The way people ultimately view homosexuality, whether in religion, politics or modern popular culture, is all determined by traditional or changing points of view. This essay will discuss mainly liberal and conservative Christian interpretations of the Bible, including many verses that may support or condemn homosexuality. It will also discuss the political views and laws against same-sex marriage and the social activism in the homosexual community. This is all about view points and it has many conflicting views and arguments.

Conservative views are often very traditional and interpret most or all Bible passages regarding, or allegedly involving homosexuality as condemning. They interpret them as an abomination and that it is hated by God. Some consider it an “ordinary” sin; one that can easily be forgiven. Other Christians say it is a sin and you are damned for eternity if you are homosexual. They believe it denies you passage to heaven. They consider any homosexual relationship, lifetime or non-committed relationship, one to be damned.

Liberal viewpoints are usually more changing and interpret the Bible in many different ways. Many liberal Christians ignore the English translations of the Bible, the King James Version. Most liberal Christians refer to Greek and Hebrew versions of the Bible. They are usually the ones who interpret Bible verses different from Christians and sometimes it is in the support of homosexuality. Liberal Christians are often the ones who believe homosexuality is a normal sin; one that can be forgiven like any other sin, repenting.

...f the movement, it has never moved to accept homosexuality. In this day and age you are considered an outsider if you are homosexual. There are many discriminations and many obstacles for homosexuals. There are many activism movements seeking equal gay rights in popular culture such as the Gay-Straight Alliance, where straight people help to raise social awareness as to the discrimination of homosexuals.

In conclusion, there are many arguments in the very broad and general topic of homosexuality. It is a very heated and controversial subject, worldwide. It is viewed differently and every person forms their own opinions. Nonetheless, it is a battle, on all fronts of our world. Whether it be religious, political or social, there is always an argument for or against homosexuality along with a huge mountain of “evidence” and theories you have to sort through yourself.
