Studying on the graduate level requires that some basic skills are demonstrated. One of the major skills that are required is the ability to use and integrate technology into your learning experience. At Trinity University, the use of technology is strongly suggested an often required in all courses of study. For this assignment we were tasked with using technology, namely the internet, to review and assess five different websites. Women for Women The first website that we were given to review was the Women for Women International website. This website was created to discuss women who have survived war, civil strife and other conflict. This group assists women in eight different countries that are plagued with war and have destitute living situations and communities. The women they serve are in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan. This non-profit organization provides these women with resources, tips, tools and the basic essentials to help them become better citizens in their societies. Women for Women International created this site to provide viewers with information about its purpose as well as its programs and initiatives that essentially fulfill their mission of helping those women. The information provided gives an up to date look at past and into future programs they have hosted as well as how people outside the organization can support. The site evokes emotions of empathy, sadness, but empowerment. The inclusion of personal stories and videos shows an intimate look into the lives of these women the organization is working with. Designed to attract women, the site directs its focus on how women can and why they should become sponso... ... middle of paper ... ...ultivated in becoming more aware and socially conscious. Overall, my favorite site was the GLSEN website. I had the best experience reviewing the site and it kept me engaged and wanting to go deeper into the information. I think that in the past so much has been expressed about racial injustices that this new experience of gender biases and prejudices and sexism are not being talked about. Schools in the past were not safe for minorities and now are not safe once again because of sexuality. More has to be done to inform and educate students, but because the topic is controversial it presents a challenge to educators and policy makers. I like how the websites gives training and simple ways of introducing students to the topic of inclusion and acceptance. It is definitely a resource I would share with other teachers so that they can adjust their classroom climates.
The fight for gender equality along with women’s rights has been a battle for centuries. Over time many, women activists and organizations have step forward to help in advancing women’s progress in the world today. One organization that has made a tremendous contribution and has been extremely influential for women is the National Organization for Women (NOW). The organization has been around since 1966 and has more than 500,000 members and more than 500 local and campus affiliates in all 50 states and the District of Columbia (National Organization for Women, 2012). NOW’s organization claims that there is a social problem of gender inequality and women’s rights and their goal is to “take action” by bringing about equality for all women. The National Organization for Women has six priority issues and they include: constitutional equality amendment, reproductive rights, racism, lesbian rights, violence against women and economic justice(National Organization for Women, 2012). The organization has been quite successful in raising awareness and creating social change over the years. By using the Social Problems Process to analyze the organization it would then become evident as to why NOW has been so successful, where they still need to improve and where they are heading.
Many colleges have failed in achieving the perfect education by the excessive use of technology. Hacker and Dreifus support the use of technology in many cases, such as having interactive question where the software can give the chance to review your work or giving hints to find the right answer (182). Nevertheless, they are completely aware that the use of technology needs to be supported by a good instruction inside the classrooms (183). The University of the Ozarks’ technological resources out of class are a great advantage to improve the learning process in students’ free time. Online discussions, submitting assignments, and taking online tests are the most common online activities for students in this university, this activities challenge the knowledge acquired in class. Moreover, using technology outside the classroom provides the opportunity to use all the class time to go on new topics, to discus, and to answer questions. Nevertheless, the University of the Ozarks is not using all its technological resources appropriately. Most of the classrooms are provided with interactive boards, speakers, and projectors that are hardly ever used. If the university used every technological resource at its maximum, the positive results of learning would
Overall, Jillian Berman uses great methods to support her opinion. She is effective with appealing to the emotions of the readers to bring across her point. The only weakness displayed in this article is the author's prejudices towards the discomfort women feel. However, for a female audience this article is strong and convincing. Her biases become support to strengthen the article when it is read by the the proper audience. The combination of the techniques and the way they build on each other, illustrate a solid and persuasive article.
The campaign has been used as an organizing strategy by individuals and groups around the world to call for the elimination of all forms of violence against women by—raising awareness, providing knowledge and experience sharing forums, demonstrating the solidarity of the movement for women and human

