In the book power of habit by Charles Duhigg, has shown that individuals in general can't identify whether a habit is good or not; we justify a habit on if the end result gives us satisfaction or not. Duhigg explains to his readers the toxic cause and effects of forming habits; and just how strong they could be. A habit of mine that needed changing was drinking monster energy drinks. The educational specialist, also concludes with the exact time habits are being formed, the series of actions are already being embedded in their head so they can perform the task again unconsciously, or effortless; this process is better known as chunking, or the “basal gangla (Duhigg ch 2)”. People overall can't identify their habits fully, which is

These facts alone should be enough to convince a person to stop smoking in my opinion. One cigarette contains over 4,000 toxic chemicals which then enters your body as poisons. Second-hand smoke kills approximately eight adults a day from lung cancer and about 35,000 deaths per year from heart disease. Cigarette smoking is also tied to 300,000 cases of bronchitis and pneumonia each year. If that isn’t enough to change your mind, just to produce 300 cigarettes one tree is being wasted so that people can smoke and cigarettes take 25-26 years to decompose. Cigarettes are so harmful that they kill about 6 million people each year. Cigarettes are also defective because they are engineered to produce an inhalable smoke that can cause major health concerns to smokers, and all the people around them. We as a human kind have developed some bad eating habits over the years. High calorie unhealthy foods like hamburgers, desserts and sweet drinks are so widely popular and easy options that most adults in U.S. and 1 in 3 children are now obese. Changing the habits is not that hard. The most important thing is to get rid of most food offenders (eat at least 80% healthy) and not fully load that plate.
Many people have trouble understanding what a healthy lifestyle is. They often picture endless hours in the gym and being on a crazy liquid diet. Others may think they can spend an hour doing a hard workout and then go eat whatever they want because “they workout”. Once balance is found a healthy lifestyle becomes easy. Understanding the difference between balance and being strict and obsessive about what you eat and when you work out is key. Some have an extremely hard time learning a balance. If they eat junk food, they feel guilty. If they miss a workout, they feel guilty. The truth is, junk food and rest days are great in moderation. Find a balance will help them feel much happier, healthier and even see more physical results. Getting an ideal physique is simply, 80% diet and 20% exercise. The best thing to do is eat healthy, well portioned meals at least five days a week. Then allow one or two days of eating more relaxed foods in moderation without any guilt. If one has a few cheat meals, or in other words, foods that aren’t very healthy, are not going to make them “fat” or gain weight. Especially if they are also working hard in the gym five to six days a week.
In conclusion if you want to live long and not have to deal with the health risk that is involved, do not even think to start smoking a cigarette. I am on the wrong track and not healthy and after all of this research I just might quit smoking cigarettes. Staying smoke-free will give you a whole lot more of everything, more energy, better performance, better looks, more money in your pocket, and in the long run more life to live (Smoking).

Other than that, my family and I rarely eat at the restaurant and I think it helps having a better portion control and it prevents from eating junk food. Another eating habit that I have is that I love anything sweet. I’ve always had a sweet tooth, and in the past years I tried repressing it. What I’ve come to realize it that doing so only intensified my craving for sugar, therefore I’ve been allowing myself sugar, but I try to get it from an healthier source. I think that
