Increasing awareness and concerns of consumers regarding food safety and quality, forced many food industries to enhance their products safety and quality by implementing quality assurance and safety management systems.
In response to consumer pressure, many industries adopted Hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) system because it is well known preventative, cost effective system if implemented effectively, as well as it is required by law.
HACCP can be identified as a systematic scheme to identify, evaluate and control the hazards. It can be applied to many types of products and processes from primary production to consumption (From farm to fork).
However, before a HACCP system is carry out, some basic procedures need to be in place which is essential for food safety and it include factors to control raw materials ,personal hygiene and training ,operational control, waste management, good laboratory practice ,traceability and recall procedures.
All of the above mentioned procedures can be under Prerequisite programmes (PRPs) term which was first described by WHO. (Wareing, 2010)
Moreover, in order to maintain and strength the HACCP system, quality management system should be integrated such as ISO 9000.
ISO 9000 sires of standards are requirements that must be addressed by each company to meet product specification and customer demands every time and on time. (6)
Regular management review of problems and customer complaints besides the records and corrective action is undertaken by ISO 9000 quality systems. In fact, the majority of larger food companies have a consumer service section and technical one in turn to handle consumer safety and quality issue as well as communication with the competent authoritie...

...s the radio frequency identification systems (RFID) where the information can be read by a radio frequency link. (FSA, 2002)
Moreover, within EUs laws each animal must be tagged with certain information like their origin, the date for slaughtering, and after that stamp them with the abattoir traceability code. (EU ,2007)
Overall, traceability system is considered one of the pre-requisite programmes and without such programmes in place, HACCP system will be ineffective. In addition, traceability system is a legislative requirement in which require on each pack a special batch code to aid in product recalls in case of detecting any problem and withdrawal it from the market before reaching the consumer hand and to facilitate international trade ,thus protecting both consumer health and reputation of the food industry .

When I was born, my family had just migrated to California from Mexico. In a new country, my father worked in landscaping earning less than $4 dollars an hour, while my mother relied on public transportation to take her newborn child to and from doctor visits. In the land of opportunity, my family struggled to put a roof over our heads. But never discouraged, my parents sought to achieve their goals and worked tirelessly to raise my younger brother and I. From a young age, I was taught the importance of education; this became a major catalyst in my life. My desire to excel academically was not for self-gain, but my way of contributing to my family’s goals and aspirations.

I was born into poverty even before I was even born. My way of life was set even before my existence. Growing up I was strongly encouraged to dedicate my energy into my school work. Knowing that someday all that hard work and dedication will one day pay off. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school when I realized the true importance of going on to college really was. The only reason I excelled in my studies was because I was always enforced too, so when it came down to my decision to continue school I didn’t know what to do. I decided that even with a degree in today’s economy it won’t have much of an impact. But I couldn’t have been more wrong than ever. I eventually came to my own senses and decided for myself that all my years of being in school, planning for my future, long hours of hard work and perseverance shouldn’t go to waste. I shouldn’t waste my own intelligence and give up on what’s important. For me, a lower class civilian, the American dream is very much alive and achievable. And it guarantees a better life for me in the future. I decided to go to college because although I knew I should continue my education, I never realized how important it was for my future and well-being to have that knowledge and use it to better use. Although I may not come from wealth and will have to work twice as hard as the rest, I believe that as long as I remain

