After graduation, I accepted the position of Graduate-In-Training in Coca-Cola Nepal out of curiosity. Little did I know then that this job would help me understand what I really want for myself. Working at Coca-Cola provided me with ample opportunities to understand the management and functioning of multinational companies. However, I always found myself looking for challenges in the field of management that were more intellectual than managerial. As I realized I might be a good candidate for a career in academia, I accepted the position of visiting lecturer of Statistics at Thames International College, Kathmandu. Working with students, igniting intellectual curiosity and helping them grow academically was an amazing experience and I anticipate continuing this in the future. I, therefore, want to pursue my interest in management but in an academic setting by obtaining a Ph.D. degree from IESE with a specialization in Economics and Financial Management.
During my undergraduate studies at Smith College, I equipped myself with various theoretical courses in Economics and Econometrics. Concurrently, I also focused on taking rigorous classes in Mathematics and Statistics. After realizing the importance of empirical tools in economic research, I enrolled in the prestigious and challenging General Course program at the London School of Economics (LSE) where I took proof-based advanced Econometrics and Mathematical Statistics. Therefore, through the courses I took during my undergraduate years, I have established a strong analytical and quantitative background required to be a successful Ph.D. candidate in Management at IESE Business School.

An interest in business and agricultural studies has always taken some form throughout my life, whether it was running a farm in seventh grade, building a mentoring program during freshmen year or acting as the treasurer for National Honors Society. Public Administration, as a field, had always captivated me right from my undergraduate days. I believe my curiosity for this field comes from my family. Both my father and my uncle were politicians. During my early days, I used to go to my father’s office where I had a great chance to observe different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory of politics. After finishing high school, I made up my mind to pursue a career in Political Science. For this reason, I was enrolled to Istanbul Bilgi University’s Political Science program. After having completed my Bachelor’s Degree, I decided to excel in this field by completing a Master’s degree.

I took up Computer Science and Engineering as my discipline in Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, one of the premier institutes in India. My undergraduate education has been a great learning and enriching process for me. It exposed me to all the core areas of Computer Science like operating systems, database management systems, networks and network security, data structures, algorithms and software engineering. These courses have given me a good foundation in the core concepts. My interest lies in Database Management, Programming Languages, Theory of Computation, and Software Engineering. I am fully acquainted with the fast growing subjects like Object Oriented Programming, Analysis and Design. On the other hand, the intensive laboratory classes exposed me to a fascinating world of experimentation. It was here that I discovered the qualities of perseverance and diligence in myself. I feel that these courses have done a lot to prepare me for my future studies and research work.
Modules I am taking include Economics For Business, Financial Reporting, Management accounting and polio analysis. It includes other modules relating to marketing, finance, and management which expands my knowledge beyond accounting and finance and allow me the opportunity to look at financial market from multiple perspectives. One of my favorite subjects is Economics for Business and I got 70% in overall. I am also attracted by the charm of programming and able to solve some mathematical problems according to programming. During the study of financial modelling, I tried to find an easier way to calculate some investment models and pictured some K line graph by programming. I also got high marks in coursework of financial modeling (82) and corporate finance (90). To be excellent in investing in the stock market, real estates and other fields, I aspire to carry on my graduate study in the field of accounting and finance to make rational investment decisions. The Quantitative management and portfolio analysis enhance my comprehension of accounting principles and the investment strategies. This will contribute towards my further study of accounting and finance. I successfully completed Year 1 of my BA (Hons) Economics course with an aggregate mark of 62%. This year, I am expecting that I can achieve a 2.1 class
Throughout, my inclination has always been towards academics and I consistently strive to achieve the best. I attended one of the best schools in my city, National Public School, Bangalore. Be it in school or my college, I have always been very enthusiastic about learning something new.
