1. There are a number of characters in this book, choose one and tell us why you would want to be that person.
If I had to select which character I would want to be in the book hot zone, I would want to be Lieutenant Colonel Nancy Jaax. Nancy Jaax has the essence of perfection that all women desires to have. She is a veterinarian in the U.S. army, a mother, a wife who knows martial arts and she is also a strong individual who takes charge when it comes to her work and dangerous situations. She has a specialty in the effects of Biosafety level 4 hot agents. As a character in the book hot zone, Nancy is like the superhero that all women would like to be, she was a tough, intelligent, and clever person who never backs down from a dangerous situation. She allows no barriers to get in her way. Her goal in life is to become a pathologist at the institute. Even under all circumstances of being put down and have receive negative comments for instance, "Workforce is not for a married women." Other women who might received the same comments are not strong enough to stand up and show them what they are made of, but Nancy stand up for what she believed in and what she can accomplish and proved everyone wrong. She worked hard to do her best, all of her hard work has paid off and she later become a pathologist and she had finally fulfill her goals. She is a person who has an impact on all women lives and shows that no matter what you want to achieve in life you can accomplish it does no matter the gender of the person.
2. In your opinion did the government react appropriately when they decided to destroy the monkeys in Reston? Why or why not?
