate, but related, become fused (Kouzes & Posner, 2007). When individuals are part of an entity that raises them to higher levels

America is often referred to as “The Melting Pot” of the world. With this appellation, it is not wrong to assume that the U.S. has one of the most diverse cultures. Conversely, a majority percentage of people in America would disagree with this sentiment and argue that the U.S. is comprised of many subgroups. These subgroups vary based on race and skin color and are hardly “melted” together. This apparent racial divide is very common in many American corporations as well. Management researchers have found that maintaining a racially diverse workforce has been proven to have many important benefits within a corporation. For example, having a racially diverse workforce can help match the culture of the customers in the economy to build trust, provide new and differing insights, and right some of the wrongs caused by racism and sexism in our society. Facilitating diversity is not easy, and many organizations have encountered challenges from attempting to do so. Fortunately, there actions that organizations can take to overcome these challenges in order to make diversity a reality.
