How Did the Period of Renaissance Alter Man’s View of Man?

The Renaissance period was a truly enlightening period in history that birthed many great advancements in all fields of science, and inventions. How did the period of time we know as, “The Renaissance”, change or alter man’s view of man? Well, we know that in the Middle Ages, the Church had authority over most people, and people had very few rights. In 1400’s, the Middle Ages had ended and then began the Renaissance. The Renaissance was a monumental change in Europe which lasted for 300 years. Humanity as we know it was changed drastically by this rebirth of Europe, and truly enlightening time period. The cause of this was many bright minds using their resources to their maximum potential; beginning new advancements in art, literature, and science. What were these advancements more specifically? Well, first let’s define our terms so we know what we’re talking about first. The Middle Ages was the period of European history from the fall of the Roman Empire in the West in the 5th century, to the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Monasteries are a building or buildings occupied by a community of monks living under religious vows. Illiteracy is the inability to read or write. Serfs are agricultural laborers bound under the feudal system to work on his lord's estate. Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters.
Art has been an enlightening, and creative activity that many have taken a part of throughout the course of history. How did art change during the Renaissance? ...human body and examine it, and they could determine where the muscles, bones, and organs were. The people could see that the body was not controlled by silly zodiac symbols. Science and art go hand and hand in this particular situation because without knowledge of how to properly fabricate their findings onto a piece of paper, they needed to know how to draw it properly. Without the advancements in art, they would not have been able to show others the important information discovered. Science and art changed man’s view of man. Literature did not really help this process, and was more off to the side of the operation, and helped the world in other ways besides really changing man’s view of man. The renaissance was a truly great period of time, and we should all be grateful that we had these magnificent minds like Leonardo da Vinci to figure out so many unknown things.
