A dusty, one-room schoolhouse on the edge of a village. An overworked teacher trying to manage a room full of boisterous children. Students sharing schoolbooks that are in perpetual short supply, crammed in rows of battered desks. Children worn out after long treks to school, stomachs rumbling with hunger. Others who vanish for weeks on end, helping their parents with the year-end harvest. Still others who never come back, lacking the money to pay for school uniforms and school supplies. Such is the daily dilemma faced by many young people in the developing world as they seek to obtain that most precious of all commodities, an education.
With the global economy relying more than ever on brainpower and innovation rather than raw materials and manual labour as generators of wealth, a good education has become the key factor determining who will succeed and who will be left behind.
In Sophie McBain’s The learning curve, she describes that poverty-stricken children in the African country of Uganda haven’t had an opportunity for secondary school education for years owing to the fact that they couldn’t afford it. Due to the costly expense, only “one in four children of secondary school age” have been enrolled in school in Uganda up until 2008 (Sophie McBain). Those who weren’t privileged with attending school were then consigned to a life of living “on less than $1.25 a day,” condemning them to poverty the rest of their life (Sophie McBain). McBain explains that one of these impoverished children, John-Mary Nantengo, had high aspirations of going to a secondary school during his juvenile years,
Education is a basic human right. Like all human rights, it is universal and inalienable—everyone, regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity or economic status, is entitled to it. Yet according to UNICEF, in 2006, 93 million children were not in school. Almost 80 percent of these children lived in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. For too many children, the basic human right to education is an idea that has not become reality. Education in Third World countries today is an effort that has gone somewhat unnoticed. Third-world countries struggle with numbers of problems. Food shortages, lack of clean drinking water, and disease are just a few issues that developing countries are facing. Another important issue is that of education. Several factors make it obvious that an increase in education is greatly needed in developing countries and solving this problem may prove very difficult in these poverty-stricken areas. Leaving the population of these countries uneducated creates a vicious cycle that only sends them spiraling deeper into these problems. Education is an important issue that needs addressed immediately for change to occur.
Education is valued greatly in the contemporary world. We believe that the knowledge gained at universities and colleges is the key to finding a good job, being prosperous and succesful in life. Education is seen as a kind of legacy – it encompasses all the values, experiences, and achievements of our ancestors, and in order to ensure the survival of a culture it must be passed on to future generations. However, schooling should never have been made mandatory.
Not only do schools need supplies, but so do the children. In many areas of the world parents are struggling to feed their children, so buying books and supplies is not their highest area of concern. Being able to pay for these supplies for not only the school but also the students requires a lot of money and time. However there are several foundations which are finding cheaper and faster ways to build schools for developing countries. Non governmental organizations (NGO) are working together to help these areas build schools and supply books and materials to help students succeed. These are agencies that work by themselves without funding from the government. One organization, Women’s Right to Education Programme, is “established with the aim to provide a platform for Women, Youth and other stakeholders in education as well as liaise and initiate projects to facilitate our quest for quality education for all. With the capabilities of the Internet and what one can spend his time doing on the Internet, the questions about the future of the Internet’s affects on its users continues to grow rapidly. The use of computer technology in the classroom is growing to be a major concern for parents and educators all over. How much time should children be allowed to browse on the Internet? Is the Internet affecting the children’s, the future of society, ability to focus? Should parents and educators trust the websites that students get their information from? Although the Internet has done an absolutely fabulous job at making what may have seemed impossible possible, with live video chatting, music streaming, and online books, the Internet is definitely responsible reading and intellectual engagement problems in students.
According to the goal, the UN intends to make sure that there is equitable and inclusive quality education for all. However, the UN has noted that there are hindrances to this being achieved. First, there is a shortage of trained teachers in most places. It has been discovered that in most places, there is an inadequate number of teachers and for those who are there, most of them are not trained. Because of this situation, the children are not able to learn the basics such as language and math skills. The United Nations has estimated that about 2 million additional tutors are needed to acquire the common primary education by the year 2020. In addition, there is aneed for an additional 4.5 million extra teachers to acquire the universal lower secondary education by the year 2030 (Fukuda-Parr& Lopes 48). The aspect of poverty also has an impact on quality education. Since some of the families are poor, education has remained a costly affair, and the children are compelled to remain at home. In places such as in Africa, much as education is notionally free, parents will still pay for some ‘necessary items’ such as extra lessons, uniforms, stationery and infrastructure
In the past few years, Indonesia has experienced the integration of the internet into society. This situation has created their presence in the market with taking us to the aim of this study that for know the reasons of university student on using internet for education. The data of benefits of using Internet for Education were collected and analyzed by using questioner comprised of 400 papers were collected and compared, it was performed by spreading the questionnaires to the two specific area at exact time in Pelita Harapan University, Lippo Karawaci and Trisakti University, Jakarta as sample to gain the senses. As the results, 31.50% of students said about they using internet because of internet was very easy to used , 27.75% said that internet cheaper then others, 23.00% said internat faster when use to search data, and 17.75% said that internet was better then library. Using internet for education as a facilities is very important thing because it make much advantages compared by another facilities.
The traditional education environment is starting to implement new ways to teach students with the rapid development of technology. One strategy is the use of the internet to communicate, listen, and share ideas among students and professors alike; specifically the use of the internet realm in wikis, blogs, and podcasts. Blogs are either a website in itself or a part of a website where something like an interactive journal is being used; a person can write about anything they wish, link or show images, and decide whether other people can comment on the blog entry. Wikis are websites or webpages dedicated to providing information about a topic and can be edited by either the members of that site. Podcasts are digital files in the form of audio, video, or both that can be downloaded online onto computers, MP3 players, certain phones, and many more devices. Wikis, blogs, and podcasts could positively alter the educational format of lectures for students.

Students need to know which way it is that they learn the best. Each person has to find out which way they learn the best to better themselves.
