The history of the project management is been very ancient, even before the existence of Gantt chart, history offers serval successful project complete, the Great wall of China, The pyramid, and coliseum each one is good example of project. For each of these project someone should hold to manage hundreds to thousands of worker for many years, and make sure the project in progress in right way and track them and at last the result should be satisfy. For the modern project management it seems there is no agreement when it’s start, there is different opinion how starts the project management. The forefather of the project management are the Henri Foyal and Henry Gantt. Several author disagree and serval will agree. Both of the Henri Foyal and Henry Gantt were lived in eighteenth century, they have significant contribution in the history of modern project management in which they develop the Gantt chart which have vital role in project success and recognized, and the feature of breaking down the large project into more smaller project. In order for better understanding the history of modern project management, the scientist divided it into four period: prior to 1958, 1958 – 1979, 1980 – 1994, 1995 to present. The first period is asserted that it’s the origin period of the modern project management, and beginning of the modern management. On other hand it says the project management will be more professional and having unique skill for functional effect on the projects. The role of project management will be more in industrial fields.
