War in Palestine
` The War in Palestine has a big conflict with to major country’s effected their behavior between them. It’s called the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; these two countries have an on going struggle between the Israeli and Palestinians. The war began in the mid 20s century. In the 19th century Palestine before it became Israel was inhabited by a population approximately 86 percent of Muslim, 10 percent Christian, and only 4 percent Jewish and they were actually living in peace. In the 1800s Europe decided to take over the land of Palestine. Which is known as the Zionist. On the other hand what’s quoted on A Synopsis of the Israel/Palestine Conflict, “Their goal was to Crete a Jewish homeland, and they considered locations in Africa and the Americans, Before settling on Palestine,” (Synopsis), this tells you their idea on which the European’s wanted to place the Jewish people before taking over the Palestine land.

As quoted here, “Moreover, Arab armies did not invade Israel – virtually all battles were fought on land that was to have been the Palestinian state (Synopsis), there were battles in the Palestinian land before the Israeli took over or the Jewish People. The Palestinian and the Israeli conflict been going on forever, the reason why choose this to talk about is because I’m actually from there. Every summer I go to my country for a vacation and that’s a country I really love its very culture it has so many
Since the Arabs were living in Palestine when the Ottoman Empire control it. Since the Arabs defeated the Ottoman Empire with the help of from Germany, “Just short of 6 months the Palestinians were crushed, militarily and psychologically” (document 8) On the other hand, Israel grew beyond the partition lines, gained more defensible borders and they destroyed Arab homes reducing their population. The Palestinians rightly felt that the Israelis were taking over the area and were pushing out of lands promised to them in both the Balfour Declaration and the UN 1947 Partition.
The Nation of Israel was founded out of the eastern area of a British occupied (former Ottoman Empire) section of western Asia known as the “Mandate of Palestine”. There was an attempt in November of 1947 by the United Nations (UN) to partition the region into Arab and Israeli states with the Holy City Jerusalem as an international city. (United Nations, 1949) The Jews accepted this proposal while the Arab League and other groups did not. (Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2006). What followed was an Arab strike that became violent and sent the Jews on the defensive. They rebounded and brought the civil war to an end, expelling over 250,000 Arabs. The day before the British mandate was set to expire; the region was invaded by four Arab States starting the yearlong 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Ultimately a cease fire and truce was reached with the establishment of bo...
The Israeli-Palestine conflict is an event that has been well documented throughout the course of Middle-Eastern history. The conflict dates back as far as the nineteenth century where Palestine and Zionist, will later be known as Israel, are two communities each with different ideologies had the same overwhelming desire to acquire land. However, what makes this clash what it is, is the fact that both of these up and coming communities are after the same piece of land. The lengths that both sides went to in order obtain they believed was theirs has shaped the current relationship between the two nations today.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict derived from the Zionist population. The Zionist wanted to colonize a piece of land that could be considered the Jewish homeland. As they immigrated to different parts of Europe, they eventually landed in Palestine. In the beginning, the Zionist's immigration was not a problem to the people that were already living in Palestine. But the problems presented themselves because the Zionists decided to take over Palestine, and turn it into a Jewish state. As the years went on and the wars continued, majority of Palestine was conquered by Israel. And as a result of the wars, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has remained prevalent throughout history.
One of the major issues between Palestinians and the Israelis is the unresolved issue of Palestinians not having an independent homeland. The Palestinians will continue to resist Israel until they have obtained a land of their own separate from Israel. In 1947, the United Nation proposed a Partition Plan that would separate the land between the Jews and the Arabs. The Arabs turned the United Nation down, even though that would have resulted in them gaining their own land. In return the Jews decided to declare their own independent state, Israel. After declaring its self an independent state a war broke out between Israel and Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Palestinian, and Iraq. During the...
The fight between Israel and Palestine has been seen as an unfair battle, due to the high-tech supplies given to Israel by the US. Israel’s military is extremely strong and constantly growing, with people joining from all over the world, while Palestine’s main defense is a terrorist group called Hamas. Israel has been forced into building a wall surrounding the Gaza strip to stop these terror attacks from harming the citizens of Israel. Palestine believes that Israel’s fighting is too severe compared to Palestine’s attempts at attacking Israel. Gideon Levy wrote, “Once again, Israel’s violent responses, even if there is justification to them, exceed all proportion and cross every red line of humaneness, morality, international law, and wisdom (Document 5, Palestinian View)”. The Palestinians believe that the Israeli military is fighting too much and unfairly, and should not be allowed to take these measures against them.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been a never-ending problem facing the two states. It began in the 19th century during the Ottoman or British rule. This was between the Arabs living in Palestine and the Jews living in Israel. It was Zionism for the Jews against Arab nationalism. This conflict was known as the Arab-Israeli conflict. The main issues were; border disputes, security, the control of Jerusalem, recognition as well as Palestinian freedom of movement. These issues are what spear headed the intensifying of the conflict thus it became as part of day to day activity between the two states. The Zionists believed that Palestine was their land as according to them it was part of their historic homeland- Land of Israel. The Arabs however already inhabited the place and so there was a misunderstanding between two races. Generally that is when the conflict began till now.
