Luxury Goods at Walmart
The first Walmart stores were established by Sam Walton of Rogers Arkansas 1962. Walmart today is no doubt the biggest retail store in North America and considered to be the most efficiently run retail business in the world. Walmart offers a wide variety of products and goods from grocery to automotive to everything in between. They are also known for their discounted prices and convenience. Many consumers do not look to Walmart for luxury goods such as Cartier, Prada, Coach and fine jewelry. When it comes to the more expensive, high quality goods consumers go to specialized shops to purchase these items. If Walmart offered these goods, would consumers pick them up while going for a gallon of milk? Typically no, and I think Walmart understands that. How can they reach the consumer that can, or are looking for a high priced diamond? This has to be a very tough question to answer. I would think it takes the very best marketing and advertising team the industry has to offer.
Personally, I do not think I would buy high end products from Walmart. For one, if I had the money to do so I want a professional in that product to discuss it with me. Expensive jewelry should be left to jewelers who have studied jewels. They

Websites like peopleofwalmart.com have probably not helped this aspect either. When going to buy a pricey item like a Rolex do you really want to walk out behind the person who just crawled out of bed with the flu? I know I don 't and maybe that 's a social judgement that is wrong, but I 'm seeing the environment aspect of the situation. I want to feel good, proud and confident about my expensive purchase and be matched with that feeling. Stores like Tiffany 's, McGivern jewelers, and high end clothing stores match this feeling with well dressed staff, clean atmosphere, and the expensive furniture, décor, even lighting enhances this frame of
Wal-Mart has been praised for providing cheap diverse products close to home, while providing hundreds of jobs. The leading discount retail store got its title by selling its items at a lower cost than other competing stores. Whereas competing grocery store Winn Dixie sells a steak for twenty dollars, Wal-Mart sells it for seventeen dollars. This price difference may not seem like much, but when Wal-Mart’s overall prices average differs from Winn Dixie’s by a few dollars, it begins to add up. Wal-Mart has allowed for low income families to buy products for a reasonable price. Along with its low prices, Wal-Mart has been known to sell wide variety of products. While some stores such as Winn Dixie, Kroger, and Publix only sell food items, Wal-Mart sells food items along with electronics, clothes, and toys.
The first Walmart was opened in Rogers, Arkansas in the year 1962 by a 44-year-old man by the name of Sam Walton. When he first envisioned Walmart, Walton believed that a successful business could be built around offering lower prices and great service. Despite his retail rivals laughing at his supposedly unsustainable business model, the company became hugely successful, and its success exceeded even Walton's expectations. The company went public in 1970, and the proceeds financed a steady expansion of the business. Today, Walmart is the largest retailer in the world, as it has 8,500 stores spread across 15 countries and annual revenues of $400 billion dollars. Moreover, Walmart is the
The first Walmart was located in Rogers, Arkansas, it was founded in 1962, by Sam Walton, he called it simply “Walton’s”. At first it started as a small town mom & pop store, and then it grew, the original store is actually now the location for The Walmart Museum.
Wal-Mart is, to some extent, a values-based corporation. The Wal-Mart Corporation takes a strong, direct stance on many issues. This can be seen in many items in which they refuse to sell, such as; music and games with explicit content, adult magazines, and the morning after pill. This shows character in the company because they are foregoing potential profits in order to enforce values that they believe in. Wal-Mart is probably making some people very happy by this moral stance that they have undertaken, and it gives a message to the public that Wal-Mart is not a heartless corporation like many others.
Wal-Mart products are not less expensive due to virtuosity. The "misguided hippie punk" seems to labor under the delusion that Wal-Mart and other big box retailers are somehow the savior of middle and lower class Americans. The low priced products are produced in foreign countries under horrible working conditions and are sold by workers at Wal-Mart stores that are paid poverty wages. ...ere Wal-Mart is accused of selling products at very low prices, which affects the other retailers in the market. Online marketing is also possible in this corporation and thus products are easily accessible to many customers.
and 2000 for a spokesperson had publicly mentioned that more than two thirds of our people are not trying to support a family that 's why our jobs are designed for, and yet it seems that they 're low wages and 2000 for a spokesperson had publicly mentioned that more than two thirds of our people are not trying to support a family that 's why our jobs are designed for, and yet it seems that they 're low wages don 't even support those who aren 't trying to support a family. So who do they help? Walmart doesn 't provide adequate healthcare, the healthcare isn 't just for the family it is for everyone who would like good health. But while Walmart has its downs it also has a few pros, like their genius inventions such as the Telon, And their ingenuity have helped make and bring Walmart to the top. They have intelligently used their barcodes on products to bring about information, such as how many our soul, how many are expected to be sold, prices and even discounts. Then Walmart brilliantly patented the idea so if other competitors want to stay in the game, they have to buy this idea from Walmart just to keep up with Walmart. It 's pretty brilliant when you think about it. They also use a open price system where you are drawn into a department by the low prices they stick in front and you stay because you assume that other products in this department will have similar low prices, when in reality they might be more expensive than other
Walmart is one of the most successful franchises of all time and continues to take fire from multiple angles, whether it’s about the costing of jobs, the wages, the health insurance, the small business destruction, or the environmental impact, but can always back itself up by negating those claims with facts that proves that it is beneficial to the community.
By keeping their prices low, Walmart can easily pass that savings on to their customers and in return, their buyers are able to have a higher income and can spend their money on more products, preferably Walmart’s.
Wal-Mart’s philosophy has always been to provide everyday low prices and superior customer service. But this philosophy might have stared potential customers away from Wal-Mart. Many people, including myself, have the misconception that Wal-Mart only sells necessities that the average working class family can afford. An extreme eye opener for me was a recent television commercial by Wal-Mart. I saw that they also sold flat panel televisions, which is considered a luxury item for any social class. After going to their website to see what other luxury items Wal-Mart sold I was amazed at the number of items I found that were not the necessities which I stereotyped them selling. Wal-Mart has to change the public’s opinion of the items that they sell and the types of people that it has in mind of serving.
Walmart product selections is almost three times as much as that of HEB. Walmart is a one-stop-shop store. Customers can walk into Walmart and literally shop until they drop. Walmart provides groceries, baby clothes, boys/girl clothes, adult men/women, shoes, backpacks, diapers, wipes, baby formula, electronics, candles, towels, laundry detergent, cookware, gardening tools, birthday cards, gift bags, candy, costumes, school supplies, office supplies, mini refrigerators, outdoor activities, toys of all ages, board games, bikes, scooters, helmets, sport activities, a fully functioning automotive department, where customers can get oil changes while they shop. An Ophthalmologist office with in store purchase and carry out, a nail and hair salon, and a fully functioning bank. If that’s not enough, why go home and cook after all that shopping when you can stop and grab a bite to eat at Mcdonalds or

They currently use an “omnistyle” strategy, which makes the inventory in stores and distribution centers available to customers to keep up with the eCommerce demands. Walmart’s omnistyle strategy is similar to what Apple is doing when they are enlisting their vendors to ship product directly to customers. This method cuts out a middle-man, potentially saves shipping costs, and gets the product to the customer quicker.
