The music of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash is the building block of punk and rock ‘n’ roll, since the time of Woodstock. Crosby, Stills, and Nash or CSN in short is a “super-group” who was formed from three big bands in the 1960s, “The Byrds”, “Buffalo Springfield”, and “The Hollies”. The group later in 1969 expended with Nill Young and became CSNY. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young released their first album in 1969 with two big hits, “Marrakesh Express”, and “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes”. Their songs convey a strong emotional truths, social awareness and equality. Their song “Helplessly Hoping” from that album describes their persona; Along with the elements of their music, and tune that fit in so well in the song, which emphasizes the meaning of the words they try to convey, and their message about the love of two people. The harmony of the group is perfectly shown in this song. When a person hears it for the first time it sounds like one person sings it. The song opens with hope, “Helplessly Hoping”, that even in despair, there is hope. The word choice in the song is evocative and elegant, but it can have different meanings. The words are full of mystery, and the alliteration can make one’s spirit uplifting. The song is a non-verbal dialogue between a guy who loves a girl, waiting for her, and wonders about her love for him. The guy is being her harlequin, who hovers close to her, so she could notice him. The guy sees the girl’s good qualities, and true and kind spirit she has. Spirit is considered something that flows in the air, so that is why he wished he could fly and grasp her. The song’s intangible spirit changes how they both felt each time. He can see her, but he is speechless, and does not know how to expr... ... middle of paper ... ... it. At the end they bestow the feeling of exposure that in spite of her uncertainty, there is something in her, which keeps her close by. CSNY is profoundly successful in conveying their message in the song by using the right lyrics and vocals accompanied by the tune of the guitars. “Helplessly Hoping” can be interpreted in so many ways that in either way it, nonetheless, will insinuate on the same thing, which is love. As they put it love is not lying, and it will always be around. Listening to the song can put one in an emotional roller-coaster that its theme can be known beforehand. This perplexed relationship describes the essence of love, and its implications. It reflects on how love can be capricious, which gives a sense of mystery. The harmony of the group in the song makes it one of my favorites, and puts it in my top list of love songs in all times.
At first she sees these beautiful words, kinda like how at first in her relationship with Steve it was all great; it seemed so perfect and beautiful. When she buys a word it's like she is entranced by the idea of it; like she is entranced by the idea of getting married. In the story she says “they were beautiful on their own and they were beautiful all together”(pg 95). In this she seems to be so over come on how wonderful these words seamed and like when she was craving the mango she couldn’t think of anything else. When it gets to the liquid she notece that there is something not right, but she wanted to believe it was still ok. “I went over to LAKE and held that and it had litter ferns floating ... It was next to OCEAN which looked more or less exactly like LAKE. (pg 98)” At this time she was getting suspicious, but still hoping and holding on to the idea of how wonderful it is. This is kinda how when she mentioned that they had there rocky times where they would fite, but then got over it and stayed together because she still had hope that it would work. She was less in love with him more in love with the idea of the relationship. When she got to the gasses part of the tour she new for sure something was wrong and wanted to get out of it. This was the end of
Stephen King published his novella “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption in 1982. In 1994 this novella was turned into a movie called The Shawshank Redemption. Frank Darabont wrote the screenplay. A good adaptation will capture the same overall essence of the written book or novella. Darabont did a wonderful job of adapting this novella into a movie. He captured the overall essence in a way that makes a heart rejoice in happiness and relief. The adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption is very well done.
Valerie Bettis created the solo dance, The Desperate Heart, in 1943. The dance was created with a dramatic touch, depicting the feeling of lost love. Bettis set this piece with the objective of analyzing lost love in a back and forth matter. This goal was achieved throughout Bettis’ work with the help of music, lighting, attire, vocals, imagery, and choreography. The vocals at the beginning and end of the dance are a poem written by John Malcom Brinnin also named The Desperate Heart. My analysis is based off of Bettis’ solo performed by Brook Notary at a concert on June 11, 1993.
The female lover's attitude towards the relationship is enthusiastic and certain. Her fresh attitude and passion is fundamental key of her positive attitude, which is one of the aspects that shows the difference between men and women. In the first stanza, second line, "[m]y one love" indicates that this relationship might be the first relationship of the girl. Relationship is a new and fresh thing to the girl, she has no knowledge about it. However, the first relationship is very important to most girls, she does want this relationship to be beautiful as well as felicific. There is another idea of "One", "one" could also suggest the meaning of "only", which reveals that the girl is naive and innocent because she is willing to believe that this relationship will be her only relationship whereas the fact is most first relationships will not necessarily last forever. In line 3, the girl "ran the slope of high hill", "ran" shows that the girl is full of passion and she is raring to go to the top of high hill. It is because she has never experienced before, but she is eager to try, to experience, the girl wants to find out more about relationship. So she will run to start this relationship. R...
Any interpretation of this story is due to the reader’s personal emotions and feelings toward his or her own Papa. This story can be either a dance between him and his father, thus bringing them closer together. However, there is a darker side of this poem, on this side it is an unsettling fight between a boy and his drunken father and all the intimacy of the dance does not make an impression on the reader and is overshadowed by the anger they feel.
After Laura meets Carmilla, Laura begins to catch strange feelings for Carmilla; sometimes of love and sometimes of hatred. Laura says “I had no distinct thoughts about her while such scenes lasted, but I was conscious of a love growing into adoration, and also of abhorrence. This I know is paradox, but I can make no other attempt to explain the feeling”. (Le Fanu 22). Here she has a contradictory thought on Carmilla which can be clearly expressed by the song I have chosen; “I hate you, I love you”. Moreover, as the song goes on, there is a line “Don’t want to, but I can’t put” (Gnash, “I hate you, I love you”) which portrays the situation of Laura where she says “I used to wish to extricate myself; but my energies seemed to fail me”. (Le Fanu 22). She tries to rescue herself from Carmilla but all in vain. This song will help a reader/viewer better understand the feelings of admiration and condemnation Laura has for
Throughout the song the tone changes from a disappointed and unsatisfied feeling until it progresses into a hopeful and maturing tone. This transformation of tone follows the story almost perfectly and allows the reader to feel a connection to the transformation of the protagonist. This transformation from “expecting the world” (line 1) to realising that some things must happen for others to come into motion “the sun must set to rise” (line 24) is especially impactful and emotional when paired with the lines “ This could be para-para-paradise, para-para-paradise” that are repeated to show her newly established happiness and maturity. Ultimately, this progression from disappointed

