Is This Love?

Dish after dish, after dish. I finished and stacked the papers, in total there was four. I looked to my left and noticed that Aru had just eaten the rest of his.

"Now that we've finished eating, would you like to talk for a bit?" He asked.

"Alright. What would you like to discuss?" I inquired.

"I wanted to know why you befriended Gasai-san? I think that my assumption is accurate, but I want to know from you first, before I tell you" he replied.

"Ok. Well in my mind I was thinking that I could see how her mind works or even gain her trust, ensuring that she won't hurt or aim to hurt me if the time comes. I also thought that maybe I could influence her to be less harmful to others, but that's obviously just wishful thinking on my behalf" I answered.

"Hmm? It seems that my assumption was accurate. There is something I'd like to add though; you could use this relationship to not only obtain some vital information, but you could also loosen her grasp on Yukiteru-kun. If you have this connection with her in the future and if she becomes too violent, you could probably convince her to not give in to her violent tendencies" he advised.

"Sure then, if her and I form a good relationship I will try my best to achieve that. Hopefully I can get those positive outcomes if the time comes, but getting her to make that promise was hard enough" I agreed.

"Now I have a question for you. You asked me why I moved to Sakurami City, so have you always lived here?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I've been here for as long as I can remember-" before Aru could fully answer my question, a lady dressed in a waitress uniform and a chef hat; placed a drink in the space between us. We stopped talking, curious as to why she would put that there when we didn't...

"You can put me down now"

"Aw, but it's nice holding you in my arms like this. Although since we're at your house, I suppose I've gotta release you now" he said, disappointedly, as he carefully placed me on the ground.

"Ah sorry? Anyway thank you very much for today, I had a lovely time" I said, slightly confused in how to react to what he said earlier.

"I was only teasing before, no need to apologise. I'm glad you had a good time as well, I am honoured that you were willing to come with me. Well goodbye Yumiko-chan, I'll be seeing you soon" he said, as he leant down and placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Well goodbye then Aru-kun!" I waved off, with a Speke and a blush. I closed the door and leaned on the door. I glanced down at the rise in my hand and smiled.

Why is my heart always beating so fast, when I'm with him? Is this what love is?