The Young Women’s Christian Association has become a worldwide force for female empowerment, health and equality. The mission of the YWCA, for the past 150 years, has been to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families and strengthen communities. Begun in 1858 in NY, today, the YWCA has grown to 125 countries worldwide and serves more than 25 million people in need of services and is growing. It is currently the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world and has had a role in major movements in race relations and labor representation. On a local level, the YWCA offers safe havens for victims of domestic violence, provides rape crisis counseling, help with childcare and job training. As a nonprofit organization, the YWCA has had some financial hardships due to a flood of low income high need individuals during the past decade. Closures have impacted communities negatively. This paper discusses the history of the YWCA, the trends affecting, and possible changes that could have a positive impact on the YWCA.
Education plays a key role in the development of one’s character and future achievements. The importance of education has elevated in numerous ways over time. The higher an education a person receives is expected to give an individual a better occupation and therefore result in more earned money by that individual. Human desires have led to the great want to achieve the best education in order to ensure that more then just the basic needs and wants are met by that individual, whether it is for themselves or for those that are dependent upon them. Hence the best education one can receive will contribute to the fulfillment of their desires and wants. In recent years the internet has played quite a major part in education. The internet has become almost more significant in the classroom then a piece of paper and a pencil, to a class. It has become more then just a resourceful tool for finding information it has become a means of a must have item. Such dependence is very detrimental to the educational process for although the internet seems to be everywhere, there are still many people, willing to learn, who lack such a resource.

Today, Americans are faced with the increasing change of technology in our everyday life. Sometimes the change happens and we do not realize how it affects our lives. I think it is always a good idea to talk to someone that is older than yourself, like your grandparents to remind you of the times in their younger years. Hopefully, that will open your eyes to the changes we face in this generation and the generation to come. In this chapter, the author explores the relationship of changing technology to changes in both the environment and social institutions.
their dorm room or apartment is sit down at their computer and go online. They proceed to either, read their e-mail, check their online courses for new assignments, or go on one of the many communication websites or programs that are available currently to this generation. None of this would be possible without the readily available Internet access that we often take for granted. The Internet has proven not only useful for entertainment purposes, but has also dramatically changed the educational approach, for both students and educators, and the way knowledge is being obtained.
This paper discusses the relationship between technology and society. It focuses on how technology has influenced various aspects of the society. The areas looked are: how technology has affected the communication, transportation, education, health, economic activities, environment, food production, food conservation and preservation and food distribution. It has gone further to explain how technology has radically changed the demographic structure of the societies in question, specifically Japan society. In addition, it has discussed how technology has influenced government policy formulation.

Abstract: Recently, there has been a rush to create web-based instructional courses. The approach that is being taken to create web-based courses is to create websites that will function as the central distributors of information and materials. Based on the format and content of the course, the student is to go through lesson by lesson to complete courses. In this paper, I address some of the problems inherent in this approach, especially with respect to 18-22 year-old undergraduate education.
B. Organizations of this kind in the UK believe they are capable of stopping violence and creating a better world. But violence in women seems to have been forgotten (it causes more deaths in women than cancer, malaria, traffic accidents and war). That’s the reason why numerous organizations in the UK focus on helping women worldwide with diverse kinds of programs. The UK organizations develop programs to deal with women’s inequality in the planet’s poorest places to show them to make decisions in their own life for them, for their families, community and eventually to lend a hand to other women with the same problems. The importance of these kinds of programs and institutions is that they provide motivation and are able to bring a social change to the international communities. These institutions had achieved great success teaching women how to overcome the taboos that society had created in them.
Today, it is so clear to see many significant changes in the education around the world because of computer. Almost all schools and universities have become involved with computer’s system to provide an appropriate environment for students to study or prepare for classes. For example, Oklahoma State University provides a crucial program called Desire to Learn (D2L) which is an online website made for teachers to post assignments, grades, and other notes related to the courses. And this program is so helpful because it gives students a nice chance to study from home, participate on announced events, or even avoid students from getting in trouble such as receiving email when weather conditions are not good to attend classes. Moreover, in the past students and researchers used to face difficulties to get information and data related to subject. However, nowadays computer makes it easier because of the gigantic data and information that computer has. Computer has a revolutionary influence in enhancing our education.