The song explores change within an individual by utilizing various language techniques including rhyme, writer's purpose, tone and also other techniques such as audio techniques and solutions to pre-mentioned problems. The aspect of self-change within this text is obvious as the text explores the concept that most large-scale change stems from change within an individual. The text informs the reader that by starting with yourself and altering your own ways you can influence others and even the world and "make the world a better place".

Translating a song involves a certain amount of interpretation; it isn’t just about what the writer intended. Translating a song is about how I, as the listener, feel about the song, and what the song makes m...
When first approaching this work, one feels immediately attracted to its sense of wonder and awe. The bright colors used in the sun draws a viewer in, but the astonishment, fascination, and emotion depicted in the expression on the young woman keeps them intrigued in the painting. It reaches out to those who have worked hard in their life and who look forward to a better future. Even a small event such as a song of a lark gives them hope that there will be a better tomorrow, a thought that can be seen though the countenance by this girl. Although just a collection of oils on a canvas, she is someone who reaches out to people and inspires them to appreciate the small things that, even if only for a short moment, can make the road ahead seem brighter.

He wants it to be told that to write poetry is just as difficult as his attempt to court Maud. It is extremely difficult to produce a beautiful poem, as it is difficult to fall in love. Many people think that writing poetry is not hard work, as falling in love seems to be easy for some people. To make, “sweet sounds together” as in a po...
