Infrastructure Strategic Analysis and Solution Exercise (ISASE)
Introduction
Smith’s Media Services plc has a network which is in need of modernisation. This report will got through the problems with their current network, solutions to their problems and anything they could do to improve and modernise their network.

Problems
1. Extensive amount of under-utilized servers taking up more space and consuming more resources than can be justified by the amount of work they are actually doing. This is known as IT server sprawl. This causes a continual need for additional resources to manage infrastructure including funds, manpower and equipment for repairs.
2. Parts of the network are unmanaged, and risks are anticipated as a consequence.
3. The company believes the network system in place is not scalable due to projected demand over the next 5-10 years based on their new corporate plan. Meaning they do not think the current network will be able to cope with the predicted future usage as the company grows.
4. Due to security requirements as a result of a financial contract, the internal network is separated into three physical networks – FINCON (for the financial services contract), GEN (general use including for personal devices), and CORP (for corporate devices only).
5. Organisation does not manage personal devices at the present time in any way. This could allow viruses or other adware to access the organisations network, if they are on the device when it connects to the network.
6. At times there is often a need, due to a new project, to locate server resources on a particular corporate site. Unfortunately at present if a project on a corporate site requires localised resources, these are not provisioned and instead the projec...