My parents came to the U.S. chasing the same goal that millions of other foreigners were chasing: a better future for their children. Truthfully, they found it. I wouldn’t have been provided with such an abundance of opportunities anywhere else in the world. It’s simple: the best universities in the world are found in the U.S. and I’m lucky to be attending one of them. So, I am a product of the American idea: that if you work hard, you’ll make it in life. If not, I’m on my way at least. Although I’ve been blessed with countless opportunities, my parents haven’t been so lucky. They surely have worked hard, at times taking up two jobs just to make sure we’re comfortable. So why is it that the rags to riches story hasn’t been true for us. It’s been 15 years. Well, I firmly believe that that story is currently being written, through me. Every family’s experience is different. I have friends whose parents did the same thing my parents did and struck gold mines shortly after their arrival. I also have friends whose story is similar, but who are worse off than we are. It’s a gamble, but a gamble that’s worth it. I’m a firm believer that hard works pays off sooner or later and that’s the American
“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you,” said my hero, Riley B. King, about the value of knowledge. I can’t stress enough the importance of having an education. I must admit though, with huge regret, throughout my academic career I’ve been careless and ungrateful. My ignorance led me to believe that my adult life would consist of manual labor, struggle reaching ends meet, and unhappiness just like my parents today. It wasn’t until a near-death experience, during my gang affiliation, and the day my high school counselor informed me about my availability on attending a university, that I realized the education is essential to my future success. Being undocumented, I grew up frowned upon in society. I had
The system is used globally to guarantee food safety, compliance with quality standards and creates value for consumers. The internal system is reviewed by a specialist team to ensure the system is kept up to date with rules, regulations, laws and specific requirements etc. To ensure the high standards of quality are kept in Nescafe they have implemented a plan known as the “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP), which allows the company to cover all parts of manufacturing, including normal operating tasks, staff supervision and training, equipment maintenance and the handling of
Food safety traceability system is an application in IOT. For example, all the pork into a farmer's market will be put on an electronic chip to trace its production, processing, wholesale and retail. Consumers can get a receipt which contains retrospective food safety code to know all the information on origin place, abattoir and quality supervision
Food safety is an increasingly important public health issue. Governments all over the world are intensifying their efforts to improve food safety. Food borne illnesses are diseases, usually either infectious or toxic in nature, caused by agents that enter the body through the ingestion of food. “In industrialized countries, the percentage of people suffering from food borne diseases each year has been reported to be up to 30%. In the United States of America, for example, around 76 million cases of food borne diseases, resulting in 325,000 hospitalizations and 5,000 deaths, are estimated to occur each year.” (Geneva 2)
Food safety culture society can be considered of comparable significance (3)to administrative consistence and client benefit . On the off chance that any of these three perspectives fizzle , the business itself could come up short (Ungku Zainal Abidin et al , 2013 ) . Numerous businesses additionally lift security to the same or even a larger amount of significance than these as no business can exist without representatives . Food safety highlights in the work environment is another great case of the significance of value affirmation in the public eye today (Taylor , 2011 ) . Regardless of whether it is the honesty of a security bridle for working at statures or the water testing for the city , quality estimations , preparing and framework arrangement can all straightforwardly influence workers and even open (4)wellbeing (Griffith , 2012 ) . Food safety is a logical idea portraying and dealing with , readiness , and capacity of foods in ways that anticipate foodborne disease . This incorporates various schedules that ought to be taken after to stay away from conceivably extreme (5)wellbeing perils (Roberts et al , 2012 )
A hazard is defined as an activity or object that has the potential to cause harm if contact is made with the person, object or activity (MHS, 1996; Harmse, 2007; HSE, 2006). These hazards in a work place need to be identified and dealt with accordingly to prevent any harm to employees or any individual acquainted to a certain activity or establishment. The key roles and principles of occupational hygiene are Anticipation, Identification, Evaluation and Control (Schoeman and van den Heever, 2014; Harmse, 2008; SAMTRAC, 2012). To practise in accordance to the above principle; a hazard identification and risk assessment needs to be conducted. Anticipation is the foreseeing of the activity
Handling, processing, and preparation such as (cooking, cooling, reheating, holding/service) should be controlled to ensure that the food is not contaminated in any way.
The third weakness is the fact that food tests, inspections, and the detection of contaminants are taken seriously only after an outbreak of some food-borne diseases, food poisoning, or deaths. The increase in the number of food establishments or outlets such as cold stores, hypermarkets, and supermarkets reported by the Public Health Director has also made inspection and control mo...