The Israel-Palestine conflict is a religious and political war that first originated in 1948 when the United Nations, after British rule, created a separate Arab and Jewish state, due to the displacement of the Jews after World War 2. The Jews sought a new homeland and settled on a part of Palestine, as it traditionally belonged to the Jews, however the Arabs felt this was unfair and refused to give them land. The Jews originally inhabited the Palestine area prior to the conquest of the Ottoman Empire, who were fundamentally Arab-Muslims who caused the Jews to seek other lands such as Germany and Poland, where World War 2 largely took place. After World war 1, the Ottoman Empire collapsed from the conquest of Britain, which is when tensions between Arabs and Jews formed, as the British colonized both Arab and Jewish holy land and split territories instead of unifying them. The Arabs and Jews lived in harmony for a long period of time, as the Jews were situated across all of Europe, however the Holocaust cause the deaths of millions of Jews and in turn caused the Jews to relocate. Jewish nationalists called for a return to Zion, which is known as “Zionism”, which is the movement of the Jewish people to return to the “promised land”, which includes parts of Palestine. Yitzhak Rabin was born when tensions between the Arabs and Jews were forming and

The Arabs of Palestine were ‘not a national group and never had been.’ They were largely undifferentiated from the inhabitants of much of Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. They had no authentic tie to Israel, and many only came for economic opportunity after the Zionist movement began to make the land fruitful and the economy thrive. Palestine was never a separate state and Jerusalem was never a capital. The Zionists brought peace to Palestine, as well as prosperity, and when the UN tried to honor both Palestine and Israel in a two-state deal, Palestine selfishly
The issue of Palestine and Israel is one that has been hotly contested for over a thousand years. The last fifty years have been especially important in the history of the Jewish people and Palestinians. Since the death of Yasser Arafat on the 11th of November 2004 , and the election of Mahmoud Abbas as his successor as leader of the Palestinian Authority, significant steps have been taken towards a lasting peace. This will hopefully lead to a conclusion of the second Palestinian intifada, which began in late September 2000, and to an end of the oppression of the Palestinian people by the Israeli Defense Forces. Both Jews and Arabs have suffered heavily from the conflict, thousands of innocent civilians have died on both sides, and peace is in the interests of all.
The first act of conflict after WWII between the Yishuv/Jews and Palestinian Arabs, was a civil war that broke out because UN couldn’t decide plans on awarding land. The second act of conflict, was when the British forces withdrawal and another war broke out. The land the Jews and the Arabs were fighting for was named Israel and comprised of 78% of Palestine. A victory over the British by the Jews where six thousand Jews died made up only 1% of their population. This was a great victory for the Jews because it should how powerful they were. During the war, 750,000 Palestinian Arabs fled or expelled from their homes because they were losing the war. There was way more Jews forces/troops than Arabs forces/troops. Throughout the years of war,
The Palestine and Israel conflict has been carrying on for the better part of the last century. This is a conflict that seemingly has no end in sight. Multiple wars between Palestine and Israel have only complicated things for the inhabitants of the land they are fighting over. Due to the second war in 1967, Israel is now in control of the West Bank and the Gaza strip. This is particularly important to the conflict and how the dialectical perspective plays a part of it because these are two areas that many Palestinians call home, leaving them under Israel rule.
Palestine (and Israel) is a small area in the Middle East that is on the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea and borders the nations of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. On May 14, 1948, the state of Israel was declared by the Jewish Peoples council. Following this act, the Arab people of the surrounding countries attacked the new Israeli state. However Israel prevailed, and took almost all of the land previously designated to be ...
When Yasser Arafat addressed the United Nations General Assembly, he tried to articulate the actions the Palestinian Liberation Organization had taken and to justify those actions. Arafat points out that the struggles with Imperialism and Zionism began in 1881 when the first large wave of immigrants began arriving in Palestine. Prior to this date, the Muslims, Jews (20,000) and Christians all cohabitated peacefully (pop. 1/2 million). In 1917, the Belfour Declaration authorized increased immigration of European Jews to Palestine. 1 From 1917 to 1947, the Jewish population in Palestine increased to 600,000 and they rightfully owned only 6% of the Palestinian arable land. Palestine population at this time was now up to 1,250,000. 1
